All differences: (that I’m aware of so far) The first meeting with urbosa (in botw) had only Zelda, while the age of calamity first meeting has link, impa, and Zelda in Gerudo town. The Sheikah in botw were only able to get the camera runes to work, in age of calamity all the runes work. The presence of the egg robot. The introduction shows the presence of two champions per divine beast, instead of one. The botw champion descendants may have a part to play in the story.

I think you're right. These certainly don't match the events as they were described to have happened in BOTW. Minor deviations can happen, but major changes like the towers rising up, the existence of multiple Sheikah slates with all runes unlocked, and the small time travelling guardian can't just be marked up as changes to the story. This has to be some kind of alternate timeline created by the small guardian when it went back in time. Therefore, it's not a true prequel anymore, which makes perfect sense because we already kind of know what happened in the original timeline. This way, they can tell a "different" story, one that accommodates all the crazy huge battles you would expect to see in a Warriors game.

Well in fact during the pilots recruitemement, in the DLC memories, Zelda is all alone with servants and it's well before shet met Link, but that's also way before she got the Sheikah Slate, and here she get it from Impa, so it's possible pilots are already recruited and that's why the missions of the chapter 2 of AoC are named after the future champions names since they're maybe looking to recruit them for the champion ceremony that time. But we'll see in a week. But well in the trailer Urbosa says in the desert that she's accepting her mission to pilot Vah'Naboris, so that's not compatible with BOTW.

Thing is, it's not a direct prequel, but this video doesn't really prove that. The proof lies with the guardian egg and the presence of the champion descendants in the past. Neither of these scenes are Zelda meeting Urbosa for the first time as it is implied that Zelda has known her since she was a child (as Urbosa and her mother were good friends). These two scenes are just other meetings that could have taken place at any time and they do not contradict one another. However, this isn't me saying AoC is a direct prequel. Being a warriors game, it is just gonna use the foundations of the BOTW lore (as well as the egg's time travel shenanigans probably) to bring some good old fanservice and hack and slash goodness. So in a way, it is a prequel, but judging from the demo, everything in AoC is going to be an alternate timeline. The champions are still dead in the original timeline and ganon still won. The question really is whether BOTW2 is going to address the guardian egg and the split timeline and how canon it will consider it. So technically, yes, it is a prequel since it takes place before BOTW. But it is also a WHAT IF scenario. The events in AoC will not all line up with BOTW but rather, it is a way to relive those moments having made different decisions (and with time travel). Zelda is known for its split timelines after all, so AoC could be starting yet another path.
