the problem, at least with most of the variants, is that they pumped all their new ideas into them, so they just feel strictly better, and the old ones more generic. like, abassid has the wings, but ayyubid has twice the wings and way more unique units. and more new stuff = more potentially broken stuff. same with ZXI. the whole point of the dynasties was to unlock the more powerful units but ZXI throws that restriction out the window on top of adding even more silly stuff. And the first dynasty straight up allowing age rushes just looks like a terrible idea. JD also makes french just feel redundant. maybe if they didn't get knights in feudal, or they just had a worse overall eco it'd be one thing, but they have nearly everything except for the faster villagers. the eco building cost reduction for french is almost completely irrelevant. They're all quite neat, but it makes the originals feel pointless.

Early knights. Very strong late game with the best siege kind of and streltzy.

@@Rub-A-Duck they have the highest range springalds (I think only mongols can have more range). Also their age 3 landmark gives them a ton of food. And they have a lot of eco bonuses with bounty and wood gathering bonus. Just overall a really strong civ.

@@Rub-A-Duck they are just not as straightforward and their early game is a bit hard but their eco is really good because they can get a second TC early on gold without farming it from animals to age up all the while being protected by the kremlin

I think JPN and OOD are just weak because of their early games. Their late game is pretty good since their units rock. Jean I'd say could be placed higher since she is so cheesy and can pull some crazy shit unless the opponent plays perfectly against Jean. I also think Abba could be in B tier. Fresh foodstuffs is still too good. They need to nerf that tech. Maybe 20-30% off would be good. Not an entire 50%. I'm not sure about Rus because I just leave the game when I see Rus. It's way too tiring to micro two scouts and get stressed over deer and wolves. Otherwise I agree with your tier list. I'm in conq1-2 and all I see are zhuxi. Of course I see a lot of JPN and BYZ since people are trying them out, but ZX man.. its just too juicy. Meditation garden needs a NERF.

JPN lategame is indeed strong, but ootd? They are terrible in lategame, 2nd worst after delhi and its only because of culverins which might turn tides with mangonels. Witouth siege superiority, delhi xbows and handcannons destroys everything what what ootd have.

@@trentwearsfape because they are gigachad, there are actually worse, due to massive overkilling of range units. And if we compare gigachad vill which gathers ~37% faster, while HRE gets 50%, and in case of food collection, abbasids and china gets way, way more, it doesnt look that good anymore.

Zhu Xi lategame is really bad. They get no effect from Age IV Landmark. You need to build the one that lets you research 2 techs. And that one does nothing until you invest 1000 ressources. Zhu Xi has no Handcannoneers. The Crossbows and ZGN are still inferior even with the extra bolts tech (which is almost a scam in itself given how little bonus damage it adds). But without it you have no competitive ranged units in Age IV against other factions Age IV units. Meanwhile other factions get Landmarks that actually do something without investing 1000 ressources. Example: HRE villager printer. French Castle with Crossbow bolts. Or any other Age IV Landmark. How can Zhu Xi be considered S tier like this? Delhi used to be great, but they had virtually no Age IV at one point because it took to long. Zhu Xi is similar, it is very weak in early Age IV. Palace Guards do not have +30 HP upgrade, making them one of the worst MAA in the game. The only good unit are the unique cav, which got already nerfed.

No effect? You get the most cost efficient cav unit in the game from your Age IV landmark, and a 20% damage boost on top of it. LOL. Xbows getting nearly 50% extra damage while costing much less than Hand cannons is not a scam. No competitive units? NOB with +15% extra damage would like a word. Your Palace Guards also get +15% extra damage and self healing in Age IV. I mean seriously you have a broken civ and you are crying about your broken units not being broken enough LOL.
