Since the meta has developed, I would recommend training x2 scouts instead of horsemen (they are cheaper), and send 1-2 vills over to tower their wood or gold line. You can garrison the scouts for that tower attack. I like to age up to 2 with the Deer Stones for the yam network and up to age 3 with the Steppe Redoubt for TONS of gold income. Don't miss out on the advanced siege engineering upgrade by placing your blacksmith on the Oovoo in age 3!

This is hilarious. Definitely want to try it out before it gets patched. I wouldn't be surprised if the traders start going based off the pickup amount instead of the drop of amount.
@immortal13373 жыл бұрын
that would not be fair since the traders will always give you more stuff the further away the market is, that is for all civics, the mongols are just able to get one extra turn out of it.
@RageHazzardous3 жыл бұрын
@@immortal1337 I think it would be fair. If they pick up x amount of resources based on what they picked up because the markets were X distance apart making a new market or moving your market to a distance of 2X shouldn't magically increase what's in their cart. They should get more on the next trip, but goods shouldn't just multiply instantly the way they do now.
@belisarian64293 жыл бұрын
@@RageHazzardous Other civs can build market next to neutral market, make traders and then reroute them to distant market, achieving same thing, it does not multiply gold it simply calculate distance when gold is dropped off, traders still have to go that long distance.

the trade win is awsome and a bit OP, If you are a bit protected with towers (or allies), you can get imperial in 14-16 min with a huge economy. Don't make 7, make 10 and then move the market, and when is in the new place, keep the productiong until 20-30 traders (40-50 on late game with 40-50 villagers).

I wonder if this was intended or if this is going to get nerfed. Either way Mongol trading appears to be powerful!

What did they remove it taht you can get early lancers in age 2? In the closed technical stresstest or however it is called, i could produce early lancers.
@FitzBro3 жыл бұрын
Correct, no more age 2 lancers despite the tooltips/tech tree. A curious decision considering French have the Royal Knight in age 2 and Rus have Early Knights.
@McSniffle3 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing they thought it was too strong considering you also had Mangudai and could produce double-units?
@penguin_support18013 жыл бұрын
@@FitzBro Yeah exactly my point why i wrote it in the first place. Thats bs imo. The lancers are the best unit from the mongols. In the closed beta the mangudai were okay but bc everyone took english longbow then they were pretty bad.
@sleepylion97883 жыл бұрын
@@penguin_support1801 Dark Age Horsemen into T2 Lancers would be OP as fuck, that's why they nerfed it.
@ItsSailcat3 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to execute this successfully for 3 full days and it has NEVER worked. EVER. The horsemen build early on almost always fail to be effective because they are 2 weak.. and they cost resources I benefit far more from if I save them.... The boom works fine, but only if ur lucky with the tradepost positioning, because half the time my traders get killed and I can't properly defend them no matter how hard I try.
@FitzBro3 жыл бұрын
As far as the dark age push, I recommend harass with 2 batches of X2 horseman. Stand right outside their gold and try to idle their vills, stay away from TC fire. It takes a little micro. If it's too well defended, scout and camp their first hunt/berry expansion. If it's a map with mid lake or mountains, go for silver tree. Deer stones are a great option for most others. All of it is situational, read the matchup and scout. GLHF

Why not build the stable right next to the Ovoo right off the bat?
@WereCatStudio3 жыл бұрын
because the villager has to walk further to do it and then back on the resources so you waste like 5-10s it could gather resources which is a lot of time when you're rushing eco. You can move the stables itself after its built and you also have to wait for 120 stone so you cant produce double Horsemen anyways even if you built it right next to Ovoo.

I see you going for Deer Stones a lot on stream. What made you change the build order? Did they nerf this one?

I prefer the speed of the deer stones for 1vs1, but the silver tree for turtle or team games.

what on the maps where there are no markets?
@GrooveSpaceArk3 жыл бұрын
There's neutral markets to trade with on every map. If it was in a bad place or something though then you'd just have to go deerstone. If it's islands then silver tree is useless but less useless than deer stone so go silver tree still because you'll need a market probably anyway for buying and selling resources.

As of 4 November, does this mechanic still work this way with the traders or has this glitch been fixed?
@northenby82883 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s a glitch, pretty sure you can do the same thing with any other civ by building two markets, one near the natural market and one far away. Produce traders at the closer market and then send them to the far one once they pick up the gold. The reason it works is because the amount of gold dropped off is based on how far they walked after they picked it up
