Honestly I played the original for 500 hours and got like 200 into the extended version and played china civs a total of 3 times in my lifetime. Can´t get into their myths units. They seem boring compared to the others. Litereally just a monkey as a myth unit? Not very inspiring

@@laufendlich It's really odd since there is SO much Chinese Mythicism they could've tapped into but just didn't. And the civ doesn't have any kind of interesting gimmick either. It's just, ''lots of free resources, lots of units''.

This is the game I've most anticipated ever! I'm so stoked it's coming out this year and now that it's going to be a new released game, it will continually get worked on, get updated, mods implemented as well as Dlc's and more!

14:58 left side aren't promethians, they are Heka Gigantes/Giants. They can jump up causing a small earthquake that knocks units around them away. They are also quite good against buildings. Also Promethians got 2 arms only not 4.

@@FitzBro No worries. 😄 Neither am I. 😅 I think the game looks super good so far, I don't get why some people complain about it looking cartoonish; when the original also looked kinda cartoonish compared to AoE3 which both for OG and DE uses the same engine as AoM/AoM:Re. I also like that they kept/keep the OG AoM sound effects. 🙂

Dude, you really need to try the Atlantean civ in AOM. I always play as Oranos, choosing the right path gives me less costs to upgrade soldiers to heroes + they will regenerate. It probably won't work on competitive pvp though, but going against the computer or with friends it's awesome.

13:48 you can see a little bridge the 2 sudes of the base. Not sure if its for aesthetics, but if not then it could mean that bridges are an actual feature now, whereas they were scrapped from the original due to time and money constraints.

Every old strategy game had 6v6 nothing new there .., i remember Warcraft 3 emerald garden and we all clash armies after 20min , bro PC had like duo core , 512MB or 1GB ram , and Gforce 4 64MB , experience was like 5min of slide show then looking for heroes on map xD

I look at the Egyptian battle image and observe that it looks a lot like the last mission in the Egyptian portion of the original campaign. The first Atlantean image appeared to have Gaia, which suggests that the other Titan may be Kronos. I wouldn't be surprised if all of these images were from campaign gameplay, but most of them definitely looked like a redone missions from the Fall of the Trident or the New Atlantis campaigns. Am disappointed by there being no mention of Chinese. I know their current state isn't great, but I'd hope for a new version in AoM retold.

It's possible that you will be able to get multiple Sons of Osiris. Adam Isgreen mentioned they were considering enabling multiple uses of God Powers. Of course even in that interview he didn't say it was guaranteed, and that's the same interview where he said the Chinese _would_ be included (something he said with higher confidence than the God Powers thing), so take it with a grain of salt.

Disappointing that they haven't got the Chinese. They'd need a pretty substantial rework, but leaving them out entirely is disappointing, especially when people were hoping for not just the 5 civs from EE but possibly an additional new civ like Aztecs on top of that. At least this maybe means they hopefully won't be giving the Greeks healers, Norse archers, etc. like the "balance" update that came out at the same time as Tale of the Dragon.

The Chinese ultimately doomed AoM Extended Edition on steam and I think it is good that they left them out. Maybe a launch of them later with a serious rework could be possible. Smart move for the launch of Retold!

@@FitzBro I don't agree that it's the existence of the Chinese that doomed EE. It's the _poor design_ of the civ, the even worse design of the campaign, and the simultaneous update to the other civs to "patch" their intentionally-designed flaws away that killed it. If the Chinese civ had been good, and they hadn't added Greek healers, it would have been great. And that's what we were hoping would happen with Retold.

Very strange that they're not including the Chinese, I would assume that was a given. It's not that a Chinese civ/pantheon is bad, it's specifically that the Tale of the Dragon DLC was atrocious, that's what people didn't like. I would LOVE a well-made Chinese civ in Retold. But that DLC was bare-bones, poorly planned, poorly implemented, and just fell way short of what it should have been. Now the Steam page can always be updated later with more info, but if we're only getting the base 3 civs plus Atlanteans in the initial release and that's all... I'd be a bit disappointed. The rest of the game would need to be pretty stellar in order for me to excuse that

graphics is dissapointing, worse than extended edition,and it looks like in beta stage,bad shadows everywhere and completely missing shadows on alot of units .Lighting is also very very bad.
