Hey Doug, I've been binging a lot of your videos lately including Cities of Sigmar, KO and FEC and it inspired me to create a FEC character called Sir Bloodbile the Brave. Originally he was just a normal young mortal man who was inspired by the stories and legends of the stormcasts and wanted to become something like one, so he joined up with the local Freeguild army. However in his first major battle against Gloomspite Gits, he was so terrified that he ended up running along with some of his mates. They ran and ran until they were completely lost and they ran out of rations, all while beating themselves over their failure, desertion and cowardice. Once they ran out of food, they started to eat the few Grots they could kill but once that became too difficult, they started to starve to death or just die of poisons so they were forced to consume each other. And finally at his lowest point, the young man was forced to eat his dying best friend who could no longer move despite his pleads. Over the course of days he consumed his friend's flesh and limbs, all while haunted by the voice of his friend in what might be magic or what might be understandable PTSD. Of course at his lowest point, that is when an Abhorrent Ghoul King. At first he sees the thing for the monster it is but can still hear its voice. It tells him of how brave he has been for traversing such dangerous lands alone, praising the man for his courage, spirit and tenacity, asking if he may join him for a meal on the road, not as "king and commoner" but as "two warriors". The man sees the ghoul just rip and tear into the body of his best friend but the man is so broken at this point and so desperate for a way out of not only starvation, but also his own failures, that he just falls into the delusion full force, devouring the rest of his friend with the Ghoul King. From that day forward he was known as Sir Bloodbile the Brave, an indomitable knight of chivalry and courage. Stories of told on how he held the line alone at the Warden's Bridge (went berserk and slaughter everyone), how he saved a damsel from a horde of bandits (actually saved an Elven Ghoul from a bunch of soldiers trying to kill her), how his mighty sword is so pure that the smallest cut cripples the impure (his massive bone club is so putrid and poisonous that even small wounds can quickly become infected), and how he lead a noble host of knights on a crusade to purify distant lands in the name of their king (he actually was part of a FEC army that destroyed the very village/town he was born and raised in, now seeing it as a hive of renegades and monsters that had to be destroyed.) The whole thing is dripping with inversions and irony thanks to the delusions of the FEC but I like to think it also makes good on why someone would join besides just starvation with elements of tragedy sprinkled in.

This part gave me a theory to explain where the Varghulf comes from. Due to both their sheer power and flight, I theorize that while a regular Ghoul eating a Terrorgheist becomes a Crypt Flayer, if a Horror partakes in this meal, they become a Varghulf. Perhaps that sheer level of power gain means that even a Horror can’t handle it, so only the strongest of their kind, such as Crypt Haunter Courtier (explaining the Varghulf's bat-like facial features) are able to handle this power gain.

Warhammer Fantasy Vampire Counts lore for them is so cool tbf, all the different types of unread like ghouls, varghulfs, vargheists and Vampire Lords etc. come from specific Bloodlines of vampirism like Strigoi, Lahmian, Von Carstein, Blood Dragon and Necrarch

they should really add some kind of hero or whatever who's a former doctor or alchemist who can give his allies "potions" made of bogwater and slime that do nothing and work purely on placebo.

You mentioning how if the FEC weren’t so messed up, how useful it’d be to be able to take the abilities of an animal and give it to subjects when they eat it reminds me of what the Kroot do in 40K.

I've had Flesh eaters boxed away since the army came out. I got the book for them, loved it but never did anything with them. You just inspired me to get them out and paint them up. Thank you for this series. 1 QUESTION though. How does Nagash feel about a load of mortals just running around being technically undead, but not really ? Like hes missing out on souls, so wouldn't he be mad about this ? Love the show, keep doing what you're doing 2+Tough

So glad I could inspire some hobby!!! :) To your question, I dont think Nagash sees any great loss as the vast majority of these souls are weak, withered and otherwise cheap. Also Im curious if the delusion makes them unwanted (like fruit that is beginning to rot). But they generally dont oppose him, or at leastcannot form large enough numbers to truly get in the way lol.

Don’t they fall under Nagash’s Grand Alliance? If so, he probably allows it because ultimately they do his bidding anyway.

Well in the new tome, nagash is we aware they are alive and he does not like this. On the courts point of view.. it's mixed. One lot praises him as god king and fights for his name, just like a empire town would for Sigmar. Another lot despises him and hides/avoids/ambushes his forces as an enemy. However, one thing they agree on is that he is a god in his own right and well aware of that, weather it's a pro or con for them. Hope that helps with the lore! It makes for choice whether your courts worship or reject Nagash as their lord.

I would love it if you did a Slaanesh week. I feel like they are hugely under represented in lore videos. They have plenty of units to make videos on. Daemonettes/heralds, Seekers, Fiends, Mounts and Keepers of Secrets. Hopefully they will have a release in the next couple of months so it would be a nice lead up to that.

Your average Platypus Slaanesh has been on the shelf for years. I think this is their opportunity to bring It back in force. There is a VERY likely chance that the Slaanesh release with be December/January. Besides I would rather not wait for "eventually" to get lore videos about a faction that I like.

sort of... technically you are correct, you'd hae 9 leftover dudes. but in its current iteration (which is about to change) you can add models back to a unit. So those 9 extra dudes sitting around will have a purpose

hey I know this is kind of a downer comment but I just couldn't think of someone else to talk to. if their was someone at the place you play games and he cheats all the time but nobody stops him (everybody knows he does it) because, for some reason, everybody seems to like him (not sure why) and he buys basically infinite stuff from the store so the store owner has to like him, what would you do? please help, it really sucks, to the point of me even thinking about quitting warhammer
