This is really useful for me mate, I have not played AoS yet but have always wanted to. At the moment I just buy the start collecting boxes because I like to paint.

On the Sylvaneth box, an additional box of dryads gives enough dryads to have 3x10, 2x10/1x10, or 1x30 units. The extra 2 dryads can be built as branch nymphs (the leader of a dryad unit). Also on avg, without unbinds you can summon 30 dryads per game from a branchwraith. The branchwych in the box can be converted to a branchwraith using the extra dryad parts.

Really good shout. I didn't want to mention the Branchwraith in case an event they attend doesn't approve the conversion. I just wish the dryads didn't come in a weird number

I really like how you mentioned all the possible building for each box set. I didn't know alot of the alternative builds for most of the sets, it really makes some of those start collecting boxes alot more interesting.

BoC Main player here, the BoC SC box is amazing, 100% for sure get 2-3 of them for anyone starting BoC. You are paying basically $5 for a Ghorgon or Cygor, with a Discount its free and you save a few more. If you are able to get a 10-15% discount then get 3 for sure. Make 2 Ghorgons and 1 Cygor (its free might as well make 1 of each). Having 2-3 Shamans is 100% ok and almost lists will have 2, you can actually take some extra Bestigor bits (Head, weapon) and convert the Shaman into a Beastlord, now you have 2 Shamans and a Beastlord. Make 2 Ungors and 1 Raider unit. Finally get the Endless spell kit (the Taurus is just amazing if you can get it off). This will get you a solid 1500pt army, later on you can add in Bullgors, a Doombull, and more Ungors/Raiders/Centigors, etc... You starting list will look like this with 3 SC boxes 1500pts (1480pts) Shaman Shaman Beastlord Bestigors x10 Bestigors x10 Bestigors x10 Ungors x10 Ungors x10 Raiders x10 Ghorgon Ghorgon Taurus Extra CP Battalion

I agree... I bought 4 FEC boxes. My only real issue is the courtier / heroes for the Flayers & Horrors come from the same kit and leaves you with an odd number.

Poor death alliance. FEC have a pretty good start collecting, but the two LoN boxes are terribly shy on battleline models, which hurts a lot in such a hoardy faction, and have big centerpieces that ate too specific and you won't want to run bunches of. Nighthaunt & OBR don't even have proper start collecting. Nighthaunt are at least in the starter sets, but none of those are particularly great model selections for building up an army from scratch.

I've got quite a few of these sets half built or waiting to be attacked so this was a great way of seeing where I could take the army once I get them built. Good questions Jaro. A lot of these start collecting boxes have been out for a while now, and made before Nighthaunt got a book. Previously it was more mixed death. Nighthaunt came in mid-2018

as a adition to this, Prosecutors come with only the dual hammer weapon option and the liberators only come with the hammer and shield option ( no swords or greatweapon here)

You can ally Cities of Sigmar units into Daughters of Khaine OR you could use the 'Har Kuron' City of Sigmar which lets you have 1/4 as DoK. Depending on what Dark Elf models you want to use

Appreciate the feedback Brian. With 28 start collecting boxes there was a fine balance between providing rich insight and not going too long. It might be something I look into making individual videos about the boxes in the future with a greater focus.
