I was awed by the wheel lathe. In my day I turned 2 tires on a horizontal lathe in the B&O ahop Newark Oh. Looks Brand New. The newest lathe of the 5 in our shop in 1956 was a 1935 American Browning, on which I turned "a few" side rod bushings. Much of our equipment was run by belts from an overhead layshaft.. LOLOL To think of all the trips I made up and down 62 in the 60's between Newark and Canton and never new you guys were so close to Berlin.

Thank you for watching Frederick, this placecwas amazing. That lathe was really impressive to see up close and personal. I would have loved to see the belt driven stuff you worked on. Been to a few old mills that ran like that, but to see a rail shop that would have blown my mind, so glad you liked the video, appreciate you watching and commenting.

I was at The Age Of Steam Roundhouse recently. The whole place was absolutely amazing. The tour guides were very impatient and hurried the visitors along. I was chastised by a tour guide for asking a question during the tour. Most of the other associates at the place were very nice. Nice to visit but we will not be back anytime soon.

Yes sir, its crazy but makes total sense all those big flanged wheels would walk right off the rail on tight curves so they took the flange off some so it could slide freely on the rail but still had the power.
