Women are terrified of ageing. And it’s no wonder! Whilst men are celebrated, and admired for ‘ageing like fine wine’ - women are depicted as decrepit, crones and witches when over a certain age. And that certain age is getting younger, and younger and younger. Girls as young as 13 are now so scared of the ageing process, that they are getting BOTOX injected in a bid to prevent wrinkles. How concerning is that!
Women also spend huge money on anti ageing procedures such as botox, injectables, facelifts, implants and expensive skin care products, just trying desperately to hold onto their youth. But does any of it actually work? Or do we just end up looking like ourselves, and our age - but like we’ve had ‘work’ done? Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Courtney Cox - these beautiful women are a fine example of females who are trying to halt the ageing process, and some would say it’s working, others would say the opposite.
Either way, I want to spread the message that as women we can be beautiful, successful, vital and THRIVING at any age. 18 or 88. We don’t actually have an expiry date. Nor do our looks. Nor does our worth.

When people subtly tried to make me feel bad about turning 30 last year I had to remind them that I had stage 4 cancer at age 24 AND ALMOST DIDNT LIVE TO SEE 25 and turning 30 was supposed to be a negative thing ? Also, turning 30 and being officially cured of cancer (the 5 year remission mark) were the same year. No one could take that joy from me.

Gwen Stefani is one of the saddest examples for me. We’re about the same age and she was such a hero of mine when we were younger. She was punk, she rocked her smaller chest, her natural looks and really seemed to do whatever she wanted in terms of fashion and music etc. Now she looks like every other celebrity and is indistinguishable from the other Botox eyebrow lift aliens. Adele also is following in her footsteps. I’m happy for her to get healthy but she’s had work done and now she just looks like the rest of them and not herself. And we fell in love with her while she looked like herself and partly because she looked like herself and it was awesome. It’s a betrayal, honestly.

The worst thing about getting older is not the crows feet or the neck and forehead wrinkles. The very worst thing about getting older is seeing your loved ones pass away. I’m 50 and I’ve already lost my mom, my dad and my older sister who died last year from breast cancer. That loss about damn near ended me. I’m still devastated. We had dreams of growing old together. Yes, eventually we will all get old (hopefully) but my advice to people would be to spend time with the people you love!! Take lots of pictures and make lots of memories with the people that you love. Wear your sunscreen everyday and get out there and enjoy life and stop worrying about what you can’t control. Learn to love and embrace your smile lines and remember the people who gave them to you!!

I have photos of myself in my home of my prom, sorority formal photos and photos of me with figure skaters. I’m 50 now and I cherish those photographs. They remind me of such good times in my life.

Losing your loved ones is so heartbreakingly painful! That's aged me too I lost my father just 2 years ago, and then my grandfather a month ago, and then my uncle 2 weeks ago. I lost my son 2 years ago, get was 33. He was self destructive. He always took pride in me, showing up to school or his work and taking pride in my appearance. At his memorial, I chose to get my hair and makeup done, wore my best black attire, and do him proud. Now 2 years later grief has took its toll, I have daily bags under my eyes from crying almost every night. But I also have smile lines, because I'm a proud grandma and when life gives me a chance to smile I do. I'm proud of my aging face and go au naturel unless there a occasion. My features represents the life I've lived and my ancestors faces. I do believe the proper diet, exercise and face routines help plus lots of water, occasionally having drink and no smoking helps. Go with grace women, just be careful, especially with fillers. 💛

It was also the time when I attracted the greatest number of men, and when they would fall madly in love with me. I once had three young men who barely knew me coincide at the airport to see me off-knowing I was leaving forever! And while I was never photogenic, my best photos were taken between 16 and 22. Airline and immigration officers commented on my passport photo. The camera ceased being my friend in my late 20s, even though I still looked great in person throughout my mid-40s. There was something magical about being 18, that moment in life that was past the awkwardness of adolescence, but not yet hardened by time. Yes, it was prime.

Don't do it, I started at 26 and am 30, what happened is since I Was naive I let people do things to my face that I didn't need. Radiofrequncy killed some of my precious fat padding (which we lose eventually anyway so why did I consent to this) giving my lower face a gaunt appearance, not flattering on a round babyface which I had. Then my filler seems to migrated and right undereye been puffy looking and purplish for 2 years now (despite leaving that area alone since I noticed!) and left side of face looks like I have a walnut in my cheek as filler migrated to my soft tissue below the cheek bone. If I could go back I wouldn't of. Any benefit I liked left quickly, and the negatives are all that lasted

I honestly think we do set the standards. This video legit made me cry at the end. I just turned thirty this year, and I've felt like a failure with everything that I have failed to accomplish. I don't have kids, a house, or the high-value job I'd thought I'd have by this age (my mother had all of these things by the time she was 28). Now I'm starting to see wrinkles on my forehead. I totally agree. As a breast cancer ass kicker (diagnosed at 38) I can tell you that chemo can really age your face. I look at myself now with a few extra wrinkles at 41 and ponder if I should get botox. But I see my crows feet and laugh lines and realise I'm a god damn survivor that went through hell with a smile on my face and I'm proud of the way I look. I'm thankful to be alive and that I get to celebrate my birthday each year when so many others cant. 🙏 Love your videos Steph. Stephanie, you are doing an exceptional job of being unafraid of being real. It's So detrimental how many women have come to believe They are only worthy when they are young. Influencers like yourself kudos for expressing how important it is for all women to believe that they are all worthy and beautiful no matter what age! I've never had issues about "looking old" until I hit 40 (I'm 47 now). I have always looked much younger for my age, but as soon as I turned 40, I felt like I had just woken up one day and bam, there's the old me. As a 21 (almost 22) year old, I’ve just recently started realizing how obsessed I really was with aging and “looking old” as a *teenager* ... I remember being absolutely terrified of the thought of becoming old, basically thinking that “my life will be over” by the time I hit my thirties. Now everyday I look at my mother who’s 53 years young, enjoying herself, going on shopping sprees with me, putting makeup on, feeling and looking gorgeous. I can see how my father looks at her and how much love he has for her, and it makes me so happy. I feel like growing old and having wrinkles and gray hairs is a testament to the life we’ve lead, I honestly cannot wait to get older, because growing older so far only made me more comfortable with myself and a lot happier.

I think I look pretty good for my age, but I feel like I’m less desirable now that I’m where I’m at in life, no kids, new at a career. I'm 53 and have earned every grey hair, wrinkle and scar on my body. It is a map that tells the story of my life. I often look at myself with love and fondness as I re-live my life through them. I have enjoyed watching myself as I change the way I have dressed with each passing decade. I have held on to a few key garments that I wore in my early 20's (early 90's) and pulling them out bring joy to my life. On my 50th birthday I bought myself a pair of Doc Marten boots with pink laces to celebrate. I wore them in my teens. I'm wearing them right now! I wear them every winter with black leggings, a merino woollen tunic & long-length cardigan also in merino wool. I brighten it up with colourful scarves. My GF was watching this video next to me. While I mostly agree, I'd like to add sth. Old body is not just about looking older, it is also greatly increased risk factor for many diseases. There is growing evidence nowadays, that aging can be influenced, possibly slowed down, even reversed... with lifestyle and other interventions which future may bring. I personally find this much more important that all these external procedures. What's the worth it to be filled with neurotoxin if you smoke, don't exercise，eat junk food... sooner or later it will reveal itself. Aging surely isn't something we should panic about, I think it's perfectly normal if we want to offset it, but we as a society should be focusing on biological changes, health in general, not just be hiding behind these silly procedures. And of course... there's nothing wrong with a few wrinkles c'mon.

The media started tearing her apart and calling her an old hag when she approached her forties (or maybe even earlier). I've loved Madonna since the 80's, I'm 46 now and she's still one of my faves out here. That said, Madonna's been getting work done since her early thirties. There are numerous plastic surgeons speaking to this because there are physical tells that can be seen in her photos since the early nineties: brow and hairline is different (brow lift), elongation of the tragus (facelift),etc. What we see now is a result of even starting to have plastic surgery done. You can't get something done without it needing to be redone in ten years. Even then, when you get something done something else falls so you have to make adjustments there as well...that's not a figure of speech, that's legit. That's when you start looking the way that she does now. THIS is why surgeons advise to wait till much later in life to start getting plastic surgery. I wish more people spoke about these aspects of surgery and using that to make or break a decision. I agree with you wholeheartedly, If it makes her happy, go girl!

I love your videos! It's quite sad how societal pressures are influencing so many nowadays. I'm 45 and have not had any surgical procedures done. I have my own skin issues, which include rosacea and eczema. I remember a couple of older ladies commented on how "great" my skin looked. One of them stated, "You never had any work done. Please don't." I will always remember her telling me this. I love watching 80's through early 00's movies or shows and appreciating how everyone looks so "natural". I was never "blessed" with being conventionally attractive so honestly now at 49 I'm not despairing any changes in my appearance. I don't have any sort of fear or dread at the superficial changes of aging, way more about fears of being incapacitated.. Honestly i used to be pretty pissed off about getting what society constantly told me was the short end of the genetic stick.. Now, I have had some time to think about it and i'm quickly reaching the age at which women completely lose all their fucks to give and i'm pretty happy watching the fall away. It is definitely a blessing. And yes, i haven't done any "work", but I put on makeup daily, do my hair, dress "up" because I always have and I often forget I am "older". It's a trip, girls! ❤ p.s. I also am on social media and keep on with life.

You Stephanie are a breath of fresh air! I have had so many problems through life and hated myself for most of it! I'm married to a younger man and have struggled with looking older . So many girls I know "a lot younger" have their fillers and botox and love it but I can't bring myself to and you have just validated my feelings I love the wisdom and knowledge I now have and if that means lines etc come for the ride then so be it! I love this message. I’m proud of how I look at 48 and as a grandmother. I will continue coloring my grays and using skincare, but I will not be carving up the face I was born with ❤.

This video made me reflect on the fact that my grandmother was getting hit on by men in her 90s. Not that that is the benchmark for success, but it shows that women are desirable at every age. I believe that many of the men were younger (relative to her age), as well. She was the one who taught me to take care of my skin and wear sunscreen daily. No cosmetic procedures and she barely wore more than pressed powder and lipstick. Her beauty always shone through, no matter what.

I'm one of your younger viewers, 26 years old, and I'm so thankful to have found you! You've boosted my self confidence so much. Now when I look in the mirror at my nose that I always disliked, I now like it because it shows my heritage. And after watching this video I looked in the mirror and thought that I was beautiful, even though just last week I was worrying about the 11 lines between my eyebrows. Thank you Stephanie!
