I have always been haunted by the questions I have regarding her death? There are many questions. Prince Rainier was a mechanics and tinked with his cars. The car was wrapped in a tarp and taken to the palace with out Inspection. Some weeks later, Royles Royce put out a statement the brakes were in good condition. Stephanie knows what happened, she couldn't talk about it to her father.

Stéphanie has confirmed several times in the last ten years that she was not driving the car and that her mother very suddenly lost control of the steering wheel, too sudden to stop it from going off the road. She also confirmed that she tried to hit the brakes but couldn’t, again because it happened too sudden and quickly. The hospital confirmed Grace had stroke. Whatever other theory people come up with, Stephanie will never get her mother back and has been hurting immensely of the false accusations made against her.

Strokes and aneurysms can be very spontaneous w/o symptoms. Probably more likely an aneurysm. They are a bubble like clot and when they burst w/o any warning, death almost always follows.

Dear Age of Vintage: About the stroke, it CAN actually happen at any age. There is a condition not very well known called: DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS. Which forms blood clots, usually in one of the legs and if you are unlucky it will travel towards your lung, heart or head. This illness can attack ANYONE regardless your age, gender or even if you are thin or physically fit. Now, you say she was busy busy before her death... DVT is caused also when one spends way too many hours sitting, laying down or walking and no rest. This illness is also more prone to people whose parents had a heart attack or stroke as well, genetic factors, contraceptive pills but it can affect practically anyone. Not much is known about DVT, even nowadays wouldn't surprise me if many are treated as "covid" when they have blood clots for the mentioned factors. It is mostly overlooked and misdiagnosed.

I was on a European bus tour at the time and we could not travel through or into Monaco at all because of the accident. Everything shut down. There was intense sadness and heaviess in the air. But the very first thing we heard was that Stephanie was driving. Looking back on this all these years later I still wonder what really happened and I will never forget the shock and disbelief everyone felt about the event no matter how it happened it was a very very tragic event. Shouldn't we at least be able to ask the chauffeur who volunteered to drive who was in the driver's seat when they left? Both Grace and Stephanie were inexperienced drivers and that turn where the car went off the road is a hairpin turn and the road leading up to the turn is fairly straight and you would have been able to build up quite a bit of speed. If you were not familiar with driving it would be very easy to be going way too fast and it be too late to slow the car down in time to make the turn. Hence the reason no brakes were applied. As you are realizing you are going to fast your brain can't react fast enough to figure out to apply the brakes. You just have time to realize you are going to fast and all your thinking about is this is going to be bad really bad. And it was...RIP Angel Grace💗

I think it's possible that the daughter had been driving, and lost control of the car while they were arguing. That would explain why Grace's injuries were more severe than her daughter's. Because the daughter could grip the steering wheel as they were going over the side, and the wheel protected her. Grace didn't have anything to grab onto or to protect her.

Has anyone ever considered the possibility that it was her own husband who did away with her? They were both said to be having affairs. Grace might have spent the summer with her lover, husband felt humiliated even though he was waving it about himself - motive enough. Same with Princess Diana. No one has ever considered that, and that's precisely why he might have done it: he knew he was safe from suspicion. And he was! If she cried out that the brakes don't work - that doesn't sound like a stroke or an argument. That sounds like the brakes didn't work - because they had been tempered with!

I loved Princess Grace, had a scrapbook of her and her marriage. For me, she will always be the most beautiful woman God ever created. Yes, hitting the gas pedal rather than the brake has caused many accidents. Just recently it would seem that Tiger Woods accident - no brake marks, and an increase in speed seems he may have done the same thing. I drive, as race drivers do, with only one foot. I don't have the kind of mind which in an emergency can remember to take your foot off the gas pedal and then with your other foot hit the brakes. I merely drive with two feet and it makes my mind relax. An emergency occurs my left foot knows its job as well as the right foot. Seconds are saved, which is why race drivers drive this way. Personally, I think our driving laws should be changed to accepting two foot driving as a much safer way for all of us.

Yes. Mother and daughter arguments may have caused it. Princess Grace made enemies perhaps by marrying a prince from abroad. Men in Hollywood who were proud to have such beautiful actress in their films must’ve been very hurt, very upset. Yet, they wouldn’t resort to killing her. I think the daughter must’ve been driving that day as a learner driver. She may’ve pressed the wrong pedal. Rather sadly, Princess Grace couldn’t survive to answer those nagging questions. Prince may have heard who drove the car that day and how the accident happen. What better way to protect his daughter? He silenced princess Grace. Could the same have happened to the beautiful Princess Diana or even Elvis Presley and Micheal Jackson? Someone wanted them dead!? We live in a cruel world. Those beautiful people were taken away from us so soon. RIP.

But she couldn't divorce as she came from a strict catholic family who didn't believe in divorce. Now she done her duties as a princess. But her true happiness was in Hollywood. If she had stayed in Hollywood she would been happier. But may she RIP. I'm sure she's doing her entertainment again in heaven. A great beautiful elegant lady. Xx❤❤

That is an outrageous claim. Please think about what you have said. There are many types of facial beauty. Grace’s has a softness, purity, and almost heavenly sense about it, as though Eve must have had such looks. If there were ever an ideal or perfect Caucasian woman’s face, real or imagined, as a young child I used to stare at hers and wonder if hers was it, or whether she was what an angel actually looked like; and then, on hearing that soft, soothing voice, I wondered whether the angel would sound like that too! Her face almost suggests that no evil thought could find a home behind it, or that the most evil possible thought would be fatally disguised. I used to hunt for the equivalently perfect negroid and mongoloid faces, and to fault myself for not finding them. Then, while practicing medicine in South Africa, and working at Baragwanath Hospital, (which served Soweto) I saw an African nurse who, to my eye, had that same, almost illusory perfection and who, poor girl, spent a good portion of her working day fighting off the attentions of all local studs, both black and white, despite the nauseating laws against the latter mix. I achieved some (temporary) status as a legend among men by being invited to her home (not by her, alas, but by her brother who had applied for and won a place at Oxford, where I had been a medical resident). In my seventies, my heart still quickens a little at the memory of sitting next to her at her family’s dining table. One had to be smuggled into Soweto on the floor below the rear seats of the car because of the applicable laws of that time. That said, it was not very smart for a ‘gringo/honky’ [the Sowetans were too nice, and/or perhaps too cautious, to give voice to an African equivalent for these American sobriquets] to be going into Soweto without the company of close friends, but these were the best and truest of friends I had ever known, and remain so to this today.

All of those conspiracy theories seem pretty far fetched. The most likely explanation is that she had a stroke which caused her not to be able to brake properly. Stephanie has confirmed many times that she wasn't driving, despite all the accusations that she was at fault, and the hospital confirmed Grace had had a stroke. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

September 13th 1982: Grace Kelly, Princess Grace of Monaco, was driving (in a (brown, not her green) Rover 3500 on a winding road, the backseats full of suitcases to move from the country estate, because of an affair of her 17-year-old daughter Stéphanie with a rural local. The car was strolling ~ I guess of a small fight, which they called "stroke" due to the weird German word „Schlaganfall“ from boxing ~ driving to fast into a hairpin bend, it came off the road and plunged down a 40-meter-deep slope, where Grace broke her bones and „skull“! I don't think it was a technical error (the brakes worked on the road before). I believe she was still a bit drunk (and cocky) from the evening before, where she found out about her daughter's affair - like her sister-in-law Antoinette, who had an (forbidden) affair with an officer of the Wehrmacht - concerned about the throne and inheritance of the family at a wrong location.

I do think it is a real possibility that Princess Grace had a stroke and confused the brake and gas pedals. But some of the rumors about the mafia, etc. are a little far fetched in my opinion. You have to remember what was going on in Princess Grace's personal life in the last couple of years before the accident. As I recall, both daughters were giving her a coniption (sp) fit with behavior problems. My recollection of Princess Stephanie at that time is that of a beligerant (sp) teenager. Princess Caroline married that much older playboy that everybody knew was a huckster. There were also rumors that she and Prince Rainier were actually separated, but the situation had been hidden from the public. Given all that, I can see why she might have developed high blood pressure and had a stroke. I've wondered at times if she and Princess Stephanie were having an argument when Grace made that fatal error and plummeted down the mountainside. But we will never really know for sure.
