Hey, glad to see you're back, I missed your videos. CM Punk is the greatest, an incredible asset to AEW. And yes, he will turn heel, the coments of Adam Page regarding him came out of nowhere and it's obviously a foreshadowing of something. Adam Page is like the "Ace" of AEW, if he said that it's true, we will eventually figure out that he was right all along, that's what I think. And as for CM Punk heel turn, I think it will be a mirroring of Adam Page's action at DoN : CM Punk will grab the belt to hit his opponent, he will hesitate too, but unlike Adam Page he will do it.
@AgeOfWrestling2 жыл бұрын
That would be awesome storytelling if CM PUNK turned heel like that. He works better as a heel so I’d be happy to see him as a heel. I feel like MJF Should’ve been the one to take the belt off him but I’m not at this point. Just imagine MJF as the face and CM Punk as the heel! Thank you for watching!

CM Punk always worked best as the jerk with a point. Straight Edge Punk was obnoxious but he was right when he berated Jeff Hardy. He was right when he told off Undertaker, a gutsy move. He was right about being better than anyone on the WWE roster, and he was right again when left. AEW couldn't present him as anything but Face given how loved he was... but give it time. He's a slow burner of a heel turn, but we're seeing it. WWE, snatching awful from the jaws of greatness.

I don't dislike Punk, but to this day I fail to decisively be sold on him. The 6/27/2011 Pipe Bomb was a flash in the pan and him as well as a lot of fans need to know that. Perfect example of right place, right guy, right time. To this day, his work in the Straight Edge Society was the best work he has ever done. WAY better than his WWE title reign in 2011-2012. Punk going to AEW was nice, but he will be 45 next year. I for one am sick of this industry being polluted with performers in their mid 40s being main eventers and Punk isn't exempt from this. Neither is anyone in WWE, by the way: Orton, Brock, Lashley, Styles, I just don't care about them anymore. It IS a good thing that Punk was true to his word and worked with younger guys. DIdn't really care for him winning the AEW title, and I don't think Phil Brooks himself really wanted to do that either. Punk's promo segment with Kingston was WAY better than the segment he had with MJF, that feud should have been way longer than Kingston's current lackluster program with Jericho.
@AgeOfWrestling2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I see where you’re coming from. CM Punk was really in the right place at the right time. But one thing you can’t take away from him is that he’s made a big connection with the fans that has enabled him to stay relevant all these years

The 40-50s crew has to keep coming back because they can’t make new stars anymore because no one is really unique anymore. They all wrestle the same, the dialogue is blah, no one is “believable” these days. They think pushing people from back in the days when people actually watched will get the old fans back, but no one is going to watch 2 and a half hours of an awful program to see a watered down version of someone you used to like when you also liked the program in it’s entirety.

Even worse now in September 2023. Insanity to see that he did get brought back, essentially given his own show to be the anchor for, and then in 2.5 months was in so many conflicts and involved in so much drama that Tony fired him. Such an immense disappointment to see how things turned out thinking back to just how positive everything was when he joined the company mostly up to the first injury. I always felt that Punks take when he left the WWE presented some genuine issues in treatment but also seemed like someone who was angry that they only got 90% of what they wanted. And it came off to an extent that he was a guy who was really hard to make happy since he focused so intently on the things he didn’t get over a lot of things he had gotten that other guys would’ve killed for. And then his time with AEW really made it seem to be the truth sadly.

Sitting in hindsight after he’s been fired from AEW it really sucks how the return turned out. It started out so awesome and then after he was hurt it tanked so quickly. It seems like the dude needs to talk to someone and get some help because the way he reacts to things just doesn’t seem mentally healthy. Hope he figures his stuff out and that maybe he finds a path to end his career on a better note than the immense negative it currently is. Hard to think it could have ended more negatively than his departure from WWE but somehow it did in AEW.

I’m not hating, but it’s worth noting that he was allowed to survive the second UFC fight until the bell. Jackson was playing around and could probably of finished him. Also now, in hindsight it’s not officially a loss as it was overturned to a no contest due to Jackson popping positive for weed of all things. I’m not a big wrestling fan, but do like some of these behind the scene type videos. It kinda feels like there may actually be odd parallels between Punk/WWE and the Diaz Brothers with the UFC.

1st and foremost, he done quit. So the release notification arriving on wedding day, is totally irrelevant. He done quit 6 months earlier.
@Matt-cr4vv11 ай бұрын
Getting the papers on his wedding day was relevant though. He did walk out and tried to quit but he wasn’t given a release. He was suspended for two months. Once the suspension ended nobody contacted him about having him return. He began reaching out to them when he asked for a check he hadn’t cashed to be reissued to him which they didn’t do. He also contacted them when his royalties weren’t paid to him. Those are fair things when they haven’t released you to go somewhere else. Two days before his wedding Triple H reached out to him and Punk told him that they’d talk once his royalties were paid and that he’d get back in touch with him after his honeymoon. Two days later on his wedding day his release papers arrived. It’s very relevant to some of the issues he had. They contacted him about discussing his return two days prior to his wedding. That doesn’t prepare you to expect your release on your wedding day. They knew at minimum he was getting married soon considering he told him he’d speak to him after his honeymoon. But they obviously did know when the wedding was considering his wife was still working there and wouldbe communicated the event to get the time away. And they then chose that day to send the release. He did plenty wrong but it’s low brow to do what they did and was obviously on purpose. And some of those things are why he got a healthy settlement from them when he had breached his contract leading to his release.
