I feel like such an idiot after watching this. Iam so glad I stumbled upon your video because I had been thinking about making my dog a fake service dog outfit so I could bring him everywhere with me and iam so glad I saw your video before I did. I never realized how it effects real service dogs. I always thought as long as my dog stays at my side and doesn't bark or run or pee and is well behaved enough to pass as a service dog it wouldn't hurt anyone. I literally watched this and just sat here after trying to get my head around how I could have been so so nieve, selfish, and stupid at this age in my life. Anyways, your video really opened my eyes and changed the way I think about REAL service dogs. I have a whole new respect and admiration for both dog and owner. Thank you for posting these videos.

Thank you for learning. 🤗 At my local shopping centre there was a big incident that I reported. One was a fake in a buggy. Another was a man kicking his tiny puppy for no reason. Ever since every time I go in there the tannoy repeatedly states that if a pet dog is in the store the customer (s) with the dog will have to leave. There was a genuine service dog in the shopping centre and I had to tell the children nearby: that’s a service dog and you are distracting the dog by staring and running up. Thanks for watching, learning and owning stuff. Some people refuse to learn so your attitude is refreshing. 🤗

It also puts a bad reputation for disabled people everywhere, which then causes emotional distress on those with PTSD and anxiety disorders. for anyone defending the Karen, saying things like “oh well it was in a stroller, your dog should’ve been able to ignore it” or saying that the person with the service dog was not handling the situation correctly, I hope you know you’re ableist. it is a federal law and Walmart policy that non-service dogs are not allowed to be in there. distracting or harming a service dog can not only put the dog in danger, but also their owner. no non-trained service dogs are allowed in public places (even esa’s). if the woman absolutely had to bring the dogs with her, she should’ve stayed in her car with them. bringing fake service dogs (that in this case were not even pretending to be service dogs) inside of stores is harmful, dumb, and ableist.

I'm pretty sure esas are and they should be if service dogs are allowed. I'm not defending the stroller lady but the lady making the vid is not in the right either. Imo it's Walmart, if the dogs were causing a problem then yes they should leave, if not then people should mind their own business.

@@gaybatgosqueak service dogs are task trained to prevent possible life or death situations and severe health episodes. esas are therapist recommended pets. they are not task trained, they are not a necessity in public, therefore they arent allowed in places that dont allow pets. i would know, i have an esa lol. i adore my esa and i would love to take him into every public space i go but its dangerous for him and dangerous for any service dogs we come across. service dogs are MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. refusing someone to bring it in is like refusing to let someone into a building bc they have a wheelchair. whereas refusing to let someone inside when they have an esa is like not letting in someone whos breaking store rules regarding clothing. do you see the difference in severity? (not mad btw, capitals for emphasis not in anger)
@gaybatgosqueak
@gaybatgosqueak 3 жыл бұрын
@@rhys2570 Not really. The issue is that esa's aren't seen as important compared to sa's because the mental and emotional well being if a person isn't regarded as important as a physical disability. I have PTSD and panic attacks can be unpredictable and I've almost passed out before. I see no legitimate reason as to why an esa that can prevent that, should be treated any different from an sa. And irregardless of that, my personal opinion is if an sa animal is allowed in a place (like a general store) then any well behaved animal should be, so long as they are not dangerous and or problematic. If they are then they should leave the premise. I believe this should apply to customers as well lol

I work in retail, people are way nastier than bringing their dogs in the store. For example, changing their kids diapers, and leaving them on the store displays. Peeing and pooping in fitting rooms, merchandise, shopping carts. I'm on immunosuppressants, so I have to be aware, but I also see nasty stuff people do everyday at work. What they think is gonna happen: Oh, it’s just a dog, why can’t I have it in here? It’s just for my anxiety. It can’t harm anyone. What actually happens: they start growling and distracting a REAL service dog, which could be potentially deadly if they miss an alert for a serious medical condition.

Dog is worried for her mother. Wal-Mart is notorious for not upholfing the ADA laws or doing ANYTHING about fake dogs until someone gets hurt. The youtuber Service Dog Paws litterly had to put herself in harms way just to get the manager make them obey corprate policy but also THE LAW. There have been many service dog teams injured disabled people hurt NEARLY KILLED by people bringing pets that are agessive and Wal-Mart shutting a blind eye until someone got hurt. In another place just like this there was a six year old girl whose face got mauled do to a manager and the workers doing NOTHING when a wonan brought in a clearly untrained "service dog into their place of employment. Wal-Mart corpetate page says: Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores. Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller and take it into a Walmart store? No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. Only service dogs are allowed in the store, and a service dog should not be in a stroller. Can I carry my dog in Walmart? No, you cannot carry your dog in a Walmart store. Walmart policy only allows service dogs in the store, and they are not to be carried. Ada Law says: Only service animals have public access right. Service animals are dogs or mini horses that have public access rights and are protect by the ADA law. They preform life saving tasks or a task that there handler can not do them self such as ( guide, medical alert, mobility, fetching, getting help exct) emotional support is not a task by the ADA law. Bringing a non service animal into a service dog only establishment is claiming that animal as a service animal. Falsely labeling your animal can result in a fine up to 1,000 dollars and 6 months in jail and community service depending on your state. You will also be held responsible for injuries inflicted on a service animal if your pet attacks a working dog.

My son suffers from epilepsy and he has a service dog, Emmett. He is the sweetest and most well-behaved dog and never gets distracted when we are out. My biggest pet peeve is the petters that think they have the right to come up to Emmett and try to pet him. It clearly states on his vest, “Service Dog” and “Do not pet”. The biggest problem causers are parents that don’t tell their children they cannot pet him since he is working. I’ve been in a situation where a child tried to pet him and I told the little boy, No, very sternly and explained why. The father actually cussed me out for disciplining his son and I told him if he had done what he was supposed to I wouldn't have to. It sometimes gets to the point where it is so stressful for my son that he doesn't want to go with me.

I think regardless of if a dog is a service dog or not, teach your damn kids to not walk up and randomly pet other people's animals. You don't know the person. You don't know the animal. You don't know how anyone in that situation would react. Period. Teach kids to respect boundaries and understand the world wasn't made for just them. I understand they are kids and want to explore, but that puts their safety as risk just as much as it does the service animal/handler.

She should have just confronted management and hoped they where reasonable enough to take her advice and understand how a service dog would react rather then a person who just wanted to bring their dog. @@jennifergilroy8721 Wal-Mart is non pet friendly. Here is some info. This part copied from Wal-Mart corporate page: Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores. Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller and take it into a Walmart store? No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. What the ADA says: Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard. Business owners and staff have the right to remove a service dog that is aggressive, growling, snarling, and of course, biting. Business owners also have the right to remove a service dog if it is disruptive by barking repeatedly, wandering around and/or bothering other customers. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it's a federal crime to use a fake dog. It's a felony punishable by fine and jail time. Every time someone fakes a service dog, it puts the work of real service dogs in jeopardy. Trained service dogs provide assistance in everyday life to those who need it. The consequences are not just limited to a hostess asking your bouncy dog to stop putting his paws on someone else’s table. You and your dog’s actions, no matter how benign, will have impact on the people around you, and one misstep can cause people to believe that all service dogs are just over-glorified pets. Also a fake service dog can distract a real service dig and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fakea owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter.

Which Karen is the thumbnail referring to? The one filming this video or the one with the little dogs?
@fantasygirlstudio4659
@fantasygirlstudio4659 3 жыл бұрын
The one filming is not a Karen. Actually she's in the right maybe educate yourself instead of judging. The woman with the stroller is in the wrong. The dogs are agressive and not service dogs which Wal-Mart only allow. The woman with the stroller states that her dogs could be service dogs but no not with thst behavior or in a cart so in those words and actions the woman is breaking ADA law health code violation and putting people in danger. Fake service dog can distract a real service dog and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fake owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter. The woman with the stroller not only was breaking Wal-Mart policy but also the ADA law. Added note with more info mixed with old. WALMART ID NOT PET FREIBDLY THIS INFO IS FROM CORPRATE Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores. Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller and take it into a Walmart store? No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. My dog is no where near as trained as a service dog (should be) and he easily ignores dogs/kids etc... with a little training. Maybe you’re the one that needs to be educated.

Please educate yourself she had every right to act thr the she did when the entitled pet owner is INDANGERING her and her service dogs life.Service Dogs are trained to ignore these types of distractions, but they are still dogs. No dog is infallible and no amount of training can make a dog completely impervious to any and all possible distractions. Untrained emotional support dogs / pets brought into places they do not belong don’t just attack people. They attack highly trained service dogs, as well, sometimes ending their working lives. And most stores do NOTHING unless you take a firm stand. One such case: With so many selfish, irresponsible pet owners labeling their ordinary pet dogs as so-called emotional support animals just to treat them like fur children and take them everywhere they go, this was bound to happen. Frank Bicking of Thorofare, NJ was with his service dog Beauty at a mall when his dog was suddenly attacked by two dogs belonging to a man who ran a kiosk. That man claimed them to be emotional support dogs. The unleashed dogs set in on Beauty biting her back leg then one began biting at her belly, according to Bicking. He said he had to use his cane to get the dogs off his service animal, which is trained to never show aggression even under these circumstances of being attacked and in pain. True to it’s training, it never fought back; it just took it. People bringing it aggressive pets like that too almost cost a 3 year old little girl her life due to having her face ripped up by one because the restaurant refused to kick the woman with her aggressive fake from the store. It's not about clout she is trying to assure that the business takes responsibility and do as they are supposed to before someone GETS HURT.

Service dogs and the Law: According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, "service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities." The dog must not be a pet, but be specially trained to assist the handler with something directly related to his or her disability. Under the ADA, service dogs cannot be denied entrance to businesses, even food service establishments, state and local government facilities or nonprofit organizations that serve the public. Fakes/ Pets: Pets are not allowed in stores it is a health code violation . Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it's a federal crime to use a fake dog. Her dogs are targeting a working service dog and that barking can absolutely cause a distraction. You think it’s extra, but myself & many who have service dogs & rely on them to save our lives don’t. I’m not going to stand by when there’s multiple dogs barking & growling. They have no legal right to be in the store. And they need to leave. I bet after this confrontation they thought twice before bringing their dogs in another store. Due to my illnesses they do cause me to faint. And I have zero control. I have multiple illnesses that affect things from my brain, to my heart, my blood pressure, my blood sugar, my joints & more. You’re laughing likes it’s a fucking joke. But it’s my life. My safety. Bet you wouldn’t be laughing if it was you, or a family member or a friend. You’d take it more seriously. You don’t have to understand. Please educate yourself she had every right to act the way she did when the entitled pet owner is INDANGERING her and her service dogs life.Service Dogs are trained to ignore these types of distractions, but they are still dogs. She is trying to assure that the business takes responsibility and do as they are supposed to before someone GETS HURT.

Mia seems to be very aroused by her surroundings including the dogs. She is constantly scanning her head back and forth even in her sits and downs which leaves very little room for her to focus on you and your medical needs. Dogs do this when they are stressed and over stimulated. Perhaps try scaling back the public access? I don't think she is ready. Mia also seemed very aroused by this entire incident. I think we always look for aggressive to conclude inappropriate behavior but arousal and those behavior cues from dogs also matter as cause for concern.

The reaction to the other dogs is an improvement from her first encounter where she actually jumped thinking the growling dog wanted to play. Wrong please educate yourself . For one the one with a stroller not only was in the wrong her dogs barking and growling put her at risk if they distract her dog from a medical alert to a chronic illness that could KILL HER so yes she's in the right here read and educate yourself on the law before speaking. Dogs were growling. Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless the one or two barks is an alert task, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard. Pets are not allowed. Under the ADA Business owners and staff are obligated to remove a service dog that is aggressive, growling, snarling, and of course, biting. Business owners also have the right to remove a the pet dog if it is disruptive by barking repeatedly, wandering around and/or bothering other customersand showing clear signs they are not trained and safe either an ESA,fake service dog, or a pet. As well of the owner is putting them in a car which is a health code violation. Having a pet in a non pet friendly store point blank is a health code violation. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it's a federal crime to fake a service dog It's a felony punishable by fine and jail time. Service dogs no matter how well trained are not robots and can be distracted. Mya's gaze kept going to the dog when it pulled or whined which is DANGEROUS FOR THE DISABLED OWNER. Afake service dog can distract and or injure a real service dog and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fakr service dog aka pets owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter. Fake service dogs have disfigured at least six people and killed five since 2012. On January 30, 2012, a six-year-old boy was killed at Fort Campbell in Oak Grove, Tennessee, by a German Shepherd medical service dog. Three months later, on April 27, 2012, Jeremiah Eskew-Shahan (age 1) was killed by his grandmother's emotional support dog" in Henderson, Nevada. Six months after that, a three-month-old girl named Dixie Jennings was mauled to death in Yadkinville, North Carolina, by a Rottweiler which was being trained as a service dog. One year later, on October 24, 2014, another Rottweiler in training as a service dog killed Logan T Meyer (age 7) in Hustiford, Wisconsin. On May 24, 2015, a Rottweiler killed 26-year-old Anthony Wind in Rochester, New York; he suffered from seizures for years because of brain trauma, and the dog allegedly assisted him when he had those seizures. Prior to 2012, there were no previous disfiguring or fatal attacks by service dogs on record.

Dude please educate yourself for one there are two legal questions you can ask any service animal. 1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Which she did ask and the failed to answer. The lady with the growling dogs were faking them beung service dogs. Service digs do not act like that. Only service animals are aloud in most stores for a reason. 1. Most pets aren't properly trained to be in public, can lead to someone or the animal getting hurt. 2. Health code violations 3. Can distract a actual service animal and make them miss an alert leading to a possible hospital trip for the handler. I agree that she should have talked to the manger and showed them who it was but done nothing more like approaching or talking. Her dog seems to be over stimulated or distracted already and adding in growling dogs, and possible hostile people is a no go.

Omg I’m so mad, this has happened to me when I was in a mall. I am also in 9th grade and was looking for dog food, with my family on the other side of the store. So I had to make my way back to my family because I was scared with this lady yelling at me and a child crying because she wanted to pet my dog. I felt bad for my dog because beagles as well as any dogs have sensitive hearing and the crying was throwing her off to sense my heartbeat, so her alerted me and I also went into a panic attack with the child distracting her and the mother repeatedly trying to call, pet, and yank my dog from her leash. When an employee saw they told her to leave and she was cussing me out and calling me names and saying I have a fake service dog WHILE SHE IS PREFORMING PRESSER THERAPY IN FRONT OF HER AND TRYING TO CALM MY BREATHING DOWN please tell me if I was being rude or over dramatic or disrespectful.

Fake service dogs have disfigured at least six people and killed five since 2012. On January 30, 2012, a six-year-old boy was killed at Fort Campbell in Oak Grove, Tennessee, by a German Shepherd medical service dog. Three months later, on April 27, 2012, Jeremiah Eskew-Shahan (age 1) was killed by his grandmother's "ESA" in Henderson, Nevada. Another example of abuse pertains to so-called" ESA." While a service dog directly assists its handicapped owner by performing a task, a therapy dog in the hands of a non-handicapped owner merely provides emotional support or companionship. The federal rule, set forth below, specifically excludes "emotional support dogs" from the definition of "service animals."

Only service dogs are allowed in the store, and a service dog should not be in a stroller. Can I carry my dog in Walmart? No, you cannot carry your dog in a Walmart store. Walmart policy only allows service dogs in the store, and they are not to be carried. Only service animals have public access right. Service animals are dogs or mini horses that have public access rights and are protect by the ADA law. They preform life saving tasks or a task that there handler can not do them self such as ( guide, medical alert, mobility, fetching, getting help exct) emotional support is not a task by the ADA law. Service animals can not be registered, certified, or have ID with in the USA. Laws and rules out side the US varies. State laws do not override the federal law however may grant a SDIT public access however it does not mean they are covered by the ADA. It is important to properly label your dog as it can cause misinformtion and harm actual service dogs and their disabled handlers. Service animals should be potty trained, tasked trained with at least one task, be in a controlled manner when in Public, not bark unless alerting for help or medical episode, be placed on public furniture incleukng benches, tables, chairs, baskets and shopping carts.

Why did you follow them? I would have just notified the manager and let it be. I get that you were frustrated but you made a bad situation worse and placed yourself and your dog at risk, plus your dog was stressed. Your emotions got the better of you here.

Reporting does NOTHING the manager does not care to uphold the laws unless enforced.

It seems competition at times....who can prove they have the real service dog yet everyone says “ you can’t ask me for proof.” This has to put store managers between a rock and a hard place.

1) You're completely right, and people need to be better educated about service animals and the risks fake service animals pose 2) I think you're less right about seeking out the distractions to your service animal, as that really mangles your message and puts your life (and your dog's had these dogs not been in a buggie) at risk. It's not setting a good example. 3) Your attitude, like hers, lacks any type of human understanding or respect, especially towards the end when you mock her possible reasons for bringing her animals with her in a public place.....so it's really hard to root for you 4) The way someone is confronted dictates their response and how they receive the information you're giving them....and you obviously did this in a way that will simply have the woman defensive and not learn anything she should, and she'll just walk out with a negative impression of some young brat bothering her at the store and filming her for social media. She won't respect you or your message and will 100% do it again. If you're trying to educate people.....you're not doing it. 🤷🤦

if you do not have a service animal, you have no right to tell someone that does how to control these types of situations. it is a part of Walmart’s policy that you cannot bring a non-service animal inside, and those people are breaking that rule. it doesn’t matter what excuses they come up with, their dogs are in no way shape or form more important than a service animal. the dog is there to protect their owner’s life, and being distracted by an untrained dog can cost their life. the dog shouldn’t have been in there, the woman and man shouldn’t have brought them in, and you should not be trying to “educate” someone with a service animal.

@@seungshiney I'm very familiar with service animals, and in these situations you do not repeatedly/purposely engage the other dog while with your dog. It puts your dog at risk, as well as your own safety because you're purposely distracting them and they can miss alerting you. Watch any other video on this and the service dog owner makes this clear. Aside from that, her dialog with the individual is the least constructive or helpful I've ever seen - unsurprisingly, they did not get a good result, and they did not help that woman understand how what she was doing is wrong. They were just as pigheaded as she was.

One time I was in this store with my service dog and a random lady comes in And lunges at my dog to pet it and I was telling her that it’s illegal to do that and then she started yelling at me and had her daughter fake pass out in front of my service dog it’s bad because if I was having my problems But they got kicked out so it was fine but I was scared and overwhelmed
