that was the biggest takeaway for me. Japan sounds like if Satan implemented capitalism in Hell and I'm just about burnt out on any goodwill for this country that it's interesting creative output may have fostered

Well, that's what differs the air between Retsuko and AnS. While Retsuko thinks about their office and private problems with deep thought because it's basically seen in female point of view, AnS actually does the otherwise: "Men gotta tough it up and brush it off". You can mock it all you want but the corrupted work system stays there and while I hate Toucan for his characteristic, he's just being realistic and taking things as he can for the compensation of such Black Company. Yeah, sadly Black Company seems to be common there, especially when asshole upper like that turtle decides just make a meet JUST TO CUT THE EMPLOYEES SALARY for the sake of cutting company's expenses.

This anime felt a bit too random and nonsensical for me unfortunately. I mean that mostly in terms of story and dialogue. Aggretsuko still stands as a masterpiece I relate to on a soul level and I'm a dude.

Actually I like Africa Salaryman, it's exactly like this in the traditional kaishas, but I believe that slowly (as a turtle maybe) changing, but well, all countries have pitfalls and great stuff.

What? Please don't compare that poor animated copy of Beastars with Aggretsuko... The animation is horrible, the chatacters are dumb... Everything is wrong with African no salaryman... And is not "for Boys" you can identify yourself with a male or female chatacter, it depends on how is he/she written
