I have to say when there is a mistake, it seems it is usually because of the handlers, not the dogs. Either they are slower, so the dogs don't get the next signal in time; or they are not giving clear signal to the dogs, for example by signing or being close to a barrier.

PenelopeDinkledong S. People travel to crufts far and wide. My college was supposed to go this year as well which takes a long time to get there as it's in another country of the UK. The problem is that there was really bad snow in Britain that day so no one could really travel outside their houses.

they're definitely not empty, it's queuing 2h to get into the arena sometimes. this was on the sunday evening so you had to have a different ticket to get into the arena to watch it which is why it probably looks so empty. but on satuday afternoon there is no space.

This was in my suggestions feed and I'm loving it! Never heard of Cruft's before....so I'm watching & listening to where each is from & im like, "No way! This is in Connecticut?! How awesome---think I'll go to next year's." (Connecticut as in USA) I'm hearing all these nearby towns I live by: Colchester, Essex, Mansfield, and more & I'm super excited, then I realize this is in the UK! This is the good side of Crufts. There is or has been in the last years a bad side also, meaning the breeding standards and judging the best dogs in the show ring. In the past Crufts was criticised by vets because of awarding dogs that are actually not able to breed because of their exterior (e.g. English Bulldog), other breeds with too small heads and many other health problems. Very common is the German Shepherd for his sloping back, deformed hips and spines so he walks like a frog. Some others were really sick, couldn't breathe enough and such. It really was a big deal. They insisted there are veterinary checks. I'm not sure how it works today. Seeing healthy dogs of all kinds competing like this is what we really love about dog sports.

Normally you should be point to the front of the weaves. But because the entry in hidden by most handlers, and the dogs are coming out of a tunnel. Its hard for them to see the entry, its better for most dogs to stand on the other side and bring them in wide. Even if this is slower it gets that first pole. More experienced dogs can make that entry to no mater what, its just depends on the dog.

This event has a problem. They have to be set safety net or soft mattres under position and beside of the high road and high point. Small dog can be broken legs if they fall down.

Border Collies are extremely good at it, so a lot of competitors tend to choose a BC instead of one of the other big dog breeds. They simply have an advantage over bigger, less agile breeds

I read something that said you're dog has to be 18 months old before entering them into competition but you can start training when they are a little under a year old and I looked at it and said forget that! My 4 month old dog already knows how to tunnle and jump! haha!
