brutal murder is a victimless crime to the eyes of the Samsung Republic. Of course they would prioritize their corporate sponsors first and foremost. Why would any government prioritize the 99% who own 1% of the nation? When they could prioritize the 1% who own the entire country.

To anyone who thinks Korea hates piracy, read the story about how the movie Snowpiercer was made, and you will see their problem is only when their stuff is pirated.

To quote Gaben, "Piracy is almost always a service problem, not a pricing problem. If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable."

Anti-preservation at its finest. Also, the international audience wouldn't have known about most manhwa if not for these sites. Webtoon uploading more KR works on the EN platform is only a recent development to accompany this operation.

My two cents on piracy. It is something that's effects ultimately vary depending on the company/groups affected. The government did go a little overkill, but I slightly understand. On the other hand, it has helped to preserve media that would've been lost otherwise.

Unionization. Artists should assemble and organize for freedom of creativity and open market access. Like it or not, without the piracy platforms, there is no global distribution of digital art. The only way that changes is for art unions to make content deals with international distributors, which can include the already established piracy platforms, so official platforms have to get competitive! That's far superior to massive multi-government crackdowns on small-time options. We shouldn't be nuking bedroom computers going into 2025?

@Fruad_joАй бұрын
Somali is not the main focus of the country because he’s a minor problem. He’s not causing people to lose their entire income and they already have him. There’s no point in rushing otherwise there could be cracks or gaps in their defense which can let Jonny off free. This takes more importance because it’s taking away the livelyhoods of these authors so Korea has to take action
