the flight profile of the Lima (or trajectory ?) is weird IMO

That's called DBS. DBS or Doppler beam sharpening works when a target is stationary and is beyond 2.5 kms, it basically helps the missile know where the target is and not end up getting confused from the background and target itself since the FCR and Lima missile seekers have a hard time with stationary targets so instead it comes from the sides of the target so it can get a better lock on it
