@Swindle19843 жыл бұрын
We drink rocket exhaust, actually. Liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen are used as rocket fuel, and water is basically the end result.

Ethanol is not rocket fuel. If we tried drinking early rocket fuels we would literally fucking melt. That by the way is NOT a joke, its absolutely serious. Look at the fuel the Germans used to power the Me 162. It actually melted more than one pilot of that insane failure of an aircraft. Literally. Modern rocket fuels are liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen. Good luck drinking those, they will not melt you, but drinking a liquid gas is NOT going to be good for your health. So please, actually learn something about actual rocket fuels before making such an inane and stupid fucking comment.

They dont know how annoying human will to live is, there was once a man who survived two atomic bombs, in a span of 5 days, if single human can be that much of a struggle for the grim reaper what could a thousand or more so too, i mean if theres something humans a great for, its definitely greed in one form or another

I always thought of humans as more or less the cockroaches of the galaxy. Think about it. If we ever get FTL, and start spreading, nothing will stop us. Once we decide we're going to live in a certain place, we will find a way.

Considering that we seem to be phased to an FTL reality by the tachyon-muon combo, I do believe we're studying them as much as they're studying us. I think we'd recognize Archaeologists when we'd see the. If we had become FTL "ghosts" the phantoms they keep seeing would just be us stopping in one place, either for a period of time or repeatedly, to observe. We're a hearty species, I can imagine us surviving something like that. Especially if it effected other animals and some plants. Other civs who suffered this fate would have died off almost immediately with no food. If enough plants came with us - most likely GMOs with animal DNA - to feed us and the critters we eat, I think we'd do ok. Unable to interact with stuff properly, but, still. An entire FTL ecosystem. Imagine that. Edit: I must contact the writer. This is an excellent writing prompt.

I figured that there were humans on the moon and mars (to survive the varity of bombardments most permanent shelters would have to be underground therefore hidden.) Some of them would have gotten to earth in the years since they found out what happened, or at least since things got quiet.

@alganhar12 жыл бұрын
And what makes you think Earth is a 'Deathworld'? Also the aliens in this story were not particularly worried about the Gravity, atmospheric pressure, or most of the wildlife.... Do not fucking assume that fiction is reality. Its a good way to make yourself look like an idiot. Fact is, so called 'Deathworlds' are the most likely cradles for sapient life. What people like you would call 'Garden Worlds' have precisely zero selection pressure for sapience, because sapience is fucking EXPENSIVE. Our brains make up 2% of our body mass, but require 20 - 25% of our daily energy intake. Evolution tends to select for the minimum possible energy requirement for the maximum possible benefit. On a soft Garden World, where conditions do not change, food is easy to come by, and competition is low, Intelligence is for too expensive to be selected for. On a so called Deathworld, where competition is high, conditions change swiftly, well on worlds like that intelligence IS useful, so will be selected for. In other words, ALL SAPIENT BEINGS WILL BE SO CALLED DEATHWORLDERS. Because only on 'Deathworlds' will Sapience be actively selected for.....

This was a weak first chapter, or totally pointless if that was supposed to be the whole story. These HFY stories can be cringy enough when humans magically are the only species in the universe with IQ higher than 20 or every other species is somehow colorblind or whatever, but being the only ones to invent the steering wheel? Wow, humans soo spechul! As for the alcohol, all higher Earth life has some resistance to it for the simple reason that otherwise they would die of the alcohol forming in their stomach. So, it is not HFY but Earth bacteria FY... The real awesome species here is the narrator's, given they somehow figured out FTL travel and managed to build colonies before they had fusion power to solve their energy issues. So yeah, it is implied humans got a Moon base and Mars colony, but those cars and planes aren't even electric.
