I remember Simon Cowell saying that Richard Goodall is our HERO! And that we all need a Hero right now. I absolutely agree with that sentiment especially considering all the strife & turmoil roiling Americans during this Presidential election. Just a few months ago, Richard Goodall, an average, unassuming man shyly walked onto the AGT stage to audition yet he impressed so many with the first few notes of 'Don't Stop Believing' like few singers could. After last season, I didn’t want to see another dog act win AGT, considering that there were a lot of equally good acts this season. Thankfully, a humble man who did this not only for his dreams, but for those who encouraged & inspired him to go after his dreams, especially those middle school students & his wife, he sought out on this journey, and became a real American hero. Oh they are. I have cousins that had him as their janitor growing up! They are both in college now, but they are who told me he was on AGT. They are all very happy and proud of him! Terre Haute has him perform at The Mill and he doesn’t disappoint there either!

Terre Haute definitely wont do that. They most likely will do a small concert if anything at the Hulman Center where ISU plays basketball and may have meet n greets at the schools with assemblies. The last time they actually let out school early for anything pop culture related was back in like 99ish when ISU played gonzaga in the NCAA tournament in basketball. They did a half day for that.

I live in Northern Missouri and was saying a parade because we live like 45 minutes from Kansas City and the last 3 Super Bowls that the Kansas City Chiefs won they celebrated with a parade and even our schools where I lived cancelled school each time so the people teachers included that wanted to go to the parade could attend. This last year is the only time there was any problems and unfortunately there was a shooting at the parade that killed at least one person injured others. It had nothing to do with the parade or the football team it was problems between a few people that had to make a joyful occasion into a blood bath. I’m not sure what the population of the town he lives in is but I think they definitely should be proud of him. My heart went out to him after hearing his story and so happy for him and his new wife. So happy he won,he deserved it. 👏🫶🏼

So many people here love Richard for his story… understandable…that helped him a lot. I love Steve Perry’s voice. He had a good tremolo in his tone. He didn’t scream on the high notes, he had weight in his voice. Enough said.

As someone who has sang as a 1st soprano singer for 20 plus years Richard deserves to win his range doing steve perry songs was incredible its not easy ive done several journey songs i know some have said he doesn't deserve it doesn't understand how hard and how high richards vocal range is the dog is cute but i felt more watching Richard congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉

As an Israeli I've been following the amazing Roni and Rhythm duo throughout the season and was hoping for them to win. They were SPECTACULAR, well done!!! when the finals happened I watched all Richard's performances and he was amazing, his audition brought me to tears. I don't think there was a better performance between Richard and Roni, its impossible to compare an amazing dance act to an amazing singer, but I am really happy for Richard, he deserved it just like Roni and Rhythm, well done:)

Roni and Rhythm have a great future ahead of them. Las Vegas next. I think they came second place because Hurricane won last year. Two talented dogs and dog trainers in a row as a winner will not happen. Richard has a great voice. He sounds like Phil Collins.

Richard's appeal is about far more than his "voice." He touched and connected with the audience (and the judges) in a unique and powerful way. It isn't about how a singer's skills are technically evaluated, it's about whether they make you feel something. Something special is conveyed from Richard to the audience and then mirrored back to him ini a continuous love cycle. This is the special sauce that distinguishes "pretty good performers" from stars.
