A fabulous video as always, with no need to apologise for it being lengthy. Really enjoyed your views on that Vixen and chatting about the fun that you achieved with it. You made a good point about the need to get the younger generation introduced to air gunning, very valid. Having enjoyed the sport for more years than I’d like to say it’s been my absolute pleasure to have introduce and involved my three sons to the sport. Years on they still enjoy shooting and recently even did some clay pigeon shooting which they loved. On reflection they’re now heading towards the ranks of middle age, where did the time go 😳 Looking forward to more reviews, cheers and thanks a lot 👍

Mate thanks for the positive feed back. It really makes it worthwhile putting the time and effort in when I get to see that people get some value from these videos. I do worry about the longevity of sport shooting in this country. We are facing huge issues in terms of the move towards lead free ammunition and the aging demographic involved in broad brush shooting sports in the uk. I find it immensely depressing that there is no unified, cohesive representation of all shooting sports in the UK. We all need to stand together, no mater what comes out of the barrel, bb, shot, slug or bullet. We are still a very niche portion of the population however if we actually respected each other and worked together maybe shooting sports could have a brighter future in our country.
@nickwebb9290 Жыл бұрын
@@gardenguns I wholeheartedly hope you’re right. And yes, legislation to further constrict our sport is a very real issue, be it having to use ‘dodgy’ non lead pellets (hopefully they’ll improve) to even the possibility of licensing our air guns. Hey, in this wacky world sadly anything is possible but importantly we need to show that us shooters above all are responsible people. Finally, thank you for your channel, it’s normal and down to earth 👍
@gardenguns Жыл бұрын
To pick apart the issues that surround shooting sports in the UK would take hours at best. However I truly believe it would take me longer to be able to detail the benefits. We have a serious issue with the general public. Those that are involved in shooting sports are a minority with a very poor image in the eyes of the mass majority. We need to sort this out.

@gardenguns Жыл бұрын
Hitting the metal knockdowns made more noise! It is quite noisy dry fired, however when fired with a pellet the shroud seems to work pretty well. Not whisper quiet but certainly takes the crack out of it. Hitting a metal backstop will make more noise.

@gardenguns2 ай бұрын
@@daver3250 Tough one. Both great air rifles. I haven’t had much time with the 510 tactical, however I have spent some time with the 510. If you need it to be really quiet then adding an extra mod to the vixen requires an adaptor and a large mod that matches the diameter of the shroud. As I would mainly use it for plinking I would choose the vixen as I won’t be hunting much with it and I prefer the overall feel an look over what is essentially a tacticalised s510! Hope this helps

For the UK market it is limited to 12 ft/lb. 16 joules is about 11.8 ft/lb.

hello nice video, do you know the short is much noisier than the long?

Do you have your scope mount facing backwards?
@karlmaddox12095 ай бұрын
You can face a cantilever mount either way depending on your eye relief, scope turrets etc. The vixen has a short section on the rail above the magazine well that isn't picatinny which means you may need to fit your mount one way or the other depending on the reasons I previously mentioned. I'd recommend 2 piece mounts to give a tad more flexibility in the positioning because of that short piece of non picatinny. Hope this helps

lvpo with a red dot? weird. and pointless. but do you i guess. red dots with higher mag scopes are used for fast acquisition, but thats what an lvpo is for by itself.
@gardenguns Жыл бұрын
The LVPO and 45 red dot is run by more than a few top IPSC competitors and 3 gun shooters. For mini rifle it allows me to zero the red dot at 15m and my scope for 50m. I can use the dot out to 25 and then transition to the scope for 25 plus. 2 zeros. One set up. However on this set up, it was more about having fun,rather than practical use!
