I have to say this is one of the most beautiful guitars fender has produced. I love it. And this guy is talented AF. A great player is needed to reap the magic in this guitar to the fullest
@Mabufu3817 жыл бұрын
i absolutely never understood the "you cant play metal on a Tele" people. Its a fuckoff huge slab of wood, with a sturdy as hell connection to the neck, a fixed bridge that weighs more than some bass bridges and the string tension always feels great on them. The cutaway is huge, even the standard singlecoils on a tele cut through a mix like a chainsaw with decent overdrive on them, the necks great for solo and you can play both in series to eliminate hum. really never got it, then again im massively biased as i play pretty much exclusively Teles and PRS SEs....
@Mabufu3817 жыл бұрын
also, i recognize all the Trivium riffs you play in vids now, you've made me a fan, i love in waves and the new singles are unreal!
@agufish7 жыл бұрын
Haha, me neither. You can play metal on anything. I think it's because they're usually so twangy. And yas! I'm glad you're getting into the mighty Trivium :)

Its all depends on the pickups
@Mabufu3817 жыл бұрын
Sovereign Hope i use Seymour Duncan nocaster 50s reissue low output pickups and get a pretty solid metal sound out of it even with the low output. That twang cuts through like a razorblade and you can get exceptional cleans for breakdowns from the neck pickup.

@@VossGiannis easy to change volume while playing, usually to adjust your prefered balance of clean vs dirty guitar sounds / volume on the fly. It’s similar to where a strat volume is located , perhaps not as close though.

Great review again, I have this guitar and have played it for about 2 years now. It is absolutely my favorite. Stays in tune and built like a tank. The issue you pointed out are the only issues I have with it. I constantly have to check my volume to make sure its all the way up and I could hear the battery knocking around at first. I was quite sceptical before I pulled the trigger on this one since it was made in Mexico but no fears it is very well put together. The finish on the guitar is designed to "wear" away easily and mine is finally starting to wear and I really like that. I've sold off 3 other guitars (EC1000,Zakk Buzz and a Static 600) but this one I cant let go of. It's just a better instrument comparitavely.

I hail from the 515, and I will likely end up with both versions. I loved the sound, and though I am still new, ive found that once you get a good quality amp, its so much more fun to pick up any of the guitars and work on your skills or, if youre far enough along, lay some of your frustration or love in the strings. I know mine helps me through some of my dark periods. I have too many expensive hobbies lol

Unless you just love EMG’s, I’d find a used Squier JR Tele and put whatever pickups and hardware you want on it. You’ll miss out on the case and ebony fretboard though. The case is available online if you really want one, but it’s not worth the price. It looks great but not very sturdy considering the price (I own one). Feels like a cardboard box compared to my PRS case. Anyway bought my Squier Tele a few years back, upgraded the tuners to Fender locking, and upgraded the bridge pickup to an SD Pegasus. Next step is to upgrade the bridge and nut, then I may consider upgrading the neck pickup.

I bought this guitar awhile back. It's a great guitar. But I didn't do my research on it. I paid more for it from a dealer online. I paid a little over $1400 for it after taxes and everything. My only complaints with it are that it's made in Mexico. Which I assumed since I paid 1400 for it that it was made in the US like his other models. Also the first one I received the frets were super sharp and the emg pickups weren't even connected at all. I changed the battery and nothing worked. So I sent it back and got a new one. It plays great but the case had a broken latch when I received it. Since I didn't want to wait another couple weeks to get another one I just kept this one. Also the only time I had it out of my house was to move to another state so it's never been in the sun at all and it's yellowed quite a bit in about the year that I've had it.

If I may offer a small critique, when you record your next guitar demo, I would love to hear a mix where the mids are a bit more pronounced, with a slight decrease on the bass. Another fantastic video as always, Hunter! Love me the Jim Root Fenders. I only wish they would bring that spalted red Jazzmaster he has to the public, but eh.

You should always put some tape around your batteries in your guitars any way. This helps to keep the connector on solidly and also prevents them from moving around. It also has the added bonus of sealing the battery should it decide to start leaking. Very unfortunate if that happens.

I don’t get this trend of getting rid of knobs. I want a volume knob for each pickup and at least 1 tone knob.
@luluskywo7 жыл бұрын
Every knob takes a bit of signal away and when you never use it why have it?. It's mostly for metal guitars made for live use (when you want to take away the most variables possible). Most guitars still have 2-3 knobs
@jugipesonen7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but do you ever really use them? I've relised that I always put everyting on full and pull the vol pot for coil split. I don't even need a tone. Also this is a signature so they made it how Jim Root wants it.
@waldotorres86007 жыл бұрын
Its not really a trend, but maybe is just from simplicity, i know exactly what i want on a guitar and how i would get my tones, so i dont really need the 4 knobs a Les Paul has, i only need a Master tone and Master volume because i preffer having 5 pedals for crunch, clean, low dist and high dist than having so many knobs
@hoodbrotown7 жыл бұрын
I do use them pretty often but even if I didn't I would still want the option.

It's not like people buy this to play country, they probably have a regular Tele for that.

I like your true blunt honesty when you review the guitars!!!!😊☺😉😇 I like when you say "Its not for me but its still a good guitar". The volume knob placement is a thing I see on numerous guitars and it drives me nuts. I have the same problem as you- ibanez does this with a lot of their guitars and I don't get it. There's a ton of space to place the knob- why does it need to be exactly where your hand is 90 percent of the time. It's one of the first things I look at whenever considering a new purchase.
