Just ordered the XJ-1…will start shipping by the end of January. I have both the see thru blue and red LTD XJ-6’s, both have SD mini humbuckers and are probably the heaviest guitars I own.

That new XJ is badass!! 🤘😎 I had a Blue LTD XJ6 with Seymour Duncan Mini hums. Cool guitar but I sold it because i never fully gelled with it. It sold for a couple hundred more than i paid for it Used. This new XJ spec wise is insane!! Might have to list some stuff now...

The XJ is a straight up modern metal surfcaster. Already backordered AF but they should have a good stockpile ready for rollout for major retailers. ESP really needs to start offering baritone options that aren’t strictly limited to the 7 string line up. The XJ would be the perfect baritone with the recessed reverse headstock. Throw a nice 27+ neck on that bad boy and that thing could chunk like a goonie

The XJ looks like ESP could be courting Slipknot’s other guitar player too. I really dig the single pickup Junior or LP special looking ones except I think they would look better if they lost the pickguard. I mean, it’s obvious they are “metal” guitars and that white one would be sick without a pickguard, the firebird one is really cool too. I’ve always wanted a Jackson Firebird so the ESP/LTD is probably as close as I’ll ever be able to come. Ultimately I’m an Ibanez guy and the new Iceman is just about exactly what I’ve been wanting them to do with the Iceman , if only they had rosewood or ebony fingerboards.

Are you making a video in depth about them? I was ready to order the old ec-201 but then ec-201ft came out...I don't know if they are any different other than looks and worth the wait for the new model...

I think they played it safe with a lot of these new LTDs. I.e. a load of HH models with Fishman Moderns and a solid colour or black burst if there's a wood top. And they still don't have the Fishmans wired up for the coil split, so they are clearly not using the new 3 voice versions. That being said, there are some really cool ones in there. The offset XJ looks awesome. I'm not usually interested in single pickup guitars if they are more premium models, if I'm spending a decent amount I want to get the most versatility out of it. But when they look that cool it's a lot more tempting. Why only allow changing between 2 of the voices of a 3 voice pickup though?! Is the aesthetic of having a single volume knob that important! Kinda crazy prices though! Just had a look after seing some comments here saying they are high...almost £1700 for that XJ-1. Same price for the Custom '87 which has such a cool body shape but no stainless steel frets. Almost £1900 for the Koa top Snapper which is one of the other models that caught my eye. The pickup config on that looks really good, will be interesting to see what this new 'exclusive' Seymour Duncan pickup sounds like. But yeah...with those prices people are gonna have to save up a fair bit.

This was what would look like a very well thought out informal post here bud but you got some rather false. We gotta make sure we know what we’re telling the less informed before we start talking specifics. First they’re swamp ash bodies with sandblasted finishes meaning tBut that’s neither here nor there. I shouldn’t have to explain what that means most people would know by seeing it. The one thing I wanted to correct the narrative on on your post is that they ARE wired and SET UP for ALL THREE voicings idk where you heard otherwise. They’re accessed with the push/ pull control, just with 3 clicks instead of 2. Personally I’m over fishmans. Not saying we need to bring back the days of throwing an 81 In the bridge of every ESP that comes out like the old days but let’s start giving the 57 some more love. After having my Sean long Charvel for over a year now that pickup in the bridge has really won me over compared to fishmans and the 81. When I pick up my eclipse with an 81 in the bridge it just sound’s anemic compared to how much the 57 fulls out the tonal range and has so much more aggression yet retaining all the articulation and harmonics you could ever need. I know you loved that guitar when you had it hunt but idk how you feel about the 57/66 set never seen you throw them in anything else after that I know you love your fishies. I mean after all you are the augfish only makes sense I guess 🐠 and I know I don’t even think my Lundgrens in my Mach 7 sound as good as expensive as those sell for per set but then again I’m just not a passive pu dude even tho the 57 is well ya know same same but not at all In reality it’s just a ploy to turn passive dudes over to the dark side 😈
