This was suga aka AgustD's answer to the haters that said he wasn't really a rapper because he had become an idol in K-pop. Before being signed to BTS he came from the underground rap scene in South Korea. He was a well-known rapper and producer in Korea before becoming a member of BTS.

Have you heard "Joke" by RM (he went by rapmonster back then). It's an oldie, but goldie. He got so much hate, so he responded with a joke, immitating other rappers poor or meaningless flows and lack of meaning. It's not meant to make sense. He goes hard, and I love it!

The solo work from the BTS rapline are all fire. They are worth doing an album reaction, in one go or song by song. And they are all so different in style so you'll get different things from each of them. Agust D (a.k.a Suga) is my favorite rapper because the rawness and emotion and passion in his lyrics and delivery. The album this song is from, "Agust D" is good, but my favorite is his second mixtape, "D-2". I can't wait for his third solo work, which should come out in the coming months. "The Last" and "First Love" are two of his most emotional songs. RM's latest album "Indigo" is such a delightful music journey and J-hope's "Jack in the Box" is a masterful storytelling. I love these two also, as well as their past mixtapes ("RM" and "mono" from RM, "Hope World" from J-hope).

Suga from BTS is from a town named Daegu. Agust D is Suga spelled backwards and DT stand for Daegu town. He is just spelling out his name. Unfortunately, the English acronyms (STD) is not common in Korea. Of course, if you're from America, your mind automatically goes there. This is really a great song that showcases his lyrical talent. This is why SUGA is my bias, he can flow on anything. Don't worry about the goofy part: being able to rap in 3 languages is more important. Having enough skill with language to rhyme and flow in and out is so much more impressive than making a song that sounds cool to an English speaking ear. Part of decolonizing our minds starts when we allow other cultures to inform us rather than thinking we gotta inform them.. I really like RM's Still Life track: its based around a misunderstanding of the word still life (in painting its a composition of flowers, fruit, anything that's alive but posed) as if it meant "still alive" or "alive even though it's not moving", and the resulting track is so dynamic because of making us think about the nuances of the words. I recommend you listen to RM's Joke as well if you want to enjoy more BTS rapine flow. Thanks for your reaction! Borahae 💜

His wording is very deliberate. Everything he does is deliberate. The whole chorus is sexual innuendos. Agust D is not Suga. He uses a different name for his solo work because he unleashes in his solo work in a way he doesn’t when with the group. ~ In the chorus ~ STD, I’m the d-boy, tongue technology, take my listeners to Hong Kong (take you to Hong Kong is a Korean euphemism for giving an orgasm.) He is basically saying he is turning you on and infectious.

Ahh rappers from BTS on their solo projects do what they want to do, there are hard songs and are more chill ones or fun or experimental, I like his style the best, but all rap line is great. I think also a lot of depends on what rap style you like, that it a big part. If we talk BTS songs and hard rapping, He goes of of on a few songs, I love his parts on "Dis-ease" , "Run BTS", "Dionysus", "Love is not over" (full version), all members go off in this songs... I love his solo from BTS albums: "First love" and "Intro: the most beautiful moment in life". RM also goes of in his old solo stuff like "joke" or "Monster". Jhope is more on chill side but he has few song that hit hard I think his new song "Arson" is like that.

Is this guy capable of giving a positive reaction to a song other than one from Niki Minaj. Every reaction of his is a master class in Passive aggression. He cannot seem to just enjoy a song 100% without the need to nitpick some part of a performance. He can't relax and just admit something is fire without first digging deep to find a problem with some point of every song he listens to. Even his positive reaction to a song is always marred by his need to give backhanded compliments. lnstead of finding something he can't "Vibe" with he needs to just chill and enjoy the damn song.

I’d say majority of my reactions are positive. There’s also plenty of songs I’ve enjoyed 100% and had nothing to critique! I honestly don’t mind it. He’s not rude and it seems like rather objective criticism. In some ways his reactions feel like a teacher explaining why he would have preferred to see things done differently while also pointing out what they like.
