just want to add here in Japan, the box changed from the previous K1. the new K1 S only come in in plain brown cardboard box compared to the nice matt black box of the K1. You also dont get the bigger AGV sticker now. the AGV helmets here in Japan are 'asian fit' models. not sure if its the shell thats diffrent or the stuff inside. hope this info helps!

Only grip with the original I have is that velcro patch, didn't know what was annoying my head till I watched your video on the first one. Then I knew and it seemed to make worse! Lol. Few weeks back ordered a bell from y'all to replace it. I'm finally home to trying it out!

This is not something I have experienced with this or the previous version personally. I have only heard this complaint a couple of times which leaves me thinking this does not impact everyone (we have sold a ton of the K1 helmets) or we would have heard it a lot more. @sportbiketrackgear yes, I believe it to be very small issue with only a few affected. Maybe I'm more on the round end or maybe long rather then a truer intermediate oval? Knowing agv, if I was a largely reported issue this version would have had something different placed there. A snap or tabs that tuck, for examples.

With the S they no longer offer the Medium Small and Medium Large sizes. These have been replaced with just the medium and large. The S is also ECE22.06 certified. Beyond that the helmet there are no notable differences between the models. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear Thank you! I noticed a few design differences as well. Chin vents and rear spoiler are a bit different. I heard the shield is different? perhaps flatter for less distortion. I can't find the details on it. But yes looks like what you noted are the two biggest differences.

I have the K1 and the most annoying part of the helmet is that velcro patch on the brow. After a few removals, the material starts stretching a slight bit but it's enough to expose the weak ass velcro and it scratches your forehead and leaves a black rub mark in its place. I can't imagine the K1 S being any different in that regard. I love the helmet, the profile, the comfort, but because of that velcro patch, I'm heading to another brand which pisses me off that I have to.

I have heard this a couple of times over the time the K1 has been on the market. That model was very popular with a ton of sales. If this was a wide spread issue that impacted everyone I feel like I would have heard it a lot more. Sorry to hear you had an issue. Perhaps you could try removing or replacing the velcro in that area and see if that corrects the issue. - Van

Reccomend a scorpion exo covert fx, even better safety for like 30 bucks more. same safety as like 700 dollar helmets for only 250.. great choice for protection at a budget

This was my issue along with the plastic strip of the neck shield wearing out when I had to wash the liner. The red tabs that clip the neck liner into place also broke free from the plastic shell and EPS over time, making it impossible for the neck liner to snap in place. It’s a comfortable helmet with great features but with a short lifespan. I had mine for two years but it’s too worn out to be comfortable and safe to use.

Your website say the sizes range from "S, MS, ML," *then* "ML, L, XL, and XXL." But, everywhere else it's listed as "XS, S, M" *then* "L, XL, XXL." And even in your own video you have the proper 2 shell with 3 sizes (Ea.) as shown at 1:16 . Why is that and why do you have 1 extra size that no one else has (The extra size is ONLY shown at the size chart below the listing)? Would love to pick one up but it's very confusing. AGV does a horrible job of supplying the dealer with info IMO. This is essentially the same helmet as the K1 with the exception AGV is no longer offering the Medium Small and Medium Large options indepently, replacing them with the Medium which covers both of the previous fitting from 57-58cm. Shell break will be XS-MD and LG-XXL

Comparing the two head to head I would say the K1S will be a little more open in a full tuck. The R420 is not bad, the K1S is just a little more open at the top. - Van

I have this weird situation going on with my new k1 where it makes this sound. The engine sounds like it’s ticking. When I look straight down at the tank it goes away and the exhaust sounds normal. Back up and it sounds super tinny and making this ticking noise. Sounds like it’s coming from the back of the bike. Kind of hard to explain but it’s annoying as hell. It ruins the whole sound of the bike. Never experienced anything like this from a helmet before.

To start I would try riding with the vents closed to see if this has any impact on the noise you are hearing. Next I would remove the liner and check to make sure there is no debri in any of the vents. If you see anything remove it then retest. - Van

Yes, the larger shell is not much bigger than the smaller one. With most brands the size large will have a little larger outer shell than a medium and under. Not a massive difference IMO. - Van

How are these helmets noise wise on the highway?

I have not ridden in this helmet but would expect some noise based on the amount of ventilation. Helmet fit has a ton of influence on noise production. Many rider who note excessive noise are riding in a helmet that fits too loosely. Make sure to use the size chart and get a proper fitting helmet that will seal around the neck roll. This goes a long way towards reducing noise while riding. - Van

I have not ridden in this helmet personally but do not expect a loud whistle would be normal. Make sure it fits properly (a helmet that is too loose will be noisy), there is not a vent in a weird position and the shield is adjusted properly. - Van
