The AGV Sport Modular is a high end, high feature all-carbon fibre modular helmet priced from $899 RRP here in Australia. Our editor, Jeff Ware, has been using a SportModular for the past four months, travelling around 10,000km in the helmet. This is his updated review, you can find more info and details on the AGV Sport Modular here - bikereview.com...
The AGV Sport Modular helmet combines the performance of a full face helmet together with the comfort of a modular. Entirely built in Carbon Fiber (shell and chin), this specific structure achieves the same protection performance of MotoGP’s Pista GP R in an incredibly light weight construction, combining the highest levels of comfort and safety.
The shell in 100 per cent carbon fibre is engineered in three sizes with a five-density EPS structure developed in four sizes. This structure offers an extremely safe and compact helmet at an incredibly light weight, ensuring protection is maximised, despite the modular design.
The chin guard is likewise 100 per cent carbon fibre engineered to guarantee minimum weight and great balance even in the open configuration, where more wind resistance will be experienced.
The shell shape is also designed to minimise the risk of impact energies being channeled to the collar bone, while a metal chin guard opening system is designed to prevent accidental openings.
The IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) ventilation features a large front vent, a chin guard vent and a rear extractor hollowed in the shell which direct air to the rider’s head without interference with the internal sun visor. Internal chin channels distribute the air flow evenly through the entire visor surface, helping reduce fogging and clearing the helmet as quickly as possible.
Pricing for the Sport Modular starts at $899 for the glossy carbon, and the helmet is available now at authorised AGV stockists Australia wide. For more information on stockists visit www.agvhelmets.com.au. AGV Helmets are imported and distributed exclusively in Australia by Link International.
