Hi hi hi, I'm really sorry for being gone for so long. I think the 9 month time-frame was mainly just a combination of being really busy with school and trying to find myself throughout the making of this video. After my last upload I realized that there were just a lot of aspects of my personal life that were drastically affecting me and my creative output. And I had to make sure that, before I could ever finish this one, I needed to take care of all of that. I can comfortably say that I'm genuinely in a really good place now and excited to work on new stuff for the channel. You'll never see me be gone for that long ever again don't worry LMAO.

Inoue really changed my life with vagabond. like REALLY. ( sorry for the rambling but trust me its worth it) it hit me so hard that it flipped a switch in me and i tried my best to understand it with my dumbass head and after my 6th read and 2 years later ( in which i ended up learning N1 japanese to understand the actual source material ) i finally understood it. after that i moved to japan nd started learning daoism or better known as taoism there and shinto and buddhist culture deeply for the next 6 years in which i also learnt Niten Ichi-ryū and now here i am currently living in japan as a kenjutsu assistant teacher, a simple life with not much money but the amount i need to live in with no regrets ( my goal in life is to emulate Musashi way of living as close as possible and follow his philosophy ) (im 28 next month btw). he really flipped my life to a whole different path which originally shouldve been a doctor( i even got admission to a med school but thanks to my supporting parents i was able to learn all of this ). and after talking to a lot of people over the years from different backgrounds like monks, salarymen, multi millionares and old people on their death beds etc on their world view and life and reading a ton of books this past decade i finally understood more or less of the world that Musashi saw with his eyes towards the end of his life. that nothing in this world no matter the quality of alcohol or the hottest woman or the most beautiful mansions and any amount of money can compensate u for the inner peace of ur mind which u can achieve if u have a mind as strong as steel and as flexible as water and very little distractions. ( I still havent reached it completely though im still like halfway on that ) every day i wake up with a smile on my face being grateful for the day and weather no matter what kind of weather it is on that day. even though somedays i do get irritated i still try to do my best. thank u Takehiko inoue for changing my life to this extent.

I didn't realize anything to this level thanks to Vagabond, but I can understand the overall feeling. I was at a point in my life where I was feeling great, but, at the same time, behind my back I was alienating myself from everyone I've ever loved because I was too mesmerized by my pursuit for status and my obsession for knowledge and power. Well, it feels all too cheesy if I put it in that way, but the point is that if it wasn't for this manga, my life would've continued to move towards a really excruciating path; now all that I can really say is maybe it was God's intent to make me read Inoue-san's work at that moment and see that I was not living my own life, but it was my ego living his life through me. Since than, all I'm doing right now is striving to become a good person.
@retruecano
@retruecano 29 күн бұрын
@@Tuber-sama in my honest opinion, the desire alone to become a good person is something only truly good people try to pursue. To become a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. Also learning to forgive yourself if you end up straying away from your path. So much to think about.

Hey Alex, I just finished the video and have to say this was really well made. I could see the strenuous amount of hard work that you put into this project. The edits are good, and the 3D renders are great. I especially love the scenes with the gallery; it feels like it's mimicking how Inoue would have exhibits of artwork, but instead you're showing off the work you put out and particularly on the topic of Inoue. On another note, this video was very informative. Prior to this, all I knew about Inoue was that he loved basket ball and was a mangaka, so thanks for giving me the chance to learn a little more about one of my favorite creators. Also "CHAMELEON JAIL" is such a silly name with an even more absurd story, and the million-dollar question is such a real thing too. I am nearing the end of high school and will be graduating in the next month and a half, so figuring out what I want to do and whether or not I'll enjoy it is a hassle. Lastly, I've never read REAL, but this video has convinced me to do so, so when I get the chance, I will. Overall this was an excellent video, and I appreciate all the effort you placed in this video and can't wait for your next video!(even If I have to wait another 9 months, jkjk)

As an aspiring novelist, I absolutely love going on these, admittedly abbreviated, journeys with you, just “spiraling” about the beauty of art. I haven’t read Inoue, but Musashi was one of the most formative reads for me as an adult, and seeing the themes in that in this video about his work, layered in between your appreciation might well have inspired an epiphany of sorts for my own art.

Hey alecks this video is amazing, what you do is simply outstanding and the message touched me partly because of how good you made this video to be, basketball has been the only sport I have ever played and I liked the idea of rebounds when I played it too when I was 15. I could connect to slam dunks story and the way you iterate it elevates it more. Since last 6-7 years I have only been studying uselessly kinda and I am the same age as you, and inoue takehiko when he started slam dunk, looking at how you are using your time how he did makes me feel even worse but, but because of that the message at the end is compounded even more. No matter what has happened, there is always a tomorrow a second chance, this video literally motivates me to do more and give my all into things. It's incredible how you can make a video which could connect so much and at the same time motivate so much. Thank you for making this. Look forward to all your future videos every year lol.

Hey man I love the video. I’ve played basketball for the majority of my life and when I left high school I felt hella lost without it but when I read slam dunk a year ago I knew that I wouldn’t want to do anything else with my life but play ball then my life took a switch I read hajime no ippo (I recommend) and I think that I’ve played basketball enough in my life and a hole has been within that needs filling and I think hajime no ippo really brought that out and I’m doing my best everyday to get better in my life to fill that hole (I totally recommend you should tots read hajime no ippo I honestly think slam dunk and hji are the best ever) all love brother ❤❤

But honestly I think it’s real because no matter what real saved my life and when I was reading it I learnt that there is hope and that I shouldn’t give up and I thank Inoue so much aye because when it went in deep about nomiya’s life in real I was such in awe I wanted to know what it felt like to amount to something and I pray and hope that I will somehow do something with my life ❤ alright I’m done lol

i will never get over how you’re able to create something to profound and beautiful, yet sprinkle moments of humor that fit so damn perfectly. your humor lifts the mood while you drop absolute gems of interpretation. thank you so much.

One of the best video I’ve seen on KZbin. Just like Sakuragi’s passion for basketball, I can feel passion for telling stories and making videos. The research, the scenes, your irl videos, the 3d renderings, music choices, your flows and pauses. God dang bro, it’s perfection

I've never subscribed to a patreon before but this video made me feel like I'd be a scammer if I didn't Brb gonna go read Real instead of sleeping Edit: 21 hours later and 78 chapters into real i can confidently say that it's a masterpiece. It's like if vagabond and slam dunk had a baby and if that baby was Jesus. I missed school but idgaf it was worth it

Goooood the level of dedication and detailing you put into your videos... and watching them get better and better by the one. Finishing a video is so rewarding and such an experience I really can't get over how special of a channel you've curated. The 3D work is so impressive and so flawlessly implemented!! GOD EVERYTHING JUST WORKS SO WELL
