Great video. Since Intermountain is an IDN, integrating mental health with primary care makes sense. The challenge is when you’re a PCP, that’s not part of an IDN. Cost savings aren’t an incentive, and the new Collaborative Care Model codes aren’t enough to sustain the program. Physical health conditions + mental health treatment do drive cost savings. That’s why AbleTo was so successful and one of the reasons they were acquired. Just delivering care to folks with anxiety/depression isn’t that much of an incentive because the cost savings aren’t that significant, and when you do realize the savings, it’s down the road. By then, the members are on another health plan, so the old health plan doesn’t get the savings. They can get savings when a member has a physical health condition and mental health condition because the payback is quicker. Amazing vids. I love what you’re doing, and it’s helped me grow my knowledge in this space.
