It is refering to the story of Hazrat Ibrahim who was put to test...that he was to be thrown in fire and if he was innocent he wouldnt get burned by Almighty s greatness. I don't know whether you would read this anymore but I couldn't resist to reply anyway. This verse is full of allusion It is about love or to use another Urdu word, Ishq. The poet Rumi, alludes to the occurrence of Hazrat Ibrahim (RA), when he was asked by king Namrood to either accept him as God or jump into a raging fire, Ibrahim RA, also known as Khalilullah, chose to jump into the fire for his love for God. There's is a cuplet by Allama Iqbal, which I think would make the verse easier.. Bey khatar kood pada Aatish-e-Namrood main Ishq Aql hai mehw-e-tamasha-e-lab-e-baam abhi... If you aquainted with urdu, you would understand it properly... Here is a loose translation of the above couplet: Without fear did love jump into the fire of Namrood Reason is remaining just as a mute spectator. Coming back to your query, the line you have asked about is the second line of the verse. I shall try to translate both for you. If there is fire, or light, you are the bestower of it and if there is reason, you are reason That I am a descendant of Khalil, and this fire is (of love) is sharp in me.... I hope this makes things easier to understand, if ever you read this. I would be happy if you need to more and contact me for that...
