Bro had multiple clients up the entire time he was levelling because he was using alts to phase himself to avoid waiting for mob respawns. Should've waited until after he was sure his game was stable again, but after that kind of a grind for 3 days straight with a combined total of 12 hours of sleep I don't blame him for not taking a second to even consider waiting. At the very least unlike the other two mages who were in the running for world first HC 2024; he died to his game client fucking up, and not because he fucked up his AoE farming.

Another thing, he couldve been running multiple windows so if he had 1 crash he could potentially still be logged in on the other. So thats 2 things. Theres probably more but im not a wow expert, theoretically you could say he had an infinite amount of other options than just blindly running back to aoe farming immediately.

Regardless, though, you can't ever predict dc's they happen even with all the precautions in the world, and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. I didn't watch his stream, so I didn't know it was an ongoing issue. He def should have done some troubleshooting. The OP said " he dc'd the first time etc" so I just assumed it was a one off. I was just speaking from my own perspective on the game. There's times I've dc'd once in months, and there are times I've dc'd multiple times in a row with no issues other than server/connection issues.

Yeah the client .exe crashing like that is an environmental issue endemic to his system; it's not addons, or server-related. If he checks Event Viewer in Windows, he'll likely see some Critical-level events in the log, and he could figure it out from there. I'm willing to bet his GPU is involved.

hes exploit layering, so basically even if he got 60 first, he didn't actually get it first, because to abuse any exploit is against ToS but for some reason streamers get a pass to 90% of the stuff that you and i would get our accounts banned for. example: call of duty although it isn't blizzard i understand, but it is activision whcih is the umbrella blizzard belongs too (people think its a partnership, its not, its an umbrella) a streamer showed an exploit he had been streaming for WEEKS doing, my IRL friend did it ONCE on his account, instant perma ban. But the streamer? Sitting on twitch with 12k viewers, doing it for weeks, 0 bans. My mate did it in 1 game, instantly perma'd. Streamer catering is what is really destroying gaming, not only are 99% of them are awful at gaming, but of that 99% id say roughly 60% of twitch streamers are straight up cheating/exploiting. Nearly every "high end streamer" in any fps game is a cheater, 100% using a Zen. Theres a reason why they never show you the "other pc" thats on the network but never on camera. Because thats how you zen something.

High risk high reward with aoe farming on hc. Had a mage on a hc realm, died on 48 due to a huge lagg spike. Even if hunters lagg or dc, they usually have 1 mob on their pet, and its on defensive so they are fine. Mages have multiple mobs while wearing cloth, its instant death.

My internet company decided to do a 40 minute outsge one night while i was playing my 54 hunter on hardcote last year. I was mid pull and logged back in 15 min later using my hotspot dead. Wasnt even upset just happy it wasnt something i could control. Would have been pissed if it was something i did wrong.

Ironically, the game running a Wine "bottle" on Linux has been rock solid for me. I don't know what kind of janky setup he has going there, but one game window on one humble little Ryzen APU system running Fedora Linux, and he'd probably still be alive.

there is one server but it has many layers. its like a server within the server. it allows several thousand, or 10s of thousands of players to be on the same server. if you can imagine the world you play in pasted over top of itself 10 times, layers 1-10. im playing on layer 1 but my friend who logged in later than me is on layer 8. we could be in the exact same place but we wouldnt see each other because while each layer is the same game it is also unique. some players exploit this by farming in an area and when all the enemies are dead they will switch to another layer, either with an alt or by asking a chat channel, and there are add ons to help do this too. it is 100% exploiting and one step below cheating.

Its just some sort of environmental bug. This bug happens on retail as well. I always hit a certain slope or staircase or tiny bump on the ground and it just causes a DC. Idk why it happens but its been in the game forever. It has nothing to do with his PC or his games running lol.
