Thank you for having her on here. It's great to see people studying various aspects of our body, especially something that's not often discussed. I learned something new.

I suffered bad back pain as early as middle school. I had a terribly pathological gait, hyper supine. By 17 the joints of my big toes were beginning to fuse. I have been on a quest since then to fix my posture, and have made huge progress. I wanted to add that only in the last year-I’m now 36-I’ve finally learned to discern the difference between bad pain, and the good pain of finally using and stretching underdeveloped and tight muscle. My hips were permanently fixed, and I walked by I sort of swinging my legs, rather than extending through them, teetering on the outsides of my feet. I’ve noticed the rigidity in my hips is mirrors in the shoulders. And in both my hips and my shoulders I now have this wonderful itchy sort of pain, as I finally learn to open up and extend through my limbs and toes and fingers, finally able to expand myself into all my muscles as they work in concert, as opposed to being used improperly as I moved my body more like a puppet than as a filled out being. We really don’t even have the language to discuss these concepts well! It’s fascinating the vast frontier of study this is! And I appreciate the work you’re doing. We really should look to cultures where survival has been more continuously connected to how well the people felt in their bodies, as there was a time in human history where bad posture would’ve been the difference between life and death in many instances. For twenty years I’ve been on my own quest to heal myself through my own deductive reasoning and intuition, and I’ll be happy to incorporate your research into that picture!

Esther can you define your interpretation of a "sway" back? A clinical "sway" equates to a forward shift of the pelvis coupled with a posterior pelvic tilt (Kendall & Kendall ) What you refer to is to my understanding a hyper lordosis...

Rest is to movement as day is to night - it is simply remembering what is already deeply inherent and deeply imbedded in our physique. How alienated have we become in the "developed" world.. sad but true.
