Emotionally insecure is the right word. On KZbin and Twitter I'd call it grifting or preaching something they know is not true to their audience. My example is Ahsoka episode 3. It's so good and true to the original Star Wars yet "fans" hated every part of it? I call that grifting. Also, in America, we have big problems with violence and public safety. They allow the worst of worst dealers, robbers, rpers, mrders, to operate freely. When the worst of the worst is arrested, they are released immediately. But these "Star Wars fans" choose to go after women, "waman" in Star Wars. As an American, as a patriot, it's frustrating to see my country fail this way. Even 3rd world countries are calling us out at this point saying they wouldn't live in our large cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, or the state of California.

Well, when Sam Witwer was asked he dismissed it although it's what you'd expect him to do. The interesting thing about that answer was that he didn't remember that he worked in Ahsoka and of course that would be a highlight for him if it was Starkiller. So, there are two possibilities, either Sam worked in the show because, as he have said multiple times, Lucasfilms always gives him something to do or he's just that good in misdirecting us and he indeed played Starkiller. For the time being I'm going with option one, Sam is such a fan that he wouldn't be able to conceal his enthusiasm. But I might be wrong...

Mon Mothma seemed to be the only one that respected and had a connection with Hera. They set that up very easily with her asking about Jacen, like two friends catching up. I have a feeling Mon Mothma believes Hera, but has to be very careful about stepping over the Senate committees to avoid being likened to Palpatine, especially in regards to military matters. I wouldn't be surprised if Mon Mothma tasks Hera with going to support Ahsoka and Sabine under the table in the Ghost with a small crew (Zeb and Rex, maybe even Kallus?).

BTW it's always been the case that the force resides in all living things and everyone can on some level use it... it just depends how much, how well and how much effort you put into learning it. Yoda has said this about a bunch of Clones. Kanan said it about sabine. George Lucas has always talked about the force this way. this doesnt take away from the fact that the skywalkers and yoda's species are especially sensitive to it, and can do more with it. They even stress how the jedi order wouldnt have accepted her because their established baseline isnt really there in sabine. But i think Ahsoka sees some kind of determination and motivation in Sabine that makes her see potential just based on that, and the little affinity that she does have. And even with that she doesnt need her to be a full on jedi, she needs her to use the force in whatever way helps her.

I love this as well. I hope this show gets into the exclusivity (and elitist) nature of the Jedi Order. I hope this show explores other Force users, how they were excluded or seen as inferior by the JO and what happened with them. We know there are *so many* other Force users out there and so many other aspects to it other than the Jedi/Sith Light Vs Dark Messianic/Saviour storylines we’ve gotten in the past.

I like to think of being Force-sensitive is like being able to sing. Some people can't sing well at all. For others, it just comes naturally, and still, others have to train hard to be a good singer.

Exactly this!! I love the idea of us seeing someone learn how to wield the Force without being a Mary or Gary Sue. We’ve seen Luke, the son of one of the most powerful Jedis ever known, be unbelievably naturally talented. The same with Rey and now, to an extent, Grogu. I love the idea of us seeing an underdog learning how to wield it through sheer force of will and determination, someone who had to actually work hard and succeed against all odds and I’m SO GLAD it’s Sabine.

@@44r0n-9 It worked that way with Luke...he didn't get any good until he got proper training with Yoda. He learnt a bit from Ben and that unlocked his connection, which seems to be required to actively use it. Yoda got him to harness it. Sabine likely needs the right trigger or training to unlock it properly. It's better that anyone can learn rather than the midochlorian crap. Surprised so many people aren't happy with it, since the midochlorian thing was a big negative for fans who watched the OT where that wasn't a factor and that the Force was in everyone as a natural energy field.

My thought is the same. Anyone can practice ballet, singing, play a trumpet, start to whistle, or start running professionally. There are factors that limit the space you improve, and the maximum you can achieve. Yet i have seen many with huge disadvantage still reaching suprisingly good result. I can't whistle. If it's important i still can't whistle. I hope they will stay on this course. Also we don't know her true potential, only what she showed. It is possible she is still blocking it, doing it wrong. We shall see.

Really loving the master and apprentice relationship between Ahsoka and Sabine. Finally cutting that tension off. This episode just left me wanting more. When it comes to Sabine and The Force i completely agree. I dont think they will go turn Sabine into a super powerful jedi. I think they are leaning more towards the idea of being enhancement of who Sabine already is. But with better jedi training and some type of connection with the force. I think this is something Sabine needs to understand herself. Favorite thing about modern star wars is exploring the force outside of the jedi and the sith like the nightsisters and the lasat. Also others like the dude from Rogue One people with the force that learn their own way of using it. Finally met Jacen Syndulla and he has a mini pauldron on his shoulder resembling his father's and has his rebel symbol on it. Pretty sure Auntie Sabine did that for him.

The thing about Sabine and force sensitivity. From my knowledge the Jedi Order chose the most apt children with the most noticeable force sensitivity, but that is also where they went wrong in my opinion. Even "lesser" force users could probably have been taught and from what Rebels and other "extra lore" I have learned it as a balance within yourself and the universe. It's like meditation in our world, I think anyone COULD practice meditation and many would benefit from it. But they create a barrier of "that is not me" and "I can't" without actually trying, and when you find your own way of tapping into that state you realize what it actually can be. I realized that long showers was how I used to meditate and it used to help my anxiety, I can now do that by just sitting on a chair. Sabine being any kind of force sensitive would only help the story imo, I would be more sad about her just being totally blocked off from it. But I also think that if she starts to be able to wield the force that she would do it in her own way. Her being a really good scientist creating weapons for the Empire as a Teen could be something to do with the force, that would not take away from her talent since that IS her talent. The force is everything and nothing. The blind monk in Rogue One wielded the force in a way, he just did not wield it in the Jedi or Sith-way.
@Hellbilly709
@Hellbilly709 Жыл бұрын
I’ve thought along these lines as well. I love that we’re getting into exploring other aspects and kinds of Force sensitivity and what that means for different people. The monk in Rogue One was obviously hugely connected to the Force, but in such a beautiful and subtle way. It’s like he was connected and surrounded by the Force, but didn’t seem to have the need or desire to control or wield it. I love that we’re exploring other aspects of the Force outside of the Jedi Order, which is incredibly elitist and arguably colonial institution. Since leaving the Jedi Order, Ahsoka herself has grown and evolved as a Force user and has arguably developed a better and deeper understanding than if she’d stayed in the order. I’m really curious to find out where we go from here!

I’m an absolute sucker for awesome training scenes, and this might become one of my favorites! Not only does it feel like so many classic samurai films, it also proves that Ahsoka isn’t training Sabine to be a Jedi, but a better version of herself. Though it would be really awesome of Sabine became the first Mandalorian Jedi in nearly a thousand years! As for the Senate committee, as much as I hate the old trope of “there isn’t enough evidence to support your crazy theory”, how many times throughout modern history has this happened, where a majority of politicians and government officials either don’t believe or don’t WANT to believe a long believed dead or weakened enemy has come back? Still seeing Jacen talking with Mama Hera about AUNT Sabine made my heart melt! Also, Ahsoka going out into space to fight starfighters with just her lightsabers is exactly the crazy ass thing Anakin would do with Ahsoka if you’ve seen Clone Wars!

The biological devirestiy in that Kat mentioned plays a huge role in Star Wars considering force sensitivity, as opposing to our planet and only one humanoid species, racisms is not a made up topic to degrade poeple who are basically exactly the same as you, but a concept that every species have to deal with, much like in the Elder Scrolls series. The physiology of the Togruta (Ahsoka) gives them additional senses like echo location, so they don't have to use their force sense to know what is going on around them, but it makes them vulnerable in combat, since they are fragile, mandalorians are a very racist group believing in "pure blood" and so on, so they are almost completely pure human, wich is one of the least force sensitive species, that much like the Anzellan and the Ugnaughts have to rely on their technological expertise to compete with other species. Through Ahsoka now we know, how some humen still were able to become so powerful, since she implied that dedication can improve the connection, which in most cases would fall short in a society like the mandalorian one, that mostly relies on their weapon based tradition.

About Sabine and all of the Force Sensitivity stuff: George Lukas himself mentioned in an interview a whiiiiiile back, that Everyone has the force. But not anyone has the potential to fully use it. But you can train. He made a reference to karate. Everybody can take lessons and be okay in it maybe. But only a few are really great. And these few could become Jedi. You can see it for example in Han Solo. He is doing insane flight manoevers, so you could say he dips in the force at these points. Without really knowing what he is doing. He is calling it intuition maybe. So. Everyone can train/use it. But not everyone will be a Jedi. You need to train, but with maximum effort you could maybe use it for an amount. Obi Wan for example was never really gifted well with the force. This is legends and canon. But he trained like a maniac to become the powerful Jedi master he was.

Your reactions are always special, you 2. This episode has Emmy Award-winning Production values splayed all over it. Loved the space battle and the unique starfighters (imagine those vs. Din Djarin's N-1, which I've coined, The Nighthawk?...in the future, maybe?). Very World War II-inspired. Yes, Sonny: Within 2 episodes of seeing Huyang in action, I thought: I really hope the creative team for The Acolyte were in contact with Dave Filoni, and sought to include the 25,000-year old droid in their miniseries, depicting The Golden Age of The Jedi and The Republic. Yes, I'm very much sold on the idea of Marrok being a (canon) version of Starkiller...only, I believe he is a special, secret (even Darth Vader knew nothing of his existence) experiment project, ordered by Palpatine/Sidious (meant to be a member of The Emperor's Hand), that was created on Mount Tantiss at Weyland (first depicted in The Bad Batch)...this kind of stuff would be right up Dr. Hemlock's sadistic alley...a modified clone of the actual, now-deceased Galen Marek. Imagine if We get to see the real Galen Marek in the Final Season of The Bad Batch, in the same laboratory complex as Omega and Crosshair?! Connections, parallels, and connections... Well, Kat: One of the biggest heroes of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative, is: Avar Kriss, a very powerful, layered, flawed Jedi Master, who virtually saved an entire star system, using her very special, unique powers with The Force. She could easily be your Sister...just look at the cover art for the inaugural novel, Light Of The Jedi, for proof. Better yet, take a gander at The Art Of The High Republic, and you'll get very excited. And, it is true: You would like Omega, who is a clone of Jango Fett's long-lost Sister, Arla Fett, who was a natural blonde, to his natural dark hair. And, if/when Shadows Of The Empire gets re-canonized in both print and Animated form (by Filoni and his Team), the character of Guri will likely show up in The Mandoverse, and maybe even the upcoming video game, Star Wars: Outlaws. P.S. Thanks for the Danish word of the day. Rummet...sounds cool...and would make a good name for a character in The SWU. And, I'm not AT ALL BOTHERED by the lack of mentioning of Midichlorians in this show....the "M-count" easter egg applied to Grogu, was just enough. Till next time, May The Force Be With You...

I too like the idea that Ahsoka isn't necessarily training Sabine to be a "jedi". She's training her forms...sure...but also it makes sense to me that training the connection to the force aspect of it is something they have to discover for themselves. Often we too have to train forms and let that little extra something "click" for each individual. Learning to ride a bike is an example that comes to mind. You train them how to ride (train forms)...but how they balance the bike in order to use those forms...has to click with each person individually for themselves. You can't necessarily train that. But once balance "clicks"...then filling in the forms is easy. I like how she told Sabine to start small. And Sabine may never BE a great force-wielder...but once she learns how to connect, she can probably very effectively use what she has to supplement her already impressive skills as both Mandolorian and engineer. Love the reappearance of the whales. I kinda hope they have to get swallowed by one in order to make the jump to the new galaxy.

I am “Back On My Bullsh_t™” this week, because I went from 90% sure last week to dang near 100% sure that Marrok is *some version* of Starkiller now that I heard Sam Witwer’s (heavily modulated) voice coming out of Marrok’s helmet. Go compare it to General Kael’s voice in the Willow show, it sounds nearly identical but with perhaps slightly more digital manipulation. It’s interesting that they only credited Paul Darnell (the stunt actor who wears the suit) this week. Darnell is the same size and build as Witwer, and has said before he’s not playing Marrok, “only” doing the stunt work. I can’t help but wonder if they saw the fan predictions and theories and all the scrutiny Witwer’s name in the credits got last week and removed it this week at the last minute to try and preserve as much of their reveal as they could? For those who didn’t see my comment last week, I’m so confident it’s Starkiller because of comments Dave has made about Starkiller in the past, and because of the Mortis gods symbolism. To recap: You have Ahsoka. We saw in TCW that she comes to be both the literal and figurative embodiment of The Daughter, and the light side of the force. Morai has been following her around for years at this point. This is the most concrete connection; the most obvious. But then we go a step farther. Who represents The Father? Not Ahsoka’s literal father, obviously, because in the galactic scale he’s pretty irrelevant, and certainly he doesn’t have force significance. But Anakin? They always had more of a brother/sister dynamic interpersonally, but a master is like a parent to a padawan in form and function. Teaching, instructing, growing, nurturing. Ahsoka was, in many ways, his *force* progeny, even though she clearly wasn’t his literal kid. But remember, Anakin was something else before he was Vader, and even before he was Ahsoka’s master. He was the chosen one, who would *bring balance to the force* according to prophecy. What’s the Father’s whole bag? The *balance* of light and dark. Anakin directly walked both paths, light and dark, and was the chosen one who it was believed would bring balance to the force. He’s the Father. Ahsoka is The Daughter. So who represents the Son on the dark side of the force? Well, Anakin had one other apprentice. ONLY one other apprentice. A male (again, Son) force user Anakin trained in secret to use the dark side of the force when Anakin was known as Darth Vader. A character Dave Filoni told Sam Witwer directly (according to Witwer) that Filoni considered making an Inquisitor to begin with in Rebels. Galen. *Marek*

I like the scene with Hera and Senator Xiono, it was very telling. We saw a bit of this during the Mandalorian. People who never fought in the war against the Empire are now leading the New Republic. Hera, showing that she is her father's daughter, has no time for politics, and as a result angers the people she needed for help. As for the Senator, he seems to look down on her for speaking her mind, no wonder this government lasted barely three decades. Plus, Am I the only one that hopes that the Eye of Scion is designed to connect to Thrawn's Star Destroyer Chimaera? That they will use it to bring the ship home. I will cheer if they do that before the show is done.

The narrative is changing about the Force but it is changing back to something that Lucas originally thought. Filoni and Faveau have had some good discussions of how they want to go forward with storytelling and some things that extended worlds in Star Wars have changed where it was suppose to be. Honestly the person I think that has the best insight on it was Freddy Prinze Jr. So many SW fans hate his take but from a storytelling point his view is more valid rather than where things have gone with games and writings. The Force is going to have a more global view and not a narrow Jedi/Sith view. Its all about balance and that is classic in the old stories from the far east where the idea of the mysticism comes from. The force is a character in that fight for balance and will be present everywhere. That is if they take the story into the future and get away from the story paradigm that Star Wars is stuck in with the movies.

However the way Kilo Ren, who was trained in the force since childhood for like 20+ years lost to Rey because omg her FORCE is so strong literally killed that trilogy for me more than most of the other issues with it. Kilo Ren was in my opinion a character that had so much potential if used as a straight up villain or anything other than the BS man child they made him. I hope Sabine doesn't just get an out of nowhere unlocked her force and its insanely strong moment. I want to see how in the star wars universe someone trained as a jedi like shin would fare against someone like Sabine trained as a warrior but with limited force powers, maybe just enough not to get choked out or flung all over the place lol.

Hera is it really wise to trust Chopper to take care of Jacen? 🤣 Love that they did his hair green. 😄 Also fuck you senator Xiono, as Hera implied you are just a coward. Same for the rest of them, Mon included. 😈 So Sabine is getting the hang of the Jedi combat precognition however still can't do telekinetic feats. But as Ahsoka said training is more important than innate talent. Damn those Purgil were giant and beautiful. Really nice seeing them on live action. And we finally got Marrok talking. Still think he is a new unnamed ex-inquisitor, maybe they are going the Galen Marek route here. 🤔 Like how Ahsoka is doing a different type of approach to Jedi training. And she is right, the old Jedi Order methods failed to see the Sith threat hiding and walking amongst them. By the way, those fighters reminded me of old airplanes from WW2.

9:53 *NOT COMING* lmao, Sonny knew all too well. I believe on the reel rejects one of the guys mentioned how they were kinda glad to see the New republic get rekt in the sequels due to the incompetency we've witnessed from them thus far. 😂👍 Additionally, I think Ahsoka *was* using mag-boots for sure, which is why she needed Sabine to "get her" otherwise she was just left floating in space...hopefully a ret-con of the "force superman" BS that Leia literally pulled outta her ass in Ep. 8. I'm all for different & cool force abilities don't get me wrong but using it as an invisible rocket thruster was a bit farfetched for most I'd wager. 😂

I'm gonna wait before passing judgement, but I TOTALLY agree with Kat. I just cannot understand why they would make Sabine full-blown force-sensitive. Why is it not enough for her to be a skilled Mandalorian fighter who happens to use a lightsaber? In Rebels she didn't even necessarily need one, so I don't understand why they have to shoehorn that in there. But as I said, let's wait and see what they do with it. The way they're setting it up does heavily suggest that that's exactly what they're gonna do, though.

I like the idea of Sabine being like Donnie Yen from Rogue One, channels and flows with the Force, does not master it. Bo Katan used the Dark Saber well, does that mean she is Force Sensitive? Is that why Mandalorians are so rarely Jedi? Their martial training shunts their powers into different expressions?

It also took multiple people training Luke to use the force effectively. The ability to use the force shouldn't be determined by superior genetics when you are born, having them makes it easier to access and use but not having those genetics shouldn't be a total lockout from the Force, otherwise the Force wouldn't exist in the person, it's supposed to be in everyone and everything, right down to trees and rocks.

However I'd really like to recommend you watch The Bad Batch, not because it's some kind of lame fan requirement but because it is really really good. I had trouble getting into a lot of the animated content, Clone Wars especially just because I prefer the Rebellion era. I thought Rebels was great when I got around to seeing it but I have to say Bad Batch totally blew my mind, the quality of writing is as good as anything I've seen in live action. Also even though she is animated Omega is totally awesome and Blonde and I think you would like her.

@@KatSonny Ok cool. Don't let people on the internet get to you. There are people who call themselves "fans" but they are not. They are using Star Wars for their own agenda here in the United States. Negativity gets more clicks than positivity on KZbin, TikTok and Twitter. We are compelled to click and respond. We collectively have to ignore content that triggers us because all they want is that engagement for ad dollars. So it's sad to see good content like Ahsoka part 3 get slammed even though it was a great episode. It's disappointing that in America and the UK that some men think their moms, sisters, and daughters can't go on space adventures. These same men and women ignore the violence and drugs and insecure borders of America and focus on women in a fictional sci fi show. It makes you see them differently. Beta men pretending to be alpha men while dealers pipe their wives and daughters for dime bags.

I don’t think this contradicts anything we knew about the force previously. It just tells us more. “Talent is a factor”. Anyone is capable of becoming an olympic athlete with training and discipline, but some people are born with natural ability that gives them a big advantage. As for midichlorians, we don’t know a great deal about them. Can the m count change over time? Is it like muscle mass? Can you increase it through exercise? Is it an absolute measure of force ability or just a correlation? Does a high m count cause someone to be a powerful force user or does being a powerful force user cause someone to have a high m count??

@@KatSonny Yes, lets take a moment and go over something that I have noticed. i have enjoy watching your 'reactions' to many movie moments. I have returned to watch a few times now the reaction to the re-appearance of Luke Skywalker. But I have also noticed something that is hard to find the right word to describe...but today I will find it. When a KZbin creator wants to get hits and gains from posting videos, they get a lot of their traffic from just the little photo of the video seen in the many video listings. Thats how I found you. I had watched many other Reaction videos and for reasons I dont understand, there was soon a listing for a reaction video that you posted on my computer screen. But while Im sure it had a title, I think all people will notice at first is the little "thumbnail" photo . You may choose the name of each of your videos with care, yet its actually the little photo thumbnail that catches the eye. So my guess is that this thumbnail accounts for a large number of visits to your videos by people who have never heard of you and dont know anything about what your video is about. Thus that thumbnail, and the way it appears, and the way the people in the thumbnail appear are the "image" you are projecting into the eye of the viewer. So what about your thumbnail,,,what about the photo of that thumbnail caused me to click on it? After much thought at finding the correct word to use to answer that question, I have decided that this word that discribes your past thumbnails is...... "Intriguing" The thumbnail showed two people that both were projecting a look that was intriguing. It is by accident or by design, an image that catches the eye, and makes a person want to find out more. I would suggest to a KZbin creator that while content of their Reaction video can be "hit-and-miss" at times, what needs to always show you are on top of your game is the way the thumbnail displays an image that is , intriguing. so...when I say that it's starting to look like someone has started to display a change of 'style"...Im really saying that it kinda looks ....less intriguing.

There’s nothing to be cancelled as the series hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet. And Filoni was also a big part of Mando season 1. The only reason why the series might not get a second season would be because of poor viewership ratings. But since streaming services don’t release their data, we don’t know for sure. Plus, the first season hasn’t even finished yet. So let’s just wait and see, yeah? And regarding the quality of the show - that’s 100% subjective. Some people like it, others don’t. That’s how it always is.

@@KatSonny The series is not going to be renewed we all know it. The Ahsoka low viewership numbers are one of the lowest ever for a Disney series. The show has bad dialogue, bad acting and terrible storyline. The show is garbage. Filoni had minimal input in Mando season 1. Mr. Filoni should do what he does best.....Cartoons. Sorry, but I have to be honest and I am a big Filoni animation fan. It takes years of training to master the Force. Sabine is supposed to be a mando and likes mini remote explosives. She does not need the force. She just needs to practice skills from blasting, bombs, and swordsmanship. That is it. No force powers. Just competent skilled and maybe beskar or portable shield generator.
@KatSonny
@KatSonny Жыл бұрын
Again, we don’t know the precise viewership numbers, as they don’t release their data. Disney reported 14 million for the first episode, and a third party reported lower than that. Who to trust? I don’t know, and honestly don’t care right now either. We’ll see what happens in regards to a potential second season. And no, Filoni and Favreau worked closely from the beginning, that is very well documented. As to the other stuff, don’t be sorry about being honest - but remember it’s your opinion, it’s not fact. I happen to really like Ahsoka so far, and think Filoni has done a good job outside of animation. I’m not gonna render my judgement on the entire series, as we’ve only seen three episodes so far. That is *my* opinion. We clearly disagree on the quality, and that is fine. Neither of us are right or wrong, as it is purely subjective.
