Speaking of people having trouble with the Force, Zayne Carrick from the KotoR comics who has a weird connection with the Force. Anytime he tries using the Force, it almost never works as he intends it to. As the story progresses, we learn that it's a unique trait that doesn't just affect him, but other Force Users around him. His presence makes using the Force a gamble. it might work, it might not, or it might do the opposite. That made it very interesting. Because he himself didn't have to be powerful to contend with other Force Users stronger than him, because when he's around, the Force is effectively in a state of Confusion. So the more powerful you are, the worse the side-effects could be. In general though, you either Are or you Aren't Force Sensitive. It's not a skill you can pick up. You can learn to Resist the Force without being Force Sensitive, but you can't just learn to use the Force without that Sensitivity. The only time I can recall non-Sensitives using the Force was in the Jedi Academy: Jedi Knight PC game, and that was only because an Ancient Sith Artifact, the Scepter of Marka Ragnos, had the ability to absorb Dark Side energy and could imbue it into other people. This allowed the Dark Force user Tavion to swell the ranks of her forces with Darkside Users by imbuing normal soldiers with the Force using the Scepter. However this was always temporary. And when the Scepter was destroyed at the end of the story, everyone who'd been Force Power from it had instantly lost those abilities. Stating that their powers were explicitly tied to this Sith Artifact acting as a Medium and once it was destroyed, they went back to being normal, non-sensitive people.

@DrTimes99 Жыл бұрын
@@willfanofmanyii3751 It's poetry. It rhymes. You introduce the child of the "mentor figure" and then don't have them participate in the rescue of the "old student"? It's why some people were hoping that Rey was related to Obi-wan. Tropes like these exist for a reason. They have cathartic narrative resolution. Unless Jacen participates in the story, his inclusion is superfluous. A Chekov's gun that never goes off. He should be about, 12 years old or so, considering the show takes place about 10 ABY. According to different sources, Rebels ended at 1BBY, but I'm not believing that Ezra at the end of that show was 18, maybe 16, I'm putting the ending at 3BBY. Anakin was 9 when he joined the Jedi order and Ezra was 14 when Kanan began training him. No reason why 12 year old Jacen shouldn't tag along and get trained. (A normal thing in SW). What's more, it rhymes with the concept of the young kid traveling with our heroes. Clone Wars had Ahsoka, Rebels had Ezra, even Bad Batch has Omega. This show is attempting to be a sequel of sorts to the first two, so it makes sense to follow a similar structure. The way to do it however, is that Jacen would need to be a distinctly different character than the others. Not self-assured like Ahsoka, not untrusting like Ezra, not sheltered like Omega. I'm rambling, the point is it would flow with the overall narrative of the story for him to be there, allowing for viewers to notice parallels and foils with other characters.

*Andor* After I rewatched Andor yesterday, it's now my #1 best and favorite of the Disney+ SW series. It plays out like several different movies in it. With Cassian, it's like The Fugitive (1993) after the first 3 episodes. Then it becomes a heist film, then a prison break film, and then In The Line Of Fire (1993)/Vantage Point (2008) that leads to a riot. We forget Forrest Whitaker who was in Vantage Point makes a great appearance as Saw Gerrera again. With Dedra, it coincides Cassian in prison as a court drama. Then all kinds of stuff happening with Syril, Luthen, and Mon Mothma. This might be peak Star Wars and it's funny because it's the least like Star Wars. Tony Gilroy explores the people on the ground-level and basement. There are no Jedis here. Nobody who is Force sensitive. They're just the everyday, blue-collar people dealing with the Empire. Notice Gilroy didn't use too many aliens. He had mostly human characters. No goofy aliens to cater to children. And his characters act the most realistic from any SW. Andor is like The Godfather of Star Wars. I might prefer it over The Empire Strikes Back which sounds blasphemous to me. But rewatch it. I know it can be slow. The conversations with Dedra sounds like the courtroom drama in Oppenheimer's last 30 minutes. But the payoff from some of the slower, heavy dialogue scenes makes it all worth it after you see Ep 6, 10, and 12. Only Live-Action SW I've Seen 1. Andor? 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. The Mandalorian 4. Revenge Of The Sith 5. A New Hope 6. Return Of The Jedi 7. Rogue One 8. The Force Awakens 9. Ahsoka 10. Obi-Wan Kenobi 11. The Phantom Menace 12. The Rise Of Skywalker 13. The Last Jedi 14. The Book Of Boba Fett 15. Attack Of The Clones 16. Solo 1. Original Trilogy 2. Disney+ Series 3. Prequel Trilogy 4. Sequel Trilogy 5. Anthology Original Trilogy had the best characters and films in them. A great and simple to follow story with arguably the greatest cliffhanger with Episode V in cinematic history. It's now the ugliest visually even with the touch-ups from the SEs. But c'mon, it had Vader, Yoda, and Han. My three favorite characters of Star Wars. Disney+ series ranked higher than the Prequels and Sequels thanks to The Mandalorian and Andor being superior to Revenge Of The Sith and The Force Awakens or whichever you think is the best film from each trilogy. Disney+ series is also the most visually impressive. What a waste of a budget showing it for streaming. Prequels had the best lightsaber duels. It got to expand the galaxy further. But it's below the Disney+ series because as much I enjoyed Revenge Of The Sith, the writing is not superior to the script Jon Favreau did for The Mandalorian and Tony Gilroy did for Andor. Prequels arguably had the weakest dialogue and acting. The CGI from 20 years ago is starting to look dated compared to the newer SW. Sequel Trilogy had potential to be better than the Prequels but was brought down by Rian's poor characterization of Luke. I actually watched parts of The Force Awakens yesterday and it actually holds up pretty well. Showed so much promise for the newer characters. But The Last Jedi completely ruined them. Once The Rise Of Skywalker came out, it was too little, too late. Nobody cared by that point. Real quick, I actually feel bad for Daisy Ridley. What did she do wrong to get so much hate? "She ruined Star Wars" because she's a female? And SW nerds wants dudes especially white dudes like Anakin, Luke, and Han as protagonists? Lucky Latinos in Pedro Pascal and Diego Luna have penises or angry nerds would start sounding racists. Daisy didn't write that shit. Rey wanted a family since she was a scavenger and Rian's "Jake" Skywalker kept refusing to train her. Then she becomes overpowered and labeled a Mary Sue because so many nerds were pissed at Rian, Kathleen, and TLJ. Daisy doesn't come off as Brie Larson or Rachel Zegler. She seems nice but people hate her Rey because she's overpowered or a girl? I think Rey gets overhated for the dumbest reasons. I'm not saying Rey is a great character. She could've been if she was written better. I'm not dying to see her next SW movie. I just feel she's overhated and the writers messed up on her and Kylo Ren as great SW characters. Neither one got there. Wasted opportunity. Anthology is ranked last because we only got 2 films. Rogue One is the best Disney SW film but Solo brought the Anthology down for me. Had it only been Rogue One, I'd place Anthology 4th since Rogue One is better than SW Ep 1, 2, and 7-9. I think it's written better than Revenge Of The Sith but I probably enjoy ROTS more. Tony Gilroy is the best director among all SW content creators. Better than Lucas, Kershner, Filoni, and Favreau. Andor and Rogue One have the least resemblance to a typical Star Wars film but remain 2 of the best from the franchise. My 10 Best Episodes From Disney+ SW 1. One Way Out (Andor S1E10) 2. The Eye (Andor S1E6) 3. The Rescue (Mando S2E8) 4. Rix Road (Andor S1E12) 5. Redemption (Mando S1E8) 6. From The Desert Comes A Stranger (Boba E6) 7. Return Of The Mandalorian (Boba E5) 8. Part VI (Obi-Wan E6) 9. Part III (Obi-Wan E3) 10. The Prisoner (Mando S1E6) Honorable mentions - The Sanctuary (Mando S1E4) underrated The Marshal (Mando S2E1) fun The Jedi (Mando S2E5) a bit too slow Part V (Obi-Wan E5) Ahsoka hasn't given us a great episode yet. It may get there. I'm with John Campea where I don't love Ahsoka yet. I still have my issues with it and it's not necessarily the slow pacing. Andor can be very slow too with lots of dialogue from Dedra and Mon Mothma. But I believe Ahsoka has potential to be great once we get transported to this different galaxy that Thrawn and perhaps Ezra are in. On IMDb, the scores for Obi-Wan is lower than TBoBF. But I think TBoBF kinda cheated when they brought back Din Djarin to save that series. TBoBF Ep 5 and 6 should've been Mando S3 episodes. I still consider TBoBF worse than Obi-Wan. At least Vader kicked ass in Ep 3, 5, and 6 of Obi-Wan and we got to see Qui-Gon. IMDb Scores The Mandalorian: 8.7 The Book Of Boba Fett: 7.2 Obi-Wan Kenobi: 7.1 Andor: 8.4 Ahsoka: 8.1 My Favorite Characters From Disney+ SW 1. Kino Loy 2. Din Djarin 3. Grogu 4. The Armorer 5. Peli Motto 6. Luthen Rael 7. Cassian Andor 8. Darth Vader 9. Obi-Wan Kenobi 10. Luke Skywalker 11. Greef Karga 12. Migs Mayfield (love Bill Burr!) 13. Mon Mothma (moved up a few spots) 14. Vel Sartha 15. Maarva Andor 16. Bo-Katan Kryze 17. Cad Bane (wish we saw more of him) 18. Dedra Meero 19. Ahsoka Tano 20. Shin Hati Honorable mentions Cobb Vanth Baylan Skoll Andy Serkis as Kino Loy is a top 3 performance from him only behind Gollum and Caesar. Better than when he voiced Snoke. He was only in like 3 episodes in Andor and I felt it's his best character as a human. He was so intense. I know Grogu is just to sell toys but I still adore the little guy. That little 50-year-old green baby. Vader is really my favorite SW character but I'm only basing it from performances in these Disney+ series and we only saw him in like 3 episodes of Obi-Wan. Vader is my 2nd favorite movie character of all-time only behind RDJ's Iron Man. My top 6 are Iron Man, Vader, Batman, Yoda, Indiana Jones, and Han Solo. Three of my top 6 comes from the OG SW Trilogy. And four came from George Lucas. FYI, never been a fan of Hayden's acting. Don't care if Prequel fans defend him. Way too wimpy and whiney for my taste. This is why ROTS has fallen a bit lately. Prequel fans overrate the shit out of it and I watched ROTS 3x in different formats (regular, digital, IMAX) that first week. ROTS' writing is inferior to Andor's. "Hold me like you did by the lake in Naboo." I personally like Obi-Wan more than Kino and Luthen from the entire Star Wars franchise, but Kino and Luthen were more interesting in Andor than Obi-Wan was in his own show. Giving us too much Reva didn't help. Such a shame Carrie Fisher died. She would've loved that little girl portraying Leia and taking selfies with her. TBoBF was mostly slow and boring those first 4 episodes. Then the weak finale. Obi-Wan had a few brilliant moments and some kickass Vader scenes but then had the dumbest writing like men having a hard time chasing a little girl and Obi-Wan hiding Leia under a trench coat with hundreds of Stormtroopers and Imperial officers walking by and nobody notices it. I know when the trailer for Andor S2 comes out, nobody will really care. But I can't wait for it. I think S2 will make Cassian's death in Rogue One more meaningful for the sacrifices he had to do. And I like that S2 is the final season. Tony Gilroy knows not to wear out his welcome unlike other directors who keeps making worthless sequels or seasons. Andor is now my new heavyweight champion of Star Wars. OG Trilogy had the best characters and maybe the best music but Andor wins at everything else and the characters and music are pretty good already. Didn't use Volume tech like the other series did. Many scenes were in real locations. The most depth in story and characters I've ever seen from Star Wars. We have it good now, people. Yeah, I know the lightsaber fights aren't as good as the Prequels. But I think the Disney+ SW are mostly better than the Prequels and Sequels. VFX looks flawless like jumping from PlayStation 2 and 3 to PlayStation 4 and 5. Once we get to the gist of the story with Ahsoka maybe by Ep 5 or 6, sky is the limit. It can be as great as Andor even after a slow start like Andor had. Let's get to this new galaxy with Ahsoka and it's going to open up so many possibilities in terms of story and introducing new characters and worlds. And this can eliminate people asking how come Luke wasn't hanging out with Ahsoka all those years or 20 years before he met Rey? Because Ahsoka was in a different galaxy.

I would bring up the fact that there are two kinds of "The force" The Living Force, and The Cosmic Force, and in the old lore, those without midiclorines could learn to tap into the cosmic force like a wizard could, and that's how magic worked on old worlds and how some robots and sith artifacts had the force in it. @4:50 Actually in both Germany and Japan following the end of the Second World War, leaving many of the same officials in positions of power was a brilliant move. As one-party fascist states, you could not have those jobs without being a member of the party, which means that many of the officials who pre-dated the party's takeover joined up purely to keep their jobs, while others who came after frequently joined the party because it was the only way to be hired for the job they wanted, not because they actually subscribed to the Party's ideology. What the Allies did was remove anyone tied to major war crimes, and leave the rest in place, as a functioning bureaucracy was of paramount importance to maintaining some semblance of stability in the absolute chaos that followed the end of the war. And it worked beautifully, producing strong, stable, prosperous and pacifistic states in both cases. By contrast, if you want an example of what happens when you remove anyone and everyone tied to the old regime from their positions after a war, look no further than the Bush Administration's infamous "De-Ba'athification" initiative after the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. To accomplish this "uprooting" of Saddam's Ba'ath Party, they fired everyone with ties to the party, which means they fired the entire Iraqi civil service as well as the entire Iraqi Army. This had two disastrous effects that combined into a perfect storm of shit: One, at a time where the country's infrastructure was shattered by the war, it left no one in any position of power who actually knew what they were doing, no one who knew how to fix and run any of it. And Two, it put a million armed Iraqi men out of a job, while they still had their weapons. Disgruntled ex-soldiers who took their guns and equipment home with them would form the solid core of the Insurgency that we had to fight for over a decade, while the absolutely brutal incompetence and corruption of the brand new, totally inexperienced civil service only fueled the anger of the populace, which increased support and recruitment for the insurgency. The end result twenty years later is a hilariously corrupt, teetering wreck of an attempt at democratic governance. The point is, the New Republic leaving former Imperial officials in place is not a stupid move in the slightest. Failing to properly vet and monitor them most definitely IS, but the core idea is completely sound and backed up by hard-won lessons irl.

I wouldn't heap too much of this on Filoni. Good writers are not infinite fountains of storytelling. Filoni probably had tons of stories he wanted to tell, but when Disney wanted an Ahsoka follow-up, maybe he just didn't have anything great bouncing around in his head. This is why shows like this shouldn't just pick popular characters that are marketable. Writers and directors should pitch the story first, not the premise.

Since force sensitivity varies among people, it does seem possible that there is a group of people in the middle between people who can't do anything with the force, and people who are Jedi or Sith. The Star Wars Saga Edition TTRPG basically had any living thing (so not droids) with a reserve of Force Points they could use to try to force successes on difficult rolls. The rules described such individuals as 'not knowing about the force, neither that they were actually using it, and only being aware that they were trying really hard in that moment to succeed'. Actual force-sensitive characters and jedi, however, could use their Force Points to do a lot more.

I always thought that the force was something that EVERYONE and everything in star wars has a connection to in SOME degree or another, its just that some people and or species have a stronger connection than others. Which is what allows them to do things like become a Jedi or Sith. It is NOT however something that someone can GAIN or become stronger in if they never had it to begin with. People either have a strong connection or they dont, and those that DO simply have to learn HOW to control and wield it, NOT make their connection stronger.
@SlavicHavoc Жыл бұрын
Yoda says something to that effect while training Luke, that the force flows through all living things. It's just that only a few individuals are force sensitive and are capable of actually interacting with it. That's something you can't learn nor be taught. As a real life example, not many people are able to wiggle their ears, yet everyone has the muscles needed to do so.

Lucas has originally intended that anyone can use the force, but it takes belief, dedication, and training to actually wield it. It comes more naturally to some than others. Where the confusion comes in was when midichlorians were introduced making it seem like a genetic thing, but I believe later it was clarified that the midichlorians aren’t what gives the force, but the stronger someone’s connection to it is, the more they’re attracted to them. Disney had no understanding of what was meant by anyone can use the force and just started slapping it on everyone without the least bit of dedication or training and basically made it like pixie dust where all you have to do is believe. TL;DR: Lucas’ intent was that anyone with faith, dedication, and training could use the force (to varying degrees), but Disney ignores the dedication and training parts, and just gives the force to anything that claps their hands and says “I believe”

Episode 1: Depressed over the loss of his first student at his academy, Luke Skywalker is consoled by his friend Ahsoka, who reminds him that the Jedi order will not be easily rebuilt. In an attempt to distract Luke, and get him to focus on what matters, Ahsoka suggests they undertake a mission to retrieve what learning and training materials they can from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Upon arrival on Coruscant, they are met with a coalition of civilians who revere the Jedi Order from the era of the Republic, and view Ahsoka as a living legend, while Luke prefers to remain anonymous. They provide a honored escort for both of them to the temple, where Ahsoka is struck with nostalgia and sadness for the days of her youth, and her friends and companions. The temple has been reconstructed and stripped of all Imperial symbology and artwork, and looks brand new...but it's vacant, creating an eerie feeling of sadness. Their voices echo through the vast halls as Ahsoka explains to Luke what life was like during the days of the old Jedi order. Upon reaching an intersection, Ahsoka freezes in place and slowly looks to the left wing, contemplating for a moment, she decides to beckon Luke to follow her, when asked where they were going, she replies "to your father's room". Entering Anakin's old domicile, they are hit with a wave of dust and cobwebs, the room had been sealed since shortly after order 66. In his room they find old relics of Anakin's life, droid parts, a spare glove for his robotic hand, spare robes, lightsaber parts, and a picture of Anakin and Ahsoka with Rex shortly after the battle of Christophsis. Ahsoka fights back a tear as she wipes the dust from the image and is clearly distraught, Luke rests a hand on her shoulder to comfort her, when suddenly a foot locker at the base of Anakin's bed slams open, creating a loud clatter that resonates throughout the room and hallways. Luke and Ahsoka are immediately drawn to this new phenomenon, and investigate the locker. There is not much in it, old dusty papers, a few outdated republic credits, and a holodiary. Luke picks up the diary and it immediately turns on without anyone activating it, which startles both of them. On the hologram, is a 10 year old Anakin, talking about how lonely and depressed he feels at the temple, and how the other students do not respect him because he started his training at an older age. Luke feels a sense of connection with the young boy's feelings, but suddenly a new hologram appears on the screen, it's Anakin at an age shortly before Attack of the Clones, and he appears frustrated, the message is garbled, but among the emotional outrage they can make out just a few words. "can't belive.... after..... so much time.....suppose this.... outbound flight is no more..... Obi-Wan seems upset." Then the device powers down. Luke and Ahsoka look at each other puzzled, as the device wont respond to their commands to replay the message. Ahsoka assures Luke that it's an old piece of hardware and likely prone to glitches, like the garbled message they just heard. Ahsoka seemed fixated on something, while Luke continued to examine the room, taking a picture of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padmè Amidala into his robe for a memento. Ahsoka reminds Luke that attachment leads to obsession, but gives him a wink and says "it'll be our secret". Beckoning Luke to follow her, the two converse in the hallway, moving at a slightly faster pace. "For some reason, I feel like we should investigate this 'outbound flight'" says Ahsoka, to which Luke replies "how would you ever be able to find anything on it? The Coruscant libraries were purged of all Jedi texts, and I doubt anyone from that time is still around" replies Luke. "if you want to know something, there's one place in all the galaxy, you need to be.... here", replies Ahsoka as a door opens, the Jedi archives slowly power up, and holobooks and terminals begin flickering to life. Luke stands in bewilderment over the scale of the Jedi library. And from a corner of the archive, two yellow eyes pierce an untouched darkness, a mechanical voice echoes throughout the vast halls, two blue lightsabers ignite, illuminating the darkness of the space occupied by the strange person "unauthorized personnel detected in Jedi Archives, identify yourself and-... oh, Padawan Tano! What a relief" Ahsoka takes her hand off of her lightsaber hilt as the two blue blades retract, "I know that voice" she says "Huyang?" "I must say, seeing you alive is a much needed relief, I suppose I can now take your name off the registry of the dead, something I never get to do". the droid exclaimed happily. "I am just as relieved to see you intact, old friend" Ahsoka replied. "Master Skywalker, may I present Huyang, lightsaber architect and weapons historian for the Jedi order" Huyang bows respectfully, and Luke reciprocates. "Pardon me Padawan Tano, but did you say 'Master Skywalker', you may not know this but Anakin Skywalker, your master, never surpassed the rank of Knight, and in any case, this man is no Anakin Skywalker" said the droid. Seeing how this affected Luke, Ahsoka stopped the droid from speaking further, "Huyang, we're opening a new training temple and will have need of your wisdom, would you do us the honor of taking up your old post?" The droid waits a few moments, and responds "as the old order is no more, and seeing as how I have nothing else to do, I suppose it only makes sense to help rebuild, just as I helped oversee the reconstruction of this temple, and it's archives." Luke looks at the droid curiously, "Master Huyang, are you saying you have the entire Jedi archive stored in your memory?" The droid turned to Luke and replied, "that is exactly what i'm saying" Luke and Ahsoka exchange glances and turn to the droid...." Tell us everything you know about a Jedi mission, codename: Outbound Flight" END OF EPISODE I've done in 10 minutes what these Disney retards couldn't do with millions of dollars, and every celebrity at their disposal. Ahsoka Will be played by Kaili Thorne, someone with athletic ability and a history of dancing who can handle the athletic demands of Ahsokas fighting style, not a 45 year old feminist whos side flip looks like a senior citizen dodging an angry cat. Huyang will still be played by the legendary David Tenant, and Luke will be played by an AI assisted Mark Hamill. Each Episode will be 30 minutes long, with the last 3 episodes being an hour each. There is room in the story I've written for 16 episodes. NO Rebels characters, no nonsense with two mystery dark Jedi who don't do anything, I have a far more nefarious villain in my story.

Asoka was always stubborn in thw clone wars. It doesn't surprise me that she'd try to train a a non force sensitive in the force when the upside for discovering if it were possible is world shattering and frankly- because she'd just be giving Sabine the training Anakin and the jedi had given her, which I would expext from how she handled trying to get those captured younglings to fight the man hunters or when she tried to help the younglings fight the droids in the kaiber crystal sanctuary. The only problem is that *if this works and Sabine, a Mandalorian, learns to use the force from a little elbow grease and training,* it retroactively makes the Jedi order canonical idiots for failing to achieve the same results for 6,000+ years.

Sabine is like 15 years older than Luke and Leia right? That puts her well into her 40s at this time? Let’s ponder that and then think about her intro scene in the first episode of this series.

The pacing isn’t that of a TV show it’s of a movie cut into little pieces that aren’t satisfying in small doses. If this is meant to be binge-watched, release all episodes at once!

You're right, Andor is the best Disney SW effort by far, Mandalorian included, and orders of magnitude better than the sequel movies.

Doing Nothing is safer than trying to do something great because greatness can fail if you don't work for it whereas producing nothing meaningful just is and that works for Disney nowadays

Having people not be force-sensitive based on who their parents are is actually a good idea, it removes the boring chosen one trope, but that means you have to lean on the warrior-monk aspect, and keep the number of potential force users very small by having it require a very specific attunement with the universe to potentially be able to access it. Jedis would then be looking for children who show potential and train that mindset like a philosophy.

It wasn't family dependent though. Yes it could run in families but it also popped up, more than from inheriting the ability actually, in random people. Literally the Jedi Order took babies from families in the old Republic. They didn't breed for it. It was never something that needed to be changed.

The meeting with the senators really triggered me. All Hera does is whine about Thrawn and get rightly called out for wasting resources trying to find her dead friend. It also seems to imply that hera has no authority to deploy military assets whatsoever as a General! What that meeting should have been was Hera informing the senators that she sent a scouting force (fighter squadron and a corvette) to the location they tracked the stolen hyperdrive to, and discussing to potential need to mobilize the fleet to deal with something big enough to need a frigging SUPER STAR DESTROYER HYPERDRIVE! What we got makes the senators all look either incompetent or corrupt and makes it look like Hera is powerless to do anything on her own authority despite being a general.
