This is SO deep into Lucas lore people have NO idea. He was the one who said WE ALL have the force, we ALL have that something special inside us, BUT whether or not we can channel it, is up to us as well. I think they're gonna go the route of having Sabine be the first Mandalorian Jedi SINCE Tarre Vizsla. I know people want Grogu to be that title, but it just makes more sense for it to go to Sabine. And to see Ahsoka herself struggling to be a mentor feels right. After ALL...she DOES come from a line of not only non traditional Jedi, but Jedi who begrudgingly took on an apprentice, only to learn they were meant to be together. I LOVE A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT.

I cannot get over how cool it is to see these animated characters in live action. It still amazes me, and just how well they are nailing it. All the casting is so on point. And the score from Kiner is just sooooo damn good! Man, I haven't loved a Star Wars project this much in a long time. And Rosario is just made to play Ashoka. She brings her to life perfectly.

Hear me out here, I think they are setting Sabine to be like Chirrut Imwe from Rogue One, in the sense that he wasn't a Jedi, nor can he wield the force per se, but he was pretty atunned with it and that gave him an advantage even though he was blind. Now picture a Mandalorian with such fighting skills.

This Ep convinced me that Marrok is 100% a version of Starkiller, because that’s absolutely Sam Witwer’s (heavily modulated) voice coming out of the mask even though they omitted him from the credits (they only credited the stunt actor who’s wearing the suit in this one) for some reason. Compare his voice to General Kael on the Willow show, it’s nearly identical but with just a touch more digital manipulation.
@jasonmarbach Жыл бұрын
I was 90% sure after the premiere eps, mainly because of comments Dave has made and also because of the Mortis symbolism (seriously underrated part of the Starkiller theory), but this ep crystallized it for me when I heard Witwer’s voice.
@darthrevan5976 Жыл бұрын
@jasonmarbach7800 what mortis symbolism ? Not saying your wrong I just dont see it unless your talking about Sam voicing both starkiller and the son?
@jasonmarbach Жыл бұрын
@@darthrevan5976check it 😄 so, we know Dave loves deeper symbolism and allegory in general, right? For example, his using the names of the wolves from Norse mythology who chase the moon and sun (Skoll and Hati) as the names for Baylan and Shin in this show, and we know Marrok’s name (including the specific spelling) comes from Arthurian legend of a knight who gets turned into a werewolf. We also know Dave is famous for setting up story beats sometimes years in advance, patiently waiting to pay them off until the timing is perfect. On top of that, we know no one has done more for canonizing beloved legends characters than Dave. He loves doing it, he’s good at it, and he loves Starkiller. So. The Mortis gods. You have Ahsoka. We saw in TCW that she comes to be both the literal and figurative embodiment of The Daughter, and the light side of the force. Morai has been following her around for years at this point. This is the most concrete connection; the most obvious. But then we go a step farther. Who represents The Father? Not Ahsoka’s literal father, obviously, because in the galactic scale he’s pretty irrelevant, and certainly he doesn’t have force significance. But Anakin? They always had more of a brother/sister dynamic interpersonally, but a master is like a parent to a padawan in form and function. Teaching, instructing, growing, nurturing. Ahsoka was, in many ways, his *force* progeny, even though she clearly wasn’t his literal kid. But remember, Anakin was something else before he was Vader, and even before he was Ahsoka’s master. He was the chosen one, who would *bring balance to the force* according to prophecy. What’s the Father’s whole bag? The *balance* of light and dark. Anakin directly walked both paths, light and dark, and was the chosen one who it was believed would bring balance to the force. He’s the Father. Ahsoka is The Daughter. So who represents the Son on the dark side of the force? Well, Anakin had one other apprentice. ONLY one other apprentice. A male (again, Son) force user Anakin trained in secret to use the dark side of the force when he was known as Darth Vader. A character Dave Filoni told Sam Witwer directly (according to Witwer) that Filoni considered making an Inquisitor to begin with in Rebels. Galen. *Marek*

I think the reason why the new republic seems so ineffective especially compared to the rebel alliance is because it isn’t just the rebels i think what that scene with hera does really well to point out that ties in to andor and even the mandalorian is that the people furthest from the actual conflict always end up making the choices in the end and politicians especially are opportunistic rather than practical. The parallels are even there for our reality look at how our politicians deal with potential crisis vs the ones staring them right in the face

Shortest episode so far but still a marginal improvement from the previous two thanks to the faster pacing and less dead silence. Actually enjoyed the early scene when Ahsoka trained Sabine. The music from Kevin Kiner of Rebels fame is starting to grow on me since I like old Japanese traditional music. Very relaxing. Sabine training felt like a Karate Kid/Cobra Kai scene. Ahsoka is paying homage to Kurosawa and the many Japanese influences they had on Star Wars. I'm starting to think current Ahsoka is a cross between Mr. Miyagi and Yoda in Empire. She did start showing more emotion in the space battle. A level of concern. She had her most Rosario Dawson moment in it hearing more of Rosario's real voice and tone. Great to see Jacen Syndulla and Mon Mothma in this. Mon was in her mid-40s in Andor (5 BBY). She's about 59-60 now in Ahsoka's time (11 ABY). It seems from Hera's words that Thrawn is going to be a huge threat. Bigger threat than what Moff Gideon brought. Coolest scene was Ahsoka in that space jumpsuit. It didn't look ridiculous. They pull it off that it looks cool. It could've looked stupid like Moonraker or Leia's Mary Poppins scene in The Last Jedi. I thought seeing those star whales was cool. Reminds me of The Phantom Menace's underwater scenery but the scene looks prettier. When Ahsoka's ship landed in those red-leaved trees, it looked like the start of Star Trek Into Darkness. So it's pronounced Ma-rock? I thought it was Merrick or Ma-roke like I thought it was Sa-bin but it's Sa-bean. I streamed Dial of Destiny twice today. I still think it's the worst Indy film but I'll download it once the Blu-ray rip is out because I prefer mp4 over mkv and I'm completist with my favorite franchises. I watched Last Crusade after DoD. Made me realize life is too short. Sallah is in his mid-40s in Crusade. Then 34 years passed and he's a grandfather. I can tell a Shin vs. Morgan duel is brewing. Shin says Morgan sarcastically that, "Congratulations, you almost got them." There's going to be a fight between these two. Overall, I thought Ep 3 is a little better. Not leaps better but it's progressing enough nicely. The special effects in this are spectacular. It looks better than the OT SEs and Prequels and way better than The Flash. Ep 3 was short and that's probably the biggest complaint and not much of Baylan in this but you can't please them all. If it's too long, it's boring. If Ahsoka talks too much, she's annoying. If she doesn't say much, she's boring. Everyone will whine about everything. I'm starting to dig Hera more and more. I liked her in Rebels from the 10 episodes I saw from it. We forget Mary and Rosario already worked together in Death Proof (2007). I've looped the first two episodes of Ahsoka like 2-3x today after seeing them twice and this series is slowly growing on me. I'm thinking because I have nothing else to watch but I'm getting more invested into these characters. It's still not as good as The Mandalorian S1/S2 and Andor yet but I can see Ahsoka being at least better than Obi-Wan and is already better than The Book of Boba Fett.

As much as I want to say that Marrok is Ezra, it doesn't make narrative sense (in my mind at least). I would be glad to be proven wrong but he sacrificed himself so that evil wouldn't prevail. it makes extremely little sense for him to become an inquisitor to destroy the peace he sacrificed to create..... I personally have no clue who he could be but my best bet is either Starkiller (albeit unlikely) or some other legends character that Filoni saw fit to introduce to us...... it will be a good reveal either way

I like the idea that Ahsoka is less stoic and more friendly vibe when it's the right relationship. Because she's been educated as Jedi after all. Like from outside, and that's kinda the point, not everyone knows the Jedi personally to a level of showing vulnerability. Like, not everyone knew Anakin the way Padmé knew him, not everyone knew the Jedi generals like their clones commanders did, not everyone knew Luke like Leia, Han & Chewie did. I'm glad she's willing to go back to that more carefree place--- with her padawan.

ONE MORE THING I think greg that you’re forgetting how important Kanan was in steering Ezra away from the dark side and how sure he was in his identity as not only a jedi but a person because Kanan didn’t just train him he raised him as well. Definitely nice to see Ahsoka and Sabine working together again after so long. While I don't think Sabine will be some epic force master by the end of the series, I do think she'll at least be able to do some stuff with the force. Who knows, maybe Jaycen will become her Padawan by series end, and if not hers then maybe Ezra's. As for the conversation as to who the Inquisitor could be, I see it possible as being 1 of 5 options, either just a completely new character that we've never met before in Star Wars media, Ezra, Starkiller, Barriss, or Mara Jade. While I don't think it's super likely, I can see where Ezra could be the Inquisitor, mainly in that he is still on the side of the Rebels and such, but he's playing the long game and playing double agent for the Rebels, gathering info and such and waiting for the right time to reveal himself. They definitely could have made Starkiller the Inquisitor, and give him some history with Vader if not just outright doing the secret apprentice thing like in the games. Not to mention, from what I understand the Inquisitor's name is supposedly Marrok or something like that, and Starkiller's name is Galen Marek, and Marrok and Marek sound pretty similar, so maybe it's a "hidden in plain sight" sort of hint to the fans. Barriss is definitely an option as well. It would be fun to see her and Ahsoka "reunite" after what happened between them. Maybe they could bring back her live-action actress from Attack of the Clones I believe it was for the role. Mara Jade is the completely out of left field pick, but still a possibility. For those that don't know, long story short is that in Legends Mara Jade is Luke Skywalker's wife who formerly worked for the Emperor and the Dark Side. She's a character the fan base has been dying to see for quite a while now, and it's possible she could be the Inquisitor in this show, though I'm not sure how much of her Legends stuff they'll end up canonizing if it is her. As far as other characters I think could show up, I'd say Rex and Zeb are definitely possible and are very likely. Besides them though, Cal Kestis, Mando and Grogu, Bo Katan, Keleren Beq (if he's still alive post-Return of the Jedi), and maybe someone like Omega (if she's still alive post-Return of the Jedi) or something are all possibilities, however likely or unlikely, as well as probably some others that I didn't mention.

@@yurmomsaccount My hate for it is not based on antagonism, but upon the facts. Actually I feel so bad for Daisy Ridley. She's a fantastic actress and yet her talent was wasted, upon a bad writing. There's a reason why ppl didn't like thing like Witcher s2 and 3 and SW sequels and the recent Indiana Jones movie. And that is the fact that you must respect the lore and the person who created these universes and established these characters. But that's my opinion, dude. And I respect yours completely.

I think it's that the Purgil hang out near - and stay with me on this - 'naturally forming' hyperspace lanes, just long stretches where going into hyperspace is easier, kinda like riding a wind current or a sea current. Im guessing building a hyperspace ring at one of those naturally forming lanes would make sense, it would be easier to use those. I wrote this comment right before Huyang explained the whole thing so lol, I totally forgot that he did. Anyway, this was actually a really good episode - especially the second half. The first two eps were so so, and i say this WANTING this show to succeed Also, no spoilers, but pretty sure that Marrock is BEN SOLO, or Ezra Bridger, or KANAN JARRUS or DARTH BANE, DARTH MAUL, DARTH SIDIOUS' clone, any one of them

Agreed the villains are great in this and so are the heroes! Ahsoka is so damn great to look at and such a badas$! But Shin Hati the blonde force user who stabbed Sabine is soooo captivating! She just has to sit there and it’s intriguing. I have a feeling or at least I hope that they keep her around for the future of Star Wars because I could see them doing some interesting stuff with her character. Plus we haven’t really had any true female villains in any live action Star Wars projects have we? And her Master is incredible as well! He fits the part soooo well! I truly believe that he is a a semi -evil force user assassin who went rogue after order 66.

Well, Ahsoka in the animated series is much younger. She’s probably middle aged here, right? Most of us aren’t quite as spirited in middle age as we were in our youth. 😅

Two things: 1. I love Ahsoka's Super Saiyan space suit! She's giving "Prince of Saiyans" vibes LMAO 2. I love that the Purrgil show up when Sabine is driving the ship, and how they seem to help them with their escape; it's almost like they sensed her. It might be a stretch to say that it's possible they sense her connection with Ezra, but I do love that they seem to have a connection with her, especially since Sabine hasn't seen them since the day Ezra disappeared.

Ezra being an inquisitor would betray the ultimate sacrifice, and Jedi action he took at the end of Rebels. It would completely go against all of the character development that they put into him. Now, him working With Thrawn maybe in a tension filled way I could see happen.

Yes, it would destroy all character development of Ezra. It's like Grogru coming back in episode 1 of season 3, after in season 2 all quest to handle Grogru to a Jedi. Hope it's not Ezra.

The inquisitor has a bad leg or back. In every shot where you see him standing still he has an extreme lean to one side. If you want to figure out who he is, then look back at the lore for someone whom was injured and would have a lean like that. The lean is 100% purposeful and is meant to be a hint.

I liked that “ learn to anticipate “ line when they were in a Star War. Reminded me of “use the force” line when look was trying to shoot the Death Star. Only Sabine basically said shut up! I thought this was funny and a distinctive difference between the two pads wand that show you why Luke became such a powerful Jedi.

I’m an absolute sucker for awesome training scenes, and this might become one of my favorites! Not only does it feel like so many classic samurai films, it also shows how ANYONE can be open to the Force in Star Wars, as long as they not only have the talent but the willingness to be open to The Force, which goes against many of the teachings of Mandalorian culture. As for the Senate committee, as much as I hate the old trope of “there isn’t enough evidence to support your crazy theory”, how many times throughout modern history has this happened, where a majority government officials either don’t believe or don’t WANT to believe a long believed dead or weakened enemy has come back? Still seeing Jacen talking with Mama Hera about AUNT Sabine made my heart melt! Also, Ahsoka going out into space to fight starfighters with just her lightsabers is absolutely an Anakin move if you watch Clone Wars!

II have to say that I was/am never a big fan of Star Wars, but I think this series is so good and swtcw (especially the Mortis arc) because it's about mythology and the origin of the force and other galaxies.
