While, yes, this is entirely accurate it also points to a nice subtle bit of storytelling. After all the villains knew who they were after and those particular droids were basically walking bombs with a *huge* area of effect blast. Level of planning that quietly says a lot about our baddies being at least mostly competent...

The music for Ahsoka was done by composer Kevin Kiner. He is best known for doing the music for The Clone Wars, Rebels and Tales of the Jedi. I was both surprised and curious to see what he'd do for his live action Star Wars project. He did not disappoint here. Looking forward to hearing more of the music for the rest of the show.

I felt like Ezra sort of grew up out of his crush on Sabine as he matured, and got to the point by season 4 that he had bigger more important things to focus on rather than romance. While I'd be perfectly happy to see something happen between the two of them, I do think that by the end of Rebels he had come to see Sabine as a sister, and that this is what they're going with

Quite a few reactors I’ve watched seem to question Ezra’s line, and while I guess I do understand their confusion, I’ve always felt like Ezra’s crush on Sabine was just that: *_a crush._* It felt a bit fleeting and immature in my opinion. Nothing real or tangible, like what Kanan and Hera had. And it seems like Ezra eventually grew out of it. Sabine herself also never showed any indication that she felt that way about Ezra lol. She never encouraged or returned those feelings.

Rebels especially is hard to bring into Live Action accurately because of how stylized it is with the character designs & whatnot, so I can easily give a lot of leeway with it.

Marrok is a Sith Inquisitor, with blood red lightsaber blades, Shin Hati, Baylan Skoll's apprentice, wields an orange and/or burning red lightsaber blade. Hers and Baylan are Dark Jedi/Fallen Jedi and their lightsaber colors are apparently called "Righteous Fury" 🤔, which is what Dagan Gera in Jedi Survivor bleeds his yellow lightsaber into once he starts seething about the Jedi Order having "abandoned and betrayed him" 😓.

43:44 it's not really friendzoning, cause that would require Sabine to have romantic feelings towards Ezra, which she never did. I personally think it's great, cause we never really see much of that in media, a person having a crush and then moving past it and develop a more platonic relationship. It's usually that the other person ends up falling for them, and they get together. But it's a good lesson to show that not every crush pans out, and that's okay.

Yup - Ezra had a kids crush on the pretty girl he just met, and as he got to know her more dropped it. I don't think it's even really referenced at all past late S1 early S2 that I can think of. And especially after Jedi Night and Ezra growing into his full Jedi-ness he definitely saw her as family and a rebel comrade in arms & not as a love interest. Plus, Filoni has straight up said they're not an item and won't be as long as he's alive :P

I personally love the fact that Ahsoka and Sabine relationship is very rough it reminds me of how Anakin didn't want a padawan and then Ahsoka showed up as his padawan he wasn't very fond of it obviously their relationship grew as master and padawan but it just goes to show how similar Anakin and Ahsoka are very similar.

Baylan Skoll is played by Ray Stevenson, who unfortunately died after filming this role. He also played Titus Pullo in HBO's Rome which was sort of the precursor to Game of Thrones. Rome is definitely a show you should consider checking out, especially if you like Ray Stevenson here as he's a main character. It's not a very long show either as it was canceled due to being too expensive.

Don't know if anyone pointed it out yet, but that moment in the episode at the 40:27 timestamp is definitely supposed to be a recreation of that shot of Ahsoka and Sabine at the end of Rebels! with a couple differences but it is definitely that scene, meaning the events we've seen during episodes 1 and 2 happened right before the ending scene of Rebels! Hoping we get to see Hera and Kanan's kid at some point though XD and for Zeb to come back because man they couldn't have just made the CG Zeb only for that Mandalorian cameo

Personally I loved these episodes, very glad that they banged out most of the scenes from the trailers in just these 2 episodes, all the best Star Wars projects have been doing that lately, only using stuff from the 1,2,3 episodes and leaving the rest in mystery. I’m not 100 percent sold on Hera and Sabine yet but that’s just cause the voices are different, like I know that after a few episodes my Brian will make the connection, same way it did for Rosario and Ahsoka. Loved the action, the callbacks, and the set up for the story. People have been complains it’s to full of dialogue and too slow, but PEOPLE it’s the first two episodes and we have 3 duels, a shootout and a prison break, AND got relationships between characters established AND got the conflict/plot laid out for us One of my favorite little details was one of the guards in the security detail fumbled his blaster trying to pull it on shin/balen, just showing his inexperience, the new republic is not all hardened vets of the civil war, it’s just whoever gets a job. Anyway king comment, but I got whitening strips in and am stuck here for another 15 mins so I got time. Maybe after Ahsoka/TLOU there might be a sci fi show slot for *The Expanse* hmmmmmmm?

It’s all about aptitude, a natural force wielder can tap into it with very little effort, but even someone like savage opress could be taught to use it, though there’s no evidence he was a force wielder prior to his transformation (now idk what sort of force powers nightbrother have in general, but all night sisters do have the ability to use magik, so idk if this is a good comparison) basically there’s still a chance maybe? Or maybe Sabine has a very specific force power? Like Ezra was talented in connection, Quinlan Vos and Cal are able to use force sight to see the past, maybe Sabine has a weak kind of some other specialty rn that need to be developed

@@frenchiekolsson Just look at Luke. There was no indication that he had any connection to the force, until Obi Wan started training him. There was 3 years between A New Hope and Empire, and he could barely force grab his light saber. And even by Return of the Jedi, how good was he with the force? And this was years of him actively trying. Sabine started her training under Kanan, with the Dark Saber. He even said that she needed to connect with the Saber. How could she do that, if not through the force.

Hey, Primate! Hope you are well! I do keep up on news, speculations, trailers, etc..... But I can talk to you without giving away anything not in these first two episodes. A lot of what was in the multiple trailers was seen in these two episodes.... but not everything. Seeing Chopper in Live Action was a real treat! We know what a savage he is. I didn't do Reaction videos for the trailers, because I've been having issues with my editing software.... however, with that said, I did go back through them, frame by frame in a few places, and had pretty much deduced that Morgan Elsbeth was indeed a "Nightsister". They showed a short clip of the green "flame" under the map-ball, before it rose a little and the giant map appeared around them. It was about 3 seconds in total in the trailer. But it was a clue and a half, right there. I wasn't the only one who made that connection, either. Something else, and this is for future clues you might want to look for: Always check the wording of the dialogue. I use Closed Captions, because you can mistake something by the speaking of a word, and the spelling of the word. Dave is great at putting small clues in his shows, which can make you smack your head later once the reveal happens, because "How did I not see THAT coming?!" lol (Yes, I paused at the start of the video to make this comment, but I'll also touch on some things with the time indices, if I feel it's needed. However, I'll only give my own speculation and things I noticed, without referencing leaks/potential spoilers/etc.... just things I happened to notice, and where **I** think they might go. So take them with a grain of salt.... I'm wrong a lot.) OH! If you don't already, New Rockstars does a really good "Breakdown" video on these shows. They even point out stuff I missed. ;) 12:28 - The astromech in that E-Wing.... I don't know if you know this or not (I do, because I had the original 1978 toys), but it is actually modeled after the original R2-D2 action figure, with those "teardrop indented eyes". Feel free to look that up, it's true. 17:15 - Maybe it's just me, but I think the lightsaber Shin is using looks a LOT like Kanan's lightsaber. Plus, since she wasn't raised in the Jedi Temple (she's obviously too young), Huyang wouldn't recognize her lightsaber if indeed she made it, and I'd have to go back and watch S1E1 of The Bad Batch to look closely at Caleb Dume's lightsaber to see if it was the same one he had as Kanan. (between episodes) You know, I was wondering at first why Sabine isn't wearing her Mandalorian armour.... after the end of the second episode, I got to thinking more about it..... this is after the Night of a Thousand Tears.... so right now, we don't know if the rest of her family is even still alive. IIRC, they didn't live on Mandalore proper, but one of its moons. Did Moff Gideon take those moons out, as well? Will Sabine ever find out about how Mandalorians retook their planet? Shit got me thinking, yo! 23:55 - Heh.... think about this, too.... and I don't mean to sound posh, or arrogant.... but imagine watching these newer things, and having seen the OT hundreds of times (A New Hope, I know my watch number is over 1000, Empire and Jedi aren't far behind). The tiny details you can spot from having the earlier stuff so ingrained into your memory, that you aren't even looking for it, and you spot it. 24:50 - Oddly enough, I think they do consider if the actor looks similar to the animated character. Ryder looks very similar, and it's the same voice actor from the series. Also, did you notice that was the same actor who was the "drill sergeant" from Starship Troopers? 33:00 - Remember the "Least Mandalorian episode of Season 3"? (I forget the name of the episode off the top of my head), where it focused more on Dr. Pershing.... and the New Republic's "Amnesty Program"? That pretty much set up this scene here. Also, it is based on historical fact. After WWII, a lot of "former Nazi Party members" were left in civilian positions they were good at, simply to help keep the country going so the "regular people" wouldn't starve, and whatnot. As much as Patton hated the Nazis, he was a proponent of that policy (and it got him in trouble) because the people the Allies wanted to put into those jobs weren't qualified for them. Also, civilians really didn't have a choice in parties to belong to. They didn't run the death camps, those assholes went on trial for their crimes. (There's your lesson in real world history for the day) 35:00 - George Lucas once pointed out that every living thing can touch The Force, but one must be "Strong" with it in order to use it like a Jedi or Sith. Obi-Wan even mentioned that loosely in Episode IV. 39:45 - She could sell that shit on the New Republic version of eBay to a bunch of simps that would pay thousands of credits for that hair! LMAO! 40:30 - You didn't mention it, so I don't know if you caught it or not... but that's the "live action" version of the mural Sabine painted at the end of Rebels. They did a fantastic job reproducing that. I assume it's a real prop, and not just shown on the wall in the Volume. I loved them, too! It got "new" people up to speed with most of the characters (except for Chopper.... he didn't kill anyone yet ), and even us old timers got some new stuff from the past "decade" or so. There's conjecture of where exactly in the timeline this takes place, but obviously after the Mandalorian episode "The Jedi" from season 2. But there's allegedly (according to Dave Filoni) been 2 years between the end of season 2 and season 3 (Grogu was with Luke for 2 years, according to Dave). Still, I'm all in for this show, and can't wait until next Tuesday!

While I do have quite a few complaints about the show (mainly that it's not animated, despite being a direct sequel to Rebels), but one thing I really appreciate is that we're starting to see a lot more force users in Star Wars who aren't necessarily Jedi or Sith. I feel like so many Star Wars fans still think that the only type of force users are either Jedi or Sith, when in reality the two are just opposite ends of a huge spectrum. Maul, Ventress, Pong Krell, and the Nightsisters in Clone Wars, Ahsoka in Rebels, Bode in Jedi Survivor, and now Skoll and Hati in this show are all perfect examples of force users that have no allegiance to either specific side, but still have characteristics of some.

Those dark side characters with the orange lightsabers right now are being referred to as Dark Jedi because they're not Sith. Yes, you're right. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the woman cast as Hera is Ewan McGregor's wife who played Obi-Wan. Clancy Brown who voiced Ryder Azadi in Rebels also played the live action version of his character just like Katee Sackhoff who voiced Bo Katan also played her in the Mandalorian. How do you like them apples? We briefly saw Jai Kell when they were hoping Sabine would speak and Ryder asked to speak instead at the event who worked with Ezra and befriended in Season 1 as an under cover stormtrooper (he's now a senator). Not sure you if you remembered him. Huyang is the droid that helped the younglings build their lightsabers in the Clone Wars. I'm gonna call it , The large hyperdrive ring is for a large Captured Purrgil The hyper drive Is just needed to get that large ring into place planet the planet... But they need the Purrgill to go intergalactic... Why else would they need a ring that size .. So yeah I'm calling it right now First episode gets an 8.8 a reduction of .2 Because of that stab at the end of episode one... Episode two gets a 9.0 out of 10 love it so far can't wait for more

Most people watching this show probably wouldn't know anymore but anyone who was into the Expanded Universe back in the 90s, even if they're cooled a bit on Star Wars now, was excited to see those E-Wings in live action. They were some of the coolest shit and supposed to be the successor to X-Wings back in the old Legends stuff.

It’s interesting Dave Filoni’s reasoning for the orangish red sabers. It’s to show they’re not fully dark side or light side and leaves it up to the fan to decide if the person is good or not. Also he remembers watching Darth Vader and seeing his saber be red sometimes and sometimes look orange. I like how he goes back to his childhood when looking at what to do. Lucas did a good job hiring him to do Rebels and Clone Wars animated. 3:38 I’ve been so excited to see Thrawn in a live action show ever since I read the first book he was in which was in 1991 with Heir to the Empire. 4:19 they’re Dark Jedi. 8:51 love that Dr Who is they voice of the robot. David Tennant is awesome. 12:18 the droid in the E-Wing is from an old Kenner R2-D2 droid that didn’t really look like R2. 13:03 did you notice how they changed the music for the intro with the character heads. It wasn’t their usual music. 14:02 I was wondering when I saw her in Mandalorian if she was related to the night sisters cause she kinda looks like them. She has some features. 15:07 yeah cause there is about 4 years between the end of Rebels and the start of Ahsoka. 21:54 plus if you’ve seen any trailers there’s spoilers that show she doesn’t die in the first episode.

I feel like they could have done Bette with the character appearance but they still look clean . Great start , kinda sad thinking of how the ghost crew is divided , how they lost kanon and Ezra . Zeb doing his own thing . Ashoka went renegade . Sabine turned away from the ghost and hers a general . I also want to see a appearance from Rex . I know he fought in the battle of Endor . But since time has passed , maybe Rex passed away from old age

I enjoy seeing the enthusiasm that you have for SW and Dave balanced intro episodes for people that haven't seen Rebels and those that have. Enjoy this series because the next two series that are planned to be released by Disney will not be George/Dave SW but KK/Disney SW and we know the kind of crap shoot content they make.

I've never seen any of the animated Star Wars content, so this was my first introduction to most of the characters. I thought they did a very good job of giving just enough back story for me to understand who the characters are and their relationships with one another. The characters are fun and interesting and I love how they may be new to me, but they are already fully fleshed out characters, with lives and histories of their own. Even Morgan Elspeth and the former Jedi with her. As for Ezra's comment, maybe he was expecting that he wouldn't make it and was trying to give her as much closure as he could? It's easier to move on with your life after the death of a family member than after the death of a lover or beloved. Especially when the relationship between the survivor and the one that passed is as full of "what ifs" as you implied while talking about the characters. Then again, I never saw Ezra or any of their history, so I'm just guessing. Thanks for the reaction!

Then you definitely should watch Rebels at the very least. You're missing out on so much good stuff. So many iconic lore events, especially in season 2, 3 and 4 (and a fantastic ending). The first few episodes in the beginning take a bit of time to get into and get things rolling, I'm not gonna lie (first season is a bit weak, when compared with the later ones), but it really is a good Star Wars show in general, with absolutely awesome characters. Every Jedi moment is special and the ones including Ahsoka are best. It also includes lots of cameos of important SW characters and finishes many Clone Wars plot lines and has couple of big surprises. And you don't neccessarly need to know anything from Clone Wars.

My only issue so far is another person surviving a lightsaber stab. Yes she got immediate medical attention and it wasn’t over her heart but she also (as of now) isn’t a force user. The plot armour is strong.

Enough of the plot armour! If you get hit in a vital point, you’re dead besides, if you remember i’ll Obi-Wan’s master by the time he got to him he was already on his last leg, so there wasn’t enough time for medical attention. Let me tell you something not everything is perfect, but not everything is awful either, but there’s no reason to be doing the same time. Can you see something whether it’s a new weapon or not.

18:59- That's a question that will most likely be answered either midway or close to the end of the season, as they're establishing there was a fallout between Ahsoka and Sabine but we won't know the actual cause 'til much later. 20:45- That didn't work when she sparred with Kanan, who rightly pointed out that having any Mandalorian tools or armor only delays the inevitable as the Jedi had defeated the Mandalorians before. Especially since any Jedi can immobilize a Mandalorian and aim for areas the armor doesn't cover, one such example being Mace Windu decapitating Jango Fett by aiming for the neck. 28:29- Except it was in a bad way as Ahsoka had told Sabine to leave the map on the ship instead of asking for it back, leading her former apprentice to steal it which has fallen into enemy hands...so yeah, both of them are at fault but Sabine did the most damage.

I was shocked 😲 😯 to learn Morgan Elsbeth was a Night Sister. In the games Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor (I apologize for spoilers 😓), there's another survivor of the Night Sisters, named Merrin. At first an antagonist in the first game, she becomes an ally and friend to the main protagonist, a survivor of the Jedi Order, Cal Kestis, by the end of it, and his love interest in the second game 🎮 😍🥰😉😁👍. (Once again, I apologize if I've spoiled anything for you 😓😣😔🙏.)

I mean, let’s be real with the stab and that she beat up a robot 1. she was not stabbed in a vinyl area. 2. she is force sensitive so she could probably take more than most people, and heal quicker. 3. She was a seasoned rebel they thought clones in armor they thought many different enemies, I believe also droids 4.. She has been shot before if I’m not mistaken, when she tried to shoot Darth Vader. 5. she is a Mandalorian. They are meant to be rough and tough kind of people. I’m sure she’s been worse condition because the Mandalorians are a warrior race weather there a woman or not they take a lot of damage. 6. so much technology is far beyond our technology. Most people have been healed from worst. Injuries. 7. We don’t know if Asoka used force heal, to lessen the blow 8. Also, she did pass out. So she would’ve died if she was not saved. 9. and I believe that she does have enough flaws for us to have a character arc. So far she made a lot of mistakes. And is very flawed and not really a good person. So far.
