I don't mind gratuitous sex scenes for the most part, but some movies take it too far, one in particular is blood sucking freaks, I know it sounds like a vampire movie but nope, this is probably one of most difficult to watch movies I've ever seen, and although the nudity had something to do with the story, there was still a disturbing quality to it.

AHStoriess pacing per episode was off. Twilight Zone, Tales From The Crypt, & Are You Afraid of the Dark could tell a complete & coherent story in less that 30 minutes & AHStories couldn't do the same in nearly an hour.

I only liked Ba'al and Feral. I think the concept of Feral was really interesting with the national parks and Feral people. It would've been better if it was a full season though and fleshed out. The way their son disappeared reminded me of the real life disappearance of Dennis Martin. I hated the last episode the most, cause the meta aspects were illogical and by then it felt like they were ruining the legacy of Murder House. Which is my favourite AHS season so it really annoyed me.

Late to the party but I watched Feral after hearing her take and your comment. Agreed that it's an interesting and tried concept that could work in competent hands but the execution in script and dialogue ruined it imo. SPOILERS I figured they'd find their boy, not knowing he was taken in and just happy he survived, only for him to inevitably call all the others to their location instead of the bizarre king reveal (on a chair of bones that I guess no hiker managed to find and survive or take a photo of given how weird it was to see in a national park?). Like, it was obvious the kid would be alive but I thought the way they revealed it was subpar even though the writers thought it was clever when you can see it a mile away, which might be partially why it wasn't a full season. Even them taking him back, only for it to go wrong with him once home or after his behaviour spirals would've been much more AHS than what happened. The ending seems to have viewers divided on whether it was good or not but nobody seems to explain why they think that :/ The govt involvement bit unfolded like a reddit thread on /r/nosleep when it could've been genuinely creepy or intriguing like real cases of folk who've gone missing in the woods. I like occasional cheese in horror but it didn't quite work here because of the poor direction and script. The fact that the actors we've seen give solid performances were unable to do so in this series really shows the quality tbh

As someone who's been in the AHS fandom since 2013, the majority of us agree this show is utterly horrible. A few of us, myself included, think and have talked about the fact that Ryan has too many projects that he's working on. When he has too many projects at least one if not two of them are lacking. We've discussed that this show is not what we were promised when the idea was talked about by Ryan back in 2020 before it began filming. Ryan made it seem like we would have individual episodes going back to look at one character from different seasons of AHS in this show. So, when the show came out, with just the first episode the majority of the fandom was disappointed. I also think that Ryan just had his hand in too many projects while working on this, and that's when his writing skills are the worse. I.e. hotel, because he was working on Pose, and ACS, along with getting ready to create another show on top of that. We all agree that it seems like he's trying to keep AHS alive through this show with a younger audience, even though the original was never meant for teens in the first place. TL;DR even the AHS fandom hates this show. We all know Ryan didn't try and just put it out for the sake of trying to stay relevant.

If they wanted to play the meta storyline well in Game Over, they should've used different actors for the real ghosts of Murder House, kind of like what they did with Roanoke. Find a way to show us that Dylan McDermott and the others are just actors and give the ghosts a more gruesome appearance.

As a gay man, I do not know why Ryan Murphy, who is also a gay man, insists on writing all of his LGBTQ characters as tragic or unfortunate figures. The first episode of this series got me thinking about all of his LGBTQ characters and I can't really think of any that don't get completely shafted. Liz Taylor and Tristan seem to be the only exceptions. Being gay in America comes with added and unique challenges, and therefore more likely to end in suffering, but to consistently exploit that reality for your TV show just for cheap drama seems grotesque.

I didn’t know Ryan Murphy was gay. I thought he was trying to make the audience sympathetic towards LGBT people as a way of making up for his works in the early 2000s. Ryan Murphy had a show called nip/tuck, that I remember being obsessed with. But watching it now is hard because of the way the trans characters are written and the way the characters around them behave towards the trans characters. In one arc of nip/tuck, the story literally portrays one character being discovered to be trans as BEING WORSE THAN HER BEING A KNOWN P3do!!! The fact that she’s outed as trans being this big scandal where they invade her privacy and manipulate her doctors into sharing information with them. It’s so awful. Her being trans has nothing to do with her being a monster, but they treat it like it does. When the parents find out she’s been sleeping with their teenage son, they get upset and kind of throw their arms in the air about it. But when they discover she’s trans, they go into attack mode and decide “she has got to go!@ The gay/trans characters in nip/tuck are often sold as villains or “others”. One character “falls down a slippery slope” with his mental health and his rock bottom is shown as him seeking out a sexual experience with a trans woman, who he then assaults. Ryan definitely has a track record of abusing his LGBT characters and idk what else to say about it. I think he’s trying to get better about it but he still just doesn’t know how to write these characters for shit.

I sort of want to check it out now but I also don't want to be mad about it for the next week or so. I sorta re-thought my Liz and Tristan comparison after awhile too, like yeah they got to be together in the end but only after they BOTH FCKING DIED AND ARE STUCK IN THE CORTEZ FOR ALL ETERNITY AS GHOSTS. I also hope he eventually figures it out.

With this being marketed as a "self-contained anthological series" was there truly a reason to devote nearly half this season to one location and idea??? ENOUGH WITH MURDER HOUSE!! I hate how this series made me never watch the rewatch seasons one or eight again strictly due to location. Billie Loud was decent but I enjoyed BA'AL, Feral was very fun and gave me early 2000s vibes, and Drive In (with the exception of THAT scene) was a simple yet easy and enjoyable watch. Let's not even discuss The Naughty List... it felt like a castration on my eyes. Overall I was very disappointed with only 4/7 episodes feeling original and fresh, not even all being good, but with the bang that AHS 10 started out with I will disregard this awful spin off. Thanks for this video Sarah! Always love and appreciate your insight and opinions. EDIT: I usually hate to pick apart actors/actresses but Kaia Gerber as Ruby might be one of the worst characters and performances I'd ever seen in this series or any of the AHS seasons. Sorry but I rolled my eyes every single time I saw her onscreen... just not a good addition.

Yes! I think it’s because it’s so so often linked to violence which just makes it extremely uncomfortable. It’s like it tries to keep it “sexy” even when the sex is extremely violent and some times straight up r*pe like a perfect example I feel like is the mattress “bdsm” creature from hotel

I've only seen the first two episodes of AHS Stories and I disliked the second episode, the character of Ruby annoyed me and there was no reason to kill Scarlets father's. The acting looks horrible to me and the only ones I'm interested in seeing are the episodes Feral and Ba'al.

All the episodes with the exception of the Murder House episodes (which felt like bad fan-fiction) are decent especially Ba’al and Feral which were well acted and actually were horror centric. Honestly I highly recommend watching Marianne on Netflix. Its a French Horror TV Mini Sereis... Only 8 Episodes long, it's one of the best horror series ever made!

I thought Billie Lorde’s acting in Ba’al was really weird. Like she is amazing in other projects, but I couldn’t stand her in that episode. Maybe it was the character she was playing? But I couldn’t get into the episode because of the acting. My favourite would have to be feral or drive-in. Drive-in was creepy for me with the music and the tension, the sexual element was not needed and kinda put me off but overall really enjoyed it. Feral I thought was spot on. I loved how even though they found their little boy, they still didn’t get a happy ending. I don’t know, something about horror movies/shows not having a happy ending or a “final girl” is so haunting for me and I love it.

AHStories was AWFUL, but PLEASE keep watching the current season of AHS. It has the potential to be one of the best seasons of the series. At least from the first three eps it's not the scariest, but it feels so well done and one of the best quality wise.

Ryan Murphy needs to go on a long sabbatical because clearly, he is creatively snuffed and has been for years. He seems to think all he needs is a little raunch and a high kill count to wrap things up and call it a day. Also, I’ll never forgive him for ruining a Nurse Ratched origin story, which could’ve been a brilliant movie…though not a series and not as a goddamn serial killer. No emotional arc there, by god.

I definitely agree that Ba'al and Feral were the best episodes. Honestly they could've done a whole season with Feral, it felt too short and that ending was a let down. Honestly the majority of the episodes were very predictable and that's made it really annoying with me. Danny Trejo being a serial killer Santa Claus was definitely the highlight of that episode. I'm so over influencer concepts for shows and movies, they don't know how to handle the concept without making it terribly cringey. I agree that this shouldn't have even been made. I think though it's made me enjoy season 10 so much more though. Sometimes I wonder if it's actually good so far or am I just comparing it to the trash that Stories was lol

I'm surprised at the reaction kaia has been getting, I'm not a fan of hers or anything but she was fine if not good for most of her scenes. There was a handful of times of bad reading but she was serviceable. There has been worst performances in ahs before. My main gripe with the show was how rushed it all was. The only eps I liked was the movie screening and the forest and those were hella rushed. The demon baby one was almost fine except billies acting was really bad I think she couldn't find the character and I just felt bad and embarrassed for her the whole time .

You're telling as if there were many writers, but in fact every non-Murder House episode was written by the same person, Manny Cotto. The only exception is BA'AL which Cotto cowrote with the Supergirl showrunner. I don't understand why Ryan put all eggs in one basket and didn't hire more writers. Besides, Cotto's track record isn't even that good. He only wrote one episode of Apocalypse and was in charge of Dexter's final season.

Cool. Nice video. Haven't seen a single episode so far, figured I'd wait untill the season was over. So many mixed reactions though. Nice to have an episode-by-episode walkthrough. And yeah - I'm honestly done with Murder House as well. I still like the odd season of AHS but it's been hit & miss for me (the last really good one being Hotel, with Roanoake being pretty decent too).

So I was with you when you said you didn’t want to watch season 2 and didn’t care to. Tonight my husband and I binged every second season episode so far. This season is 1000000% better than the first. It’s even better than most AHS seasons lately. I think you should reconsider.

I have not watched AHS in YEARS (probably since I was in high school, and I graduated in 2015) and I feel like that was probably their peak era. Everything after that sort of "hype period", I have not heard many good reviews for lol Looking forward to your next video! :)

The drive in episode was heavily influenced by 1980s Dario movie called Demons! It takes place in a movie theater and a patron get scratched by a promotional demon mask turns, kill, turn others repeat 😆

The concept of the show is a good idea. Having a different story for each episode. I agree that the endings were so bad and I think it’s because they try to wrap up a whole story in less than an hour. Most of the episodes range from 35 mins-50 mins. I think if they extended the times to like an 1 hour 15 mins they could wrap it nicely and not be rushed. That said my rankings are: BA’AL> Feral> Naughty List> Drive In> Rubber Woman> Rubber Woman 2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Game Over. Game over is my least favorite episode of the AHS series as a whole including stories and story. Like WTF. The characters and the story was just a big disappointment and so confusing as to how and why this episode was made. So disappointed that this was the season finale and the last episode we get for a year.

I loved the first 2 episodes and the last 2. Everything in the middle was weird to me but I still watched every single episode and will continue to watch every thing from this series/ franchise 😩

recently the full seasons of AHS can barely wrap up everything they threw in so I really was not surprised when the ending of each episode for Stories sucked. I totally agree with you that drive in, feral, and Baal were the best, drive in was a good concept, feral had the best re-watch-ability to it, and the twist in Baal was definitely unexpected and well executed

I thought the santa episode was BY FAR the worst. The acting, the weird story line, everything. But I do agree with your point that all of the endings were lackluster. I felt like most of them were so rushed and…. Incomplete?

I feel like you might hate the (kinda) sex scene in episode 3 of Double Feature. The sex gets to another level. Very violent and non consensual. I’m shocked that they can show this on FX. There wasn’t nudity or anything but the stuff they talk about is pretty gruesome. They don’t actually show the rape just so you know.

every episode that referenced MH i think i actually rolled me eyes at. i really enjoyed feral, baal & drive in, it sucks that the season was kind of ruined bc of MH. seeing it in ahs: apocalypse was enough. i also felt that concepts like drive in could be used for a full ahs season, a much more exciting concept than cult or apocalypse
