Appreciate your willingness to share your experience. My prayer is that all of us who have been diagnosed with this condition realize that we have been given a second chance to make a difference in this world. Stay close to what really matters in life each and every day. God bless and stay strong.

Hey John Thanks for sharing your story. I know its tough to relive what happened. 😢 I dissected in October 2023. Similar to yours mine went from my heart to the iliac with most of organs running off the good side, but the dissection runs into my left kidney and into my cephalic. And it was only through a series of unlikely events that I survived at all. Wear your scar like a badge of honour. You survived!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm around your age, and I'm now 5 weeks out from a Type A dissection, emergency open heart surgery, ascending aorta repair with a graft and aortic valve replacement. It all happened very suddenly one day for me with no warning at all. I also have a residual dissection that extends around the arch into my descending aorta, but not as extensive as yours. It's early for me, I'm still completely freaked out and struggling every day, but getting stronger and getting by with a lot of support from family and friends. I'm just really grateful to hear your story and get the feeling of not walking this path alone, as you said. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there like this and share your story, and I'm really grateful you did.
