We all know that ai is going to disrupt a lot of creative fields, let's not accelerate it by shilling it and offering people discount codes. Send them the way of real modellers instead

Good Grief, UJ. This is just ANOTHER fake A.I. service using sweatjobs! Most likely, this is Kaedim again but using a different name, because they got caught. Only now they're charging $25-40 instead of the $6. But I guarantee they are picking the money instead of properly paying the 3D artists their worth. Jessy, the red flags are all over the site. Here are just a few: 1) No free trail option. Even if it was just 1-5 tries, a REAL 2D to 3D compa y would let you see the model, BEFORE paying for it. 2) The fact they are forcing payment BEFORE their so-called "a.i. generated software" does it's work, is because a real person is speed modeling it. The imperfections are due to their having to speed through it, which masks the idead that it's all a.i. generated. 3) In your skull example, there are details added to the 3D model that a a.i. program would not make. Like how far to shape certain parts of the structure. The addition of unseen elements in the original image is another giveaway. 4) Run a test from the same account, using similar images. Be sure to order both renders close enough to one another that they down overlap, but the same artist will see them and be tasked to create them both. In this case that would be the skull. I bet the 3D mesh of both skulls will be identical or impossibly close. 5) The fact the so-called a.i. program takes 25 minutes or more, is easily the biggest giveaway that that a real person is being forced to model it. A a.i. program would take MAYBE 10 minutes max, for a model like the melting skull. Why? Because it's modeling based on both a image and a prompt. A.I. image to image tech has gotten very fast and only takes a few seconds to generate high detailed and high quality images. There are ZERO REASONS for it to take more than 5 minutes for a simple model like the skull to take 25 minutes to generate. 6) The fact this company is not tied to any image to image, nor text to image, a.i. generators, is more evidence they are lying and using digital sweatshop artists. 7) Solid evidence this is a scam: The domain was first registered in late July 2023. A tech site like this would have had it's domain registered LONG BEFORE the site went live. NOT THE SAME MONTH! Most of the owner info is redacted, but it's info claims to be stationed in Arazona, USA. HOWEVER; it also states to be owned by 1api.net. That domain was bought in 2017 and it's origins is fully redacted, EXCEPT for it's abuse report phone number. And that number is BASED IN GERMANY and includes a extention number!! ( 49+68949396x850) For those that don't know, Kaedim is a website that made this exact same claim. Only they were charging a $6 trial and a $120-ish monthly fee. Fellow a.i. users, and 3D modelers figured out the scam. They did some digging and got proof Kaedim was lying and abusing their employees by paying them literally pennies on the dollar for each 3D render. Forcing them to provide somewhat quality 3D models at a rat race pace.l, to meet the demands of a real a.i. service.

I'm gonna agree with other comments and say this is too similar to Kaedim3D where they have people behind the scenes making the models. Things like it not doing people, realistic animals, or foliage is definitely because the modelers don't have the time/are not experienced enough to make them. On top of that, even though the models aren't perfect, they're also too good for what we know 3D AI can do at the moment. Not even Google's Dreamfusion can make individual shapes for models (it's not publicly available yet but the point still stands. I'd try CSM AI. It's genuine Image to 3D AI and has a free tier. I'm confident in it being real because it takes longer to process and sometimes the results can be outright bad, which leads to credibility lol. I would say the models are pretty impressive for what it is though. I've printed a few myself and they're pretty cool just for the novelty of holding an AI-generated 3D model.

Something to be aware. I paid for this service, in the credit card statement the company name was NIKKO INDUSTRIES. A quick google search shows that he is running another business which sells 3d assets. Could it be that the assets he makes for you, he is selling to other people? It says on his site that "it is 100% yours", but on the terms of service it suggests that you are granted a license to use their service for non-commercial purposes. So is it a license, or do we own what you make? This guy is not to be trusted.

@trebory6

If you're a vendor, you sell a printed model for about $15 each, you only need 2 to make a profit from the lower tier, and 3 to break even from the higher tier. If you're planning on opening a booth or something at a fair, those kinds of numbers are easy. It's 100% worth it, you just have to be intentional with your submissions since you can't just willy nilly upload and convert images without a plan.

I have to kinda disagree. In several of the 3D groups I am in even the "beginner" designers are like $ 30h r for design work. Something like that dripping skull would take me about 6 hours in Nomad. The spooky tree example shown about an hour. I don't even want to guess on the Cthulhu model.

@@RoseKindred Hi, Thanks for your comment and adding to our community. :) days. I don't wanna start a discussion and I'm more than happy with your comment, even though I still think the pricing is not right; among many things, I have to write code on a regular bases and AI has saved me many hours. I know how to code, so, the legs up is really great. If I had to pay $40 for every snipped of code, I'd not use it. My 3d designs are mostly functional and I rarely use Z-Brush, but, still, that's the point I'm coming from. (Don't know if a "professional" would be happy to pay $40+ for an starting point and pass the cost down).

@@ronalddhs3726 Oh I get it. If they know how to use the tools already, then this program doesn't sound like it would be for them. The way I see this, it would be great for those people who want a model to print but cannot find a designer, mainly because they want something new and highly detailed for like ten bucks. I've had too close contacting because of the requests. They don't appreciate the work that goes into learning the software as well as the time spent in the actual design. Even though I am not a professional, I can see this for myself if I want to create a detailed base mesh to build upon. Such as the helmet example. I have no experience making them, so to get a "helmet with 3 horns in a mohawk" I think it would be more than worth it to use this. Create a generalized helmet and then I can add my horns. If I wanted to add wires, like a cyberpunk helmet, I can reload the generalized base mesh and add them myself. Like getting an asset pack for Unreal and using it as a base.

I mean, when it tried to generate the spartan helm for UJ, I wonder if it based the parameters on the 50+ N.I. helmets. I think, but the skull had photo only from one side, and the invisible part was still done correctly. 2. Since when does AI divide into subtools? I would expect more of a uniform blob, like with 3D scanning. 3. With this kind of accuracy, 20 min would be enough to do such rough blockouts.

I would expect ai model to be more "generative/dream" like photogrammetry or even nvidia's ai model generative tool. Especially the helmet felt like there is a timer on an artist, he had to stop half way because the level of detail on the model is not consistent all around. As most if not all ai generative process from noise to slowly morphing into shape.

Hey Jessy, I don't know if you or others care, but it's a little disappointing seeing you use AI image generators so casually. It's openly know that it used unethical means to aquire its initial data sets, and the communites of SD and Midj actively encourage their users to steal from artists. The technology is insanely powerful, and has a lot of potential to change the way we do things, but I don't think it's right to use it in its current state. As it is, it's a miracle machine created from theft and data laundering. It's gettinf away with things we know are wrong because laws barely keep up eith emerging technologies. Artists already struggle as it is, and are constantly put down. The AI community in particular seems hell bent on destroying the livelihoods of artists, and I expect there will be many who will comment to this post with "progress" and "inevitable" Technology is suppose to solve problems, since when was art a problem that needed solving? Why does it have to be created at a break neck pace? A technology that needs to steal from millions in order to work isn't progress, that's exploitation.

The real power of AI in 3D printing will be learning your printer and correcting the models for your printer. Print model. Let the AI examine the results and determine exactly what things didn't work. Warp the model to correct for your printer's capabilities. Repeat and refine. 5 or 10 or 20 complex test prints to stress all variables, and after that your printer should print near flawlessly, with every model adjusted for your printer in just the right ways so the result is perfect.

1:35 you have full rights and access to? Pretty sure that's not true. Recently a federal judge ruled that AI generated content is not open to protection... @RoseKindred
@RoseKindred Жыл бұрын
Not quite. While the judge ruled that JUST A.I. created work is not copyrightable, and that it needs a human interaction, the court did not define what that human action is. In short, they left loopholes for new cases to challenge and apply for copyright. This is going to be interesting in the following years with new laws being created. So, theoretically, you can use 4 or 7 A.I.-generated items, edit them in PS to make a scene, and blend them together, and then you have a new piece of art. This has the potential to turn the previous unprotected works into protective work under the Transformative clauses. Similar to how mosaic artists claim copyright using public domain images and those found on google that they put together to create a new piece of art. As an artist, this both scares and intrigues me. While I don't like the "public" A.I. generators (the ones that skim image banks without approval) I do know of others who build their own. It doesn't seem worse than the person who prints IG screenshots on canvas and sells them for 90-100K. And that art is protected. The judge: "Undoubtedly, we are approaching new frontiers in copyright as artists put AI in their toolbox to be used in the generation of new visual and other artistic works. The increased attenuation of human creativity from the actual generation of the final work will prompt challenging questions regarding how much human input is necessary to qualify the user of an AI system as an “author” of a generated work, the scope of the protection obtained over the resultant image, how to assess the originality of AI-generated works where the systems may have been trained on unknown pre-existing works, how copyright might best be used to incentivize creative works involving AI, and more."
