this certainly does level the playing field, democratizing the industry. But it also makes me wonder the traditional pipeline for designers, is it truly necessary to spend a ton of money to go to fashion school when you have these tools at your disposal?

my biggest concern is that people in positions of creative authority are trying to use AI to cut out the human element of design specifically so they don't have to pay anybody. why employ somebody with "rights" when you can just ask the AI for the most people-pleasing homogenous data-slurry you can get from it? blegh

I am a student from Milan (Graphic Design) and we get a basic education in AI, they started the course 1 Year ago, so its just a matter of time to appear in fashion or other design departments as well.

Please take some time to examine the work of Malik Afegbua, a Nigerian visual artist who used AI technology to create a fashion show featuring elderly people earlier this year (a move interpreted by some as a statement against ageism) . It would also help if you used this platform to bring more international attention to the growing fashion industry across the African continent as well, particularly in countries like Ghana and Nigeria where streetwear brands have taken centre stage.

If Heuritech is identifying trends through what's already out in the market, then how would they truly forecast what will be trending the following season? This may be great for fast-fashion retailers and brands, but not for brands who want to be ahead of the curve and be trend-setters.

As for the argument that it takes the creativity out , I think from the perspective of a programmer it just takes the creativity and shifts it onto both sets of people. I think this gives fashion designers a new set of tools that they can then use in conjunction with their own creativity and that of the designers of the AI tools.

It doesn't look fashion, it looks catalogue. "You would never really know" Sure about that? AI generated "art" generally has a deadeyed sheen that belies it's digital origin. It's as if they are trained to regenerate all those designs that never made it past toile
