I bought one around Christmas time and I like it a lot. The color is great, easy to operate and makes my tank look nice and bright. I started with the smallest one on small tank to check it out and then saved up for the bigger one.

Price on point with quality. If I would have bought the Kessil lights for my planted tank originally instead of buying less expensive options I would have been money ahead. “We’re too poor to buy cheap things” best thing my Dad ever told me.

Hi Jason. Good review. I was on the fence with the Blade. It was a toss-up between the Blade or Chihiros RGB Pro. I went with the Chihiros for my high tech planted tank.
@jay-remedy-plz11 ай бұрын
I was the same and I bought the Blade because I was my local store carries them and I didn’t have to worry about shipping risks. I’m not certain it was a good call. The LED’s are too far apart on the Blade. My Fluval blends the colors seamlessly but presents as more yellow or green.

Once you use a high end light it’s really hard to return to cheaper lights. The richness of color in the fish and plants is incredible and not attained with lesser light spectrum lights.

Learning a lot from your channel. Thank you. Upon watching this... my question has nothing to do with lights (my apologies) but where can I find those giant pieces of tree branches or whatever kind of driftwood it may be? That is sooo beautiful and I want to achieve that look in my aquariums. I have three 125-gallon tanks and a 75. I absolutely love the natural aquarium but have no idea where to get that branched out wood. thank you :)

I’ve got the smallest version on a little tank. Overall it’s great, BUT due to low clearance in my shelf it’s on top of the lid. So individual LED’s don’t have enough spread. I watch the fish turn from blue to red as they swim and also the red clusters of light on the plants. In contrast my Fluval does a much better job of creating one uniform color.

@@PrimeTimeAquaticsI’m sure if I was able to raise it higher it wouldn’t be noticeable. I’m also running it at extremely low intensity 15 percent. Super powerful for its footprint. I’m considering my options for 4foot tank and it’s still a contender. 👍🏻

I was looking into a few for my three big tanks, they are very nice lights and would make the tank look a lot better, but I cannot afford to pay close to $1,000 to light up three tanks. I’m gonna say that 90% of people in the hobby can’t justify paying that much for a light.

$200 bucks for like, 15 watts of light? Geez, I can buy four or five Hygger lights for a total of 80 watts of light for that money. To each his own.
@PrimeTimeAquatics11 ай бұрын
Ya, this is for someone who wants the features and the color spectrum that aren't available on lights at that price point.
@alastair-r367611 ай бұрын
Be carefully of the Hygger adjustable the one that’s has 5 strips of LEDs. I discovered that only the middle stripe was adjustable the other other strips would just change intensity of all the RGBW LEDs. Also bizarrely when changing the middle strip white intensity it would adjust the other 4 strips.
@jay-remedy-plz11 ай бұрын
Definitely risk vs rewards in this hobby. Michael’s Fishroom did a harsh review on Hyger but he admits it’s only his experience. They asked him to pull down his review and he declined.

Their pendant light is actually less expensive than Kessil with more features!
@gunnerneikoify3 ай бұрын
@@PrimeTimeAquatics Untrue, the comparable (apples to apples) Kessil A160WE and the AI prime 16HD pendant are almost identical in price and features. Yeah, the Kessil A360XE Tuna Sun is more expensive than the AI prime 16HD, but it's also 90 watts vs the AI Prime 16HDs 55 watts = apples to oranges. The next and only step up to the AI Prime 16HD is AIs Hydra 32 LED Freshwater pendant which is the apples-to-apples equivalent to the Kessil A360XE at basically the same price and wattages. All in all, AI and Kessil are fairly equivalently priced for each of the "comparable" (apples to apples) models of freshwater pendant lights. I've got several of both brands and both sizes of each brands pendants, and it's a toss-up for me which I like best. There is no doubt though, if one likes the shimmer effect that a pendant light is known for, Kessil, no matter which model it is, has both models of the AI pendants beat hands down.
@stevecox806611 ай бұрын
If aquaillunination wants to send me one if these lights (or seven lol) I'd use them. Otherwise there is absolutely no way I would ever justify their prices for hobbyists. For the price of the light, I could buy a 125 gallon tank. This really seems like those folks who put edible gold flakes on their ice cream.
@somedude245511 ай бұрын
I don’t think the AI blade is worth it. I would rather buy three AI Prime 16 Freshwater lights for the 125g as those lights would produce a shimmer effect. I would have to see an AI Blade lighting an aquarium in person, but I prefer to buy Chihiros lights. I like the RGB LED’s of Chihiros that combine into white more than the red, blue and cool white LED’s of the AI Blade.

@@PrimeTimeAquatics yes I get that but many fish keepers aren't in the Blade lights league as it's so expensive.
