Today I'm going to try to get artificial intelligence (CHATGPT) to come up with an idea for a challenge, and it gave me one to build a rocket and escape from a gas giant!

Hey Friends. Looks like @MattLowne and I had the same idea at the same time. I recorded this video on Tuesday. Matt released his video wednesday after I had finished recording mine. I honestly had no idea that he came up with the same concept for a video until the comments here told me so. I'm not "intentionally stealing content from smaller creators" like some of you are accusing me of in the comments section. Additionally, I have great respect for Matt and his channel. Thank you for this response and still shoutin them out, tho, folk rly dont get how youtube video creation works if they think you can have a one day turnaround on a video idea... Esp moreso for creators who are usin others for editing or have patrons/sponsirs they need to make sure they satisfy the requests of and thus need a backlog of a little bit of a buffer of at least a day or two just in case Makin a vid and throwin it out within the same day is rly only possible for gamin vids with very little editin involved and even then is just not a healthy way of creatin content as it makes it so hard to comfortably take breaks

Its extremly interesting how you can get to the planet "surface" of Jool. Because this game is not yet launched and still in early acess, it has some bugs and unfinished features such as heat. Normally (in KSP) when you enter Jool you get roasted to a crisp. But in a world without thermal issues it is in fact possible to easily land on a gas giant. Would love it if you made another video, but with sucessful landing :)

You need to do a sharper gravity turn. Aim to have the apoapsis between 70 and 90 kilometers. And also ALWAYS QUICKSAVE. Just got into stable orbit? Quicksave. Just finished a burn? Quicksave. About to do a small eva space walk? Quicksave. You never know when you'll regret not quicksaving.

While watching this I was doing a minus mission in ksp 1, I ran out of fuel once my orbit hit kerbins atmosphere on my way back so I just thought I would do a few aero captures to slow down enough but I ended up having to do 34 AERO CAPTURES before I slowed down enough to land on the surface. It took over an hour to do all of those aero captures with maximum time warp.

You probably could have saved about 300∆V on that "crash" maneuver node, by waiting until you got back to AP, then adjusted the PA to crash, versus cutting the node half way up your climb. Or even just on the "fall". Which would have kept you from cheating. Also, I don't fly without headlights.

I'm surprised a surface was even added, whilst jupiter does have a solid inside, the pressure and winds and stuff would destroy everything before it even got anywhere near it. Also wasn't even in the first game.

Unfortunately, the pressure is so immense that no engines work, meaning you will have to rely on propellors if they are added and at that point the planet might not have a surface.

Currently there is no heating in the game, otherwise you'd burn in Jools atmosphere. Theoretically there should be no surface but I assume they put it there temporarily so you don't fall through the planet.
