here's some small KSP tips mr Blitz: - Aerodynamics are a big thing, so you usually want to cap off parts that are flat (like the boosters) - SAS is automated, once you turn it on and point the craft in the way you want it to go, the SAS will try it's best to keep the craft pointed in that direction (it turns itself off when you start giving inputs yourself. Also, there is an SAS module you can place onto your craft that improves the base SAS, but all cockpits come with a basic version) - going full throttle with high-powered engines in atmosphere is bad, you'll end up burning a lot more fuel for only a little speed than compared to something like half throttle - Duct tape is your friend on ships that wobble a lot. - You can adjust the eject force on decouplers (or some of them) these are just what I remember on a whim. Love it Blitz, a few things to look into: Main menu > settings > advanced tweakables Holding shift and then rotating the part does 5 deg increments in the builder hanger Rockets are easier in almost all aspects of Kerbal If you're set on a plane, check out the SAS control modules as they will help maneuver and stay steady with and without air (Add a few batteries) You can make larger wing surfaces by adding wings together In the builder look into center of mass and center of lift Go to Minmus first Orbit is 70,000 K - any lower on any aspect of your orbit will run into air resistance and deorbit eventually Good job on the staging, usually takes people a hot 6 hours to figure it out

The most painful aspect was that he never had a plan what to achieve actually. He started with a plane that barely took off. That can mean one of three things: too heavy, or too slow (not being too heavy helps here, too), or not enough wing area. So he went down the "gotta go fasta" route, a.k.a. more thrust. The pair of thrusters wasn't too bad of an idea, but the landing gear was too weak for that, and he never upgraded to XL. Instead, he went from a well balanced pair to a single, bottom-heavy SRB, where the gear was attached to the booster rather than the plane itself. _OOF_ the first. Then the control issues. The asymmetric SRB was barely controllable in dense air, and he never realized that it made him spin in high atmosphere. More thrusters aren't helping if you can't control them, and with only rudders, jets (lack of air) and SRBs (can't be throttled or cut short), he couldn't. _OOF_ the second.

in case you didnt figure it out, here's some more tips you can use q and e to roll your vessel, so it doesnt flip over and die z will max out your throttle, while x cuts it. if you want to make a plane, always have the center of lift very slightly behind the center of mass in the construction buildings, there will be 4 buttons in the top left corner. place is the button you use to place things, obviously, while offset will offset things a slight amount, and rotate rotates things, which is good for putting landing gear in better places. i hope you continue to play this game, as it can be extremely fun to mess around, and actually do what you're supposed to do and go to other planets.

Hey blitz! Just wana point out that one of your main problems were apptempting to leave atmosphere. The only thing proving control to your plane were the winglets. As you got higher the air got thinner and so your plane had less and less control till it finally broke. Hope to see more of this wonderful game in the future!

here are some amount of things he needs to learn (for a okay plane) 1. turn on center of mass and center of lift 2.put the center of mass a bit behind the center of mass 3. put the back landing gear on the wings 4. jet engines ONLY use liquid fuel 5. rocket engines use oxidizer AND liquid fuel 6. put the goliaths on the wings (other engines are optional) lastly 7. if you like what you are doing, keep doing it

you shod release the SRB's/boosters before it runs out of fuel to avoid the boosters from colliding with the rocket body. you shod also tilt the rocket a little and stop the engines then turn them on Again. slowdown to lower orbit if not in orbit and stil in a parabolic orbit speed up to go higher but sideways. you go sideways because the earth is round and it's easier. also if the rocket is to heavy you need more fuel but to cary that fuel you need more SR boosters but it gets heavy so you need more fuel but to cary that fuel you need more SR boosters but it gets heavy so you need more fuel but to cary that fuel you need more SR boosters but it gets... so don't make your rocket to heavy.

1 MORE 2 ive been playin ksp and I'm moderately good (I cant do interplanetary tho) tips 1 always put center of mas lift and thrust on, if ur thrust isnt alinged ith the center of mass it will turn, the closer u get the center of lift and mass together the more stabel it is, 3 jet engines don't work in vacumes, also nuclear engines are incrreadable efficient in vacumes but don't have much thrust, solid fuel boosters cant be controlled so that cant be turned off or throttled, antenas relay info from the ksc to probes so if u don't put satalites over a planet unmaned probes can be used on it, tl:dr align center of mas thrust and lift (edit was just speling errors)

The flaps being opposite were cancelling each other out, which is why you were struggling to take off in the earlier versions. One set was creating lift while the other set was creating drag, which meant you couldn't create enough lift to get up.

A few recommended mods to make the game better. Tweakscale - change the size of any part. Kerbal Engineer - gives useful information. Kerbal Alarm Clock - it's all too easy to miss maneuver nodes without this mod. Kerbal Joint Reinforcement - stops rockets wobbling like wet spaghetti. Spectra, Scatterer, Distant Object Enhancement and Planetshine - makes the game look beautiful. Realplume - makes rocket plumes act realistically.

It is always fun when you watch a new person to KSP and they use the KSP mentality of “more thrust will make this work” and it really does work. I would make one suggestion though, i am pretty sure that he is using air breathing engines and trying to make it to space, i would use the the wolfhound or something.
