As a chef I need to clarify a lot. Confit needs to have ungodly amounts of oil like a full bottle. You cook that low and slow. The mystery fruit is called a horned melon. You can’t get salmonella (or any sickness) from undercooked or raw eggs. The shell has salmonella on it and has a rough texture that holds the germs very well. The inside of the egg is completely sterile as it has to be in order to form a chick. Potatoes Al Gratin is a potato dish where you stack thin potatoes and create a cheesy creamy sauce over them

What you're saying is right, US eggs actually can contain salmonella because of their rigorous cleaning and bleaching process removing a layer of the shell. -A person who actually has gotten salmonella from raw eggs (it is very rare though I still eat raw egg)
