@@celestevictoire01 sadly they are a big company just like coke and mac Donald's and companies like these only worry about profit. It's probably not lidl themselves that put the ai image on the calendar but they chose to sell the product for the company that produced it.

I love vintage style illustrations, and unfortunately, I’d probably pick that advent calendar up not realising it was AI (until I looked at it closely). 😭😭 I love how your illustration turned out, it looks so fun! ✨✨

okay i got worried when you said you were gonna redraw it bc i think the ethics of redrawing ai are debatable but the way you immediately, as you say, made it more dynamic and gave it more life feels right. too many ai redraws are JUST one to one copies.

4:51 okay so while you have a point, and it does direct negative attention, i don’t think artists actively taking inspiration from and redrawing the ai sends the message we want to. as well as younger or more ignorant artists sometimes see these challenges and will generate new images to find art they want to redraw. generally what i’ve seen is the more ai is shared, the more it is created. artists get incredibly upset and the average person doesn’t, and few are willing to listen. artists directly copying the art looks like we’re just taking inspiration back like it supposedly does from js. another point someone else made was that people are probably just using redraws to fix mistakes in their datasets.

@cryingwatercolours thank you! Yeah I'm normally not a fan of ai redraws. But if we do it, it's best if we try and think about how we can improve the composition, poses and colors. This is probably also the only time you'll see me do that. In just more interested in creating my own stuff from scratch 🙌
