This interview feels so much more comfortable then interviews with media like PBS. He seemed so much more relaxed than his stilted delivery of answers with left media.

Wonderful conversation! I loved what Weiwei said, in the darkness, Snowden is a shooting star. I agree.

fantastic exchange! Thank you very much - it actually throws light into all the dark corners of "modern" humanity. Especially the "colonial" style apathy of the majority of individuals as a raison d'etre!!! to name just one aspect...

1:02:08 I'm not the one being asked, but I believe that people like you, Edward, have already started that change. Like Weiwei, like Navalniy in Russia, like Saveliev who published the gruesome torture of prisoners in Russia( heavily risking to be tortured and killed himself). Like Assange . More and more people see your example and are about to step up inspired by people like you

Wow, what an amazing discussion. The segment on authoritarianism is extremely important. There are a lot of ordinary people who agree with the idea of a sort of totalitarian global surveillance state- that's the sad part. Snowden keeps saying that a lot of people care, but I'm a bit skeptical about that, because if they really did care, they would be moved to action. That's what distinguishes Snowden from most people. He really cares. Caring is heroic. Most people would really care too if they realised what is at stake. And Weiwei provides crucial insight on the matter. People are so deeply indoctrinated that they become blind. Consider that the surveillance tactics, notably those of online surveillance, employed both in Communist China and in Capitalist America, are alarmingly similar. The censorship tactics of this false binary are also similar, although, as stated, the arguments they make to justify this censorship are different to suit the governing ideology of each.

More people will speak up as technology to securely whistleblow on government and corporate crimes becomes more affordable and effective 😊😊😊

Both of these guys are heroes in my estimation. But they didn't understand the same authoritarian tactics they are so familiar with are behind and part of the climate crisis movement. It's authoritarian.

THIS is everything you should know about civil society in the world. Edward is totally right saying "everyone got too comfortable". People are going to get stressed quite hard sooner or later for their laziness

People can't avoid these courage and independence tests. They conform and ignore, but everyone will face it. It's unavoidable.
AI Wewei is exactly right. How many thoughts are our own versus thoughts that we just reproduce out of fear?

Now that Ai Weiwei is becoming irrelevant in world stage as he always was in China, he is trying to make a new image out of himself.
