@@dingdong475 Why is it so hard to believe. My father was a project engineer for Rockwell in Palmdale. Before that he worked on the F5/T38 for Northrop. You see one of those flying and there's a high probability he put the ass end on it. He was a manager on the L1011 for Lockheed and as a teen I got to participate in an FAA certification for carrying more passengers. For Boeing he was a tooling engineer and designed a clip to hold the ceiling panels in on the early 747s. I worked the better part of 17 years on USAF Plant 42 and watched at least 50 B1Bs take their maiden flight. You sound like a jealous bitch.

What a beautiful bird that B-1 is, just a sleek, incredible flying machine!! As a long-time GA pilot, sometimes I look back and think, if I had it all to do over again, I would have joined the military so I could fly some of those magnificent birds! The young, with their fast reactions and physically able bodies are a natural pick for those aircraft that fly high and nearly 1,000 mph and the missions they are made for, all I can do now is watch them, marvel at them, and thank all who have a part in keeping them in the air, for their service in protecting and defending our Country! I've loved the swept-wing design since I admired, fell in love, and flew in the Concorde in about 1984 or so. The "Bone" as they lovingly call the Lancer, is about as sexy as a bomber can be! Happy Landings!

I'm in Oklahoma now, and have worked on several construction projects on Tinker, and also the Quad Graphics complex. I spent a good portion of my working life at USAF Plant 42 in Palmdale California where they did final assembly on the B1. I watched ship 95 do 2 barrel rolls at around 500 feet above the deck between two of the buildings. Pops was a project manager for Rockwell for much of the B1 production. Had several of the mucky mucks as well as those from Northrop and Lockheed over to the house many times. The test pilots loved it, said it flies like a fighter. I've watched it fly so much I find it a bit boring really. I was also privileged to watch the SR71 fly more than I think any man has a right to. I was never bored watching it LoL.

@@christinecronje4704 Oh, quit being a grammar police! No one likes to be corrected, especially from someone who probably has no business doing it except to be a smart-ass!
