Enjoy watching them and the Commandant's Own practice when they're here every spring, but hate that they take the chow hall parking lot to practice in, LOL!

I love how the use of the metronome helps them keep time and stay in step. Semper Fi, Marines.

thanks for posting this. I find it interesting that they recite the counts when learning their routine
@Juliet1106Tango7 жыл бұрын
It helps drive home the movements when they do it publicly

I do artistic colorguard, which was actually derived from this and military colorguards. The count reciting is just to drill down the actions. Reciting them helps get down tempo and accurate counts

@stevefowler17878 жыл бұрын
Yepper...issued due to being very close to the same feel as flat leather issued marching/dress shoes...a U.S. Marine vet....That would make a great Converse commercial.

Why chuck Taylors?
@moserr116 жыл бұрын
What are they doing this for? Good Question. It is a necessary function for all inspecting officers to determine the battle readiness of their troops. As it evolved the soldier/marine would show that officer that he had a clean weapon. Now the really good part is when the inspecting officer gets the weapon and shows what HE/SHE can do with that weapon. All the movements in this drill are combat deployments. So, no, this isn't just a show.
@eliyahuohiyon74613 жыл бұрын
It is just a show. None of these drill movements are applicable to combat. It isn't the eighteenth century anymore. This unit is a non combat arms unit. It's literally specifically only for show. Not everyone in the military sees combat, like at least 80% of the military does not see combat.

@Mo-LoveInDaWorld7 жыл бұрын
joshua dodson the reason they are all wearing converse is because there flat like a USMC dress shoes it helps them get used to wearing more flat shoes

I guess they prove, skills is never about the shoes, but the hard work and dedication the individual put into it.
