The Aiki Dojo 2 Minute Technique - Uchimawari and Sotomawari Kokyunage
Ken Watanabe Sensei, Aikido 6th Dan, Iaido 5th Dan explains and demonstrates uchimawari and sotomawari kokyunage. Uchimawari (内回り) means “inside rotation” and sotomawari (外回り) means “outside rotation.” Hidden within these seemingly simple techniques are many secrets to the movements and throws of Aikido. One can only unlock these secrets by studying these seemingly benign techniques in depth. Watanabe Sensei discusses the basics of these two important throws.
