You are certainly becoming my favourite place to go to unwind on KZbin. Thank you for the inspiration. Because of you I'm over 25k words (and counting) on the novel I've been planning since I was 14. (I'm nearly 28 now, so it's been on the back burner for a while LOL). LOVE watching your creative process. Your content is so cozy-- the write with me/project teacup updates are my favourite! Watching the word count go up makes me so proud of you!! I'm positive 12-year-old you would be very proud!

My accent is all over the shop, I don't blame you! I was born in Adelaide as well but moved to Queensland for a few years and then finally settled in Victoria, I have rural Victorians on my dad's side and then my mum's side is British. Then you've also got the British TV and American TV influence over here too. So, my accent is like kind of just an amalgamation of stuff. An old friend said I sounded like I'm from Tasmania weirdly enough. But I love your videos and I'd love to be a published author one day, just got to get my butt into gear, but I've had some creative nonfiction published so that's always nice. Edit: Also I got inspired to write from Harry Potter too, it's a damn shame I'm not a fan of the author anymore (no I will not discuss all this stuff thxs).

Is 1,000 words roughly 3 book pages as it says on the internet? I'm having trouble visualizing how many pages you've written when you talk about word count. Google mostly talks about 12 pt font, double-spaced, but that's not usually how books are formatted.
@christy-anne-jones2 жыл бұрын
Oh I don't think about it in terms of pages because every book formats its pages a little differently :) A YA/Middle grade is generally going to have a larger font and more spacing than an adult novel. A novel that's only 60,000 words is probably going to make its font and spacing larger to beef up the pages while a book like Jonathon Strange and Mr Norell (250k words) has a tiny font to reduce the number of pages. So, counting in pages is basically useless bc it's so inconsistent. That's why publishers/agents/magazines/editors and everyone in between uses word count not pages 😊 for the doc I'm using rn it's somewhere between 290-380 words to a page but again that's not super helpful if you compare it to an actual book
