There is a very tight sisterhood between Floor, Simone, and also Elize Ryd from Amaranthe and Alyssa White Gluz from Arch Enemy. The four of them act like long lost friends each time they come in contact. All of them have had guest appearances with Kamelot and Nightwish. Floor and Elize saved the one Nightwish show when Anette Olsen couldnt perform, which led to Floor eventually taking her place. You can find the variety of crossovers in youtube easily.

Mark Jansen guitarist of Epica, was in a band with Floor Jansen in After Forever before forming Epica with then-girlfriend Simone Simons. Mark Jansen later worked with Floor on their new project after After Forever in the band Revamp. Even when Floor Jansen took over the female vocals for Nightwish in 2013, she continued her project ReVamp until 2016.

Epica's Retrospect show is still one of the best shows, I've ever attended !!! Every song from that show is just mindblowing awesome ! ....and Simone was even 3 months pregnant at that show and the drummer is Ariën van Weesenbeek

Stabat Mater Dolorosa is another duet by them with Epica. Both singers appear on many Ayreon albums and in one of the two Ayreon live concerts Album The Source, with both singers. Ayreon Universe live, with Floor and many other well known musicians The electric castle live and other tales, with Simone and many other well known musicians The Si in Simons is pronounced in the same way as the Si in Simone.

Loved your reaction! But just a reminder, Floor was not a Nightwish member yet at this concert (that happened later that year). And about 'too much talent' on stage, take a look at some of the videos of the live concerts of Ayreon (that is a multiple of this one)! You may enjoy (from this same concert) 'Unleashed', 'Chasing the Dragon', and 'Design your Universe'. Some other good ones 'Essence of Silence' and 'Rivers'.

Great to see you do more Epica - yea they are superhuman and incredibly good together - good old friends singing like godesses xD You won't find any bad piece with this outstanding Retrospect-Show, some still seem pretty soft and there's even a pure classical pice with Floor and Simone there. Maybe you will love "Unleashed" or "Design your Universe" - those are some other outstanding songs from that show. And if you happen to pick up on some super wild and more progressive live performances, have a peek at the old "Kingdom of Heaven" live - the one with seemingly not so great visual quality and several subtitle-languages inside the clip.... It delivers a lot of the atmosphere beeing there :D And not to mention the deep lyrics and messages they have on their songs - those are worth a glance too :D Oh well ... Epica is just another rabbithole to fall in - you surely got loads and enough of recommondations xD Just keep up your great work on your channel - I superenjoy seeing you and your reactions and comments :D

You should check out Design Your Universe from the same retrospect show. It was the final song of the main set and Simone was still singing flawlessly and was still very animated at the end of a near 3 hour set.

Love the Green I was trying to figure out your expression before the first break, then you said "I just wish they could sing me to sleep every night".. THAT WAS IT !! ... and the heart rate drops as the music soars. At Peace. As far as Simone's voice holding on : the live Consign to Oblivion you did a week or so back? That was their finale. Simone is an ultra marathoner (of voice) So much fun to watch this. While others might have you go back for more at the Zenith (live concert), I think it's fine to come forward a bit... Epica's Omega Live concert in 2021 was an amazing event. Maybe try The Skeleton Key, or Unchain Utopia, or Kingdom of Heaven, Part 3? There's really no wrong answer with this band. So very, VERY good.

Epica is pretty diverse with their music, for back and forward with Simone and Mark you can check out, Epica - Skeleton key from omega alive. Then there is only Simones vocals in Epica - Unchained utopia from omega alive. Also they have ballads, Epica - Rivers, Epica - Tides of time. And then there is longer song, but worth checking out, because performance and song is amazing, Epica - Kingdom of heavens part 3 from omega alive.

That is a great performance. Simone and Floor are good friends and Floor had previously been singing in the same band as the guitarist Mark Jansen who also does the growling in most Epica songs though not this one so yes, there is great chemistry between Floor and Epica.
