Just wait. His journey is one hell of an emotional roller coaster. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry-more than a few times, literally. He is one of the very few rappers I will listen to. His lyrics get deeper and he gets better and better. Most metal heads resonate with his music because of the real life struggles he sings and raps about.

All respect due, I really get upset when people say "NF is one the only rappers I'll listen to.." for whatever reason. There are plenty of rappers with more technical ability, a deeper backstory, and have flows and beats that are great. This whole saying makes it seem like such a race intertwined statement. Like "I don't listen to rap but I'll listen to this white guy" but I'm not saying that's your stance, it just gives that energy off. The most famous example being Tom MacDonald, as crappy as that whole situation is. I'm rambling now but my whole point is don't be closed minded about rap as a genre, with all due respect if you don't choose to branch out there to compare, you can't blindly say NF is good in rap as a genre. Once you do branch out, you'll no longer use that "I don't listen to rap but.." and it won't matter what you listen to. It just always seems like that saying comes from someone trying to say they're above this level of music or something somehow.
@whosthatoutcast Жыл бұрын
@AverageTom MacDonaldHater you're the only one who made it about race. Rap isn't what it used to be, it's all the same cookie cutter bs that the radio pushes. I can't blame them for not like rap. What they are saying is rap isn't something I listen to, but I relate to this guy who just so happens to rap.
@JDpewpew Жыл бұрын
@@whosthatoutcast I'm not making it about race by pointing out an obvious fact. Nobody leads a statement with "I don't listen to rap but..." without immediately listing 1 of maybe 10 white rappers that exist. Take your pick as to which one they choose. That's not racist, that's just a fact. Nobody says "I don't listen to rap but that new Wayne song hit". So either you're saying surface layer rap is white only, OR it gravitates towards a white only audience to white only rappers. As far as rap being different now? In what way? They still was talking about the same stuff then as they do now. Nothing about it changed lol. I also relate to NF heavily, but making it all you listen to and deciding it's a personality type to constantly state you don't normally listen to this music, as if somehow it's lower than you are, is a joke.

Intro is kind of unique on the journey in that it doesn't delve much into his inner demons and mental health troubles. Like you said, it's total self-motivation. This is the end of the "easy listening" portion of the NF Journey for a while. We get into some deep and dark topics from here but it's all beautiful and will give you a new appreciation for Hope when you see where he came from mentally. Can't wait to see your reaction to Mansion. It's one of my personal favorites.

The Journey is an emotional one that you have to have 2 perspectives in mind: he is not simply a rapper but an artist that has his own style. Second, the Journey is his story that he lays open for us (he alludes to this in his song - Intro 2). This is what makes Hope such an epic part of his journey. You can't fully appreciate Hope until you've gone through his catalog. Some reactors seem to go on "the journey" for clicks, but there are others that seem genuinely interested. Hope you see it through! (No pun intended)
