After 9+ years in Australia, finally left Australia permanently few months ago. For most of the time was on student visa, and while on 485 first time after 7 years had the opportunity to work full time without paying school fees, etc... Australia is great place to live. Obviously too expensive for new migrants (just saying, i am not type of person who says only bad things because couldn't manage to stay there permanently). I personally didn't like how Australia dealt with its citizens during covid. What a shame! For everything else, it is a decent place to live (once again, too expensive). What i hate about Australia, is how hard for newcomers is to get a PR. For international students in particular. Int.students pay loads of money, and many times get nothing in return. Australia claims that education is the highest quality, better than some UK, US, CA universities. It is shame how it works. The only thing that matters is to pay college/uni fees. Assessments are often done by third parties. Students attendance isn't monitored appropriatelly. Students have to work to pay astronomical fees, study isn't a priority, and isn't difficult at all. Then, since Australia know what rubbish proffesional are made in those "educational institutions" they won't get them the opportunity to compete with domestic enginners, and other proffesionals. Look around, Pakistani PHD works as an uber driver. Indian master accountant works as a chief. Nepalese doctor works at 7/11 I do respect all people equally, don't want to be misunderstood, but what is the conclusion? Get sheeps from overseas, suck the money out of them, exploit them, then spit them out. Looking forward to make a you tube channel in near future, got so many things to share, specially with those who are planning to go down under. They deserve to know.. Once again, good place to live, nice weather, beaches, etc. But only for those with clear pathway to secure a PR. Few years is ok. But 5+ years is simply way too long. Also, good place for trade persons, coz Australia needs them. Strong economy, buildings are growing all over the place. A bit confusing writing, too many things to point out, and one comment is certainly not enough. Thats why a you tube channel is thing to do.

Thanks for sharing your experience here with us and it is a difficult isse for many are successful and find there dreams here and many do not. WHen people come here to study they need to keep in mind it it doesn't work out for whatever the reason, they can still have a good life back home or anywhere else they may end up.

I just can't understand why the Govt allows immig to take 9+ months to process a 190, 491 visa. Its ridiculous when in the past the average processing time is a lot faster. However that's not the pt. The pt. is the Govt is practically allowing a dept to significantly affects the overall productivity of the Australia. There must be ways to hasten the process to help the country overcome such shortages in times of need.

Hi Karl, Thanks for the update on the 491 visa requirements as a whole. However, I'm a bit confused with what the Live Melbourne site has published about their requirements. Under further eligibility requirements, they state, "You must be working in skilled employment for an employer physically located in regional Victoria." Further, it also says "A business using a virtual office or proxy office is not considered as physically located in regional Victoria". So how come this would work for a company that is located in the City area and for those who WFH. Could you kindly explain this in your next video? Thank you very much.

Nurses, engineers..where are rest of professions? Look around and see how many Australians study public policy or public administration or some other fields like law or IT? Almost none and still somehow these are not on priority despite obvious low domestic supply? US attracts talent regardless of field of profession because it want to increase productivity and innovation..thats why US immigration has been successful despite no specific permanent programmes except green card.. Australia should learn from it rather than targeting only few occupations.

Also if you comment on how the visa processing works or get sorted for finalisation by case officer. As I am waiting for my 189 grant since Dec 2022. Yes, you have heard it right. Let's see Australians to continue lamenting the housing crisis, while Home Affairs remains steadfast in not processing skilled workers in construction and building occupations in a reasonable time. Should we start a petition and demand that they explain themselves? The lack of available housing to buy or rent, and the high prices, are indeed significant challenges that are driving many migrants to return to their home countries, that wasting everybody time and resources.

Karl the GOAT busting myths. I hope the DoHA will follow-up on their promises to reduce the backlogs faster. But they have already failed one commitment to clear the huge backlogs from the previous fiscal years by December 2024. The pace they are going is too slow and seems like it has nothing to do with lack of employees training as this is the same department that granted around 10k visas each in July and August alone. I hope they pick up the pace and clear the remaining backlog soon, which is constantly piling up .

Why doha start processing November December 2023 while people waiting for 20 months from May June 2023. By that rate June applications will not get their grant in this FY because quota will be exhausted

I am textile engineer, seeking jobs from 2017 even after getting 491 end up in factory & uber. There are more engineers with full work rights why employers are not utilising those skills;

Hiii Karl, any possible draws for 491, 190 and 189 for engineers? 491 and 190 - 85 points 189 - 70 points. Thank u
@estellebright2579
@estellebright2579 4 күн бұрын
This depends on what type of Engineer you are, though 70 points are a bit low for Engineers in general unless you aim for states like VIC that don't really care about EOI score but focus more on their own selection criteria.
