The skill assessment is a redundant exercise and unnecessary for Australian Graduates with local work experience. Its a Paradox to require International Australian graduates to skill assessments because we are telling all international students here that their Australian qualifications may not be comparable to Australian qualifications in Australia as such the need to assess?? we contradict ourselves by claiming that all Australian qualifications are internationally recognized but we ourselves don't practice that. I've been seeing lots of people getting confused about this. VETASSESS deducts 1 year from work experience because they take that PLUS my college degree and considers them as the qualifying criteria for the occupation, that's correct right? If I have a total of 3.4 years, that means I'll only be having 2.4 years of experience assessed positively. Does it mean that that 2.4 years should be the one specified in my EOI, or should I follow the correct, actual number of years that I have, which is 3.4? Thank you! Hi Karl, recently I got positive outcome as an internal auditor from vetasses , however they deducted 1 Yr experience total experience they have taken is 5.9 yrs. In addition to this I also have experience as company secretary for more then one year which I didn't showed to vetasses as I thought they will be assessing only relevant occupation. Both the occupations have first 4 digit same anzsco code. Can I claim points in eoi for the one year deducted by vetassess and also for one year as company secretary experience as closely related occupation ? Or do i need skill assessment for company secretary as well to claim the points? My main occupation is Internal auditor

@@ailsaustralia this is what I saw on nsw website for reasons of rejection if eoi "Over-claimed points for employment If your skills assessment displays a date you have been deemed skilled in your occupation, you cannot claim points for skilled employment before this date. This particularly applies to ACS and most VETASSESS assessments. To ensure you are eligible to accept your NSW invitation, we strongly recommend you confirm you are eligible to claim all the points in your SkillSelect EOI, and that you have only claimed eligible skilled employment. If you have claimed points in error, you are not eligible to accept your NSW invitation if invited. There are no exceptions for any reason. "

Bunch of rip-off, unhelpful criminals in my opinion. I wouldn't throw eggs at them. Robbed me of $1120, which is typical of a government backed company. Absolute atrocious customer service guys. They didnt return any of my emails, nor did they bother to contact my references. I was told they were a nightmare to deal with after I paid the fee unfortunately.
